  1. I honestly don't think Chester will be doing these shows if he felt it got in the way of LP, wasn't the reason he left STP in the first place because he could not commit to them 100%? Besides the guys in LP are always supportive of each other when it comes to side projects, shows, etc.

  2. I'd be cool with this, I was actually thinking about them doing this last week. Chainsmokers are at least really catchy instead of most of the generic artists LP has worked with lately.

Could also just be another episode of Mike and Chester on vocals for the other artist labeled as "feat. Linkin Park" but that would still be cool.

Yeah agree never was a fan of their past collabs but The Chainsmokers are pretty cool so lets just see if this actually happens.

  3.

It's because we already used to listen to LP stuff for a long time. When they release something new, people will said "it's not LP", "it's sound bad". Besides, the track is just a featuring. Things will be different if LP feat. Martin Garrix. But i do respect your opinions. Everyone deserve to speak out. :)

    Thanks a lot Broman! :)

I think its probably because some of us are just not a fan of EDM.

  4. Because we can still enjoy Chester with other bands. A huge draw for many fans of LP is Chester, hell a lot of people that hate LP love him. He's a great singer and one of the best of our generation.

What STP had was a pretty special thing. Really great vibes and concerts. Chester was obviously happy with the change of pace and being able to play clubs again. He said the Birmingham show was one of his favorite concerts of all time. It's his favorite music and favorite band, of course he loved it. That's no knock on LP either, he obviously cares deeply for LP which is why he made the decision. It's just sad that someone has to quit their favorite band just because LP couldn't hold on a few months to record a new album. It's almost never that something this interesting in music happens - a singer from a huge band that loves the smaller band joins the smaller band because he's such a fan of it.

It was cool seeing him rock out so much with STP. When it all comes down to it, I probably even prefer him singing in a true rock band over LP's "every genre" style. He's a natural rock star, I'd much rather see him sing Down or something than Castle of Dance, etc.

You seem to imply that LP somehow pressured Chester to leave and I think that's a bit unfair seeing that he always had the support from the other band members.

  5.

I like the Ballad medley. I'd rather they drop Castle of Dance and Runaway / Wastelands.

I like Wastelands but I think Runaway is just a waste of time; I rather prefer Wastelands alone with the hard start or the album intro.

As for COG I want it back as the album version even if the remix was no too bad. Or drop it completely in favour of LITE

    Yep agreed.

  6. Ryu is just understandably confused when he recorded a verse for this song (probably assuming and rightfully so, that it was for an FM comeback, because anyone in their right mind would assume that) and is in the video, but didn't know the video was being shot and wasn't in the song. And now Mike wants to do it solo.

Yes the FM meaning is not what Ryu is implying.

"I wanted to send out the message that I'm not doing this just to get more attention to myself as a person. It's more about the music than me, and I thought by putting another name on it, it would keep the attention on the music. 'Fort' represents the more aggressive side of the music. 'Minor' can mean a few things: if you're talking about music theory, the minor key is darker. I wanted to name the album rather than having my name on the cover, because I want people to focus on the music, not me. In fact, the reason I named the record 'The Rising Tied' is because it's a play on words. This "tied" group of people are coming up together in the context of this record."

    Another interview:

“There’s a lot of dynamics in the record, and that’s why the name Fort Minor works so well,” Shinoda explained. ” ’Fort’ [is] something that’s heavy and militant. ’Minor’ [is] taken one of two ways: either meaning small or meaning … between the two basic chords in music theory, you’ve got major or minor, and minor is described as the darker, sadder chord. The album is about the dynamic when you put all those things together. You’ve got that spectrum.”

That's pretty much the same explanation Mike gave behind the meaning of Fort Minor in a 'making of The Rising Tied' video when the album came out which featured JayZ and Brad.

Mike just doesn't come across as the type of guy RYU is claiming him to be.

  7. Castle of Dance is terrible....isn't this supposed to be a rock show? Everyone talks about them having to play things people know, yet they play DTB and a song off of Recharged, which almost nobody knows. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like any of the EDM crap.

Yep agree. Never was a fan of castle of dance or any of the Steve Aoki collaborations for that matter, prefer the original COG.

Does anyone know why Brad wasn't at the show?

  8.

Geki seriously? Get over yourself. I said "but that's just my opinion." I am the exact same as any fan, I don't magically love and worship every single thing LP does in their career. Except you, you're pretty much the only person that I've ever seen do that. Are they a great band? Yes. Do I love seeing them live? Yes. Do they do stuff that I hate? Of course. I don't pretend LP is some magical god-like band that the ground they walk on must be worshipped. Did dropping Reading My Eyes in 2008 make me disappointed? Sure. Do I like ALTNC and this song? Hell no. But I love songs like Valentine's Day, etc that a lot of fans dislike. It's an OPINION. LP makes music for all of us. I wouldn't keep doing LPLive if LP didn't interest me any longer - that's no secret.

You keep bringing up nu-metal. Seriously, shut up about it. No one has discussed that since like, 2008. "Music is fucking subjective. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean that someone as doesn't." Yes, exactly. Now go back and read what I originally posted. Don't be an idiot.

That meme is spot on. Anyways was not a fan of ALTNC so not sure if I should bother listening to this one. And for the record no, I'm not one of those nu metal fans who wishes that LP will release another HT/Meteora part 2. I appreciate every album LP has made so far so please don't judge or jump to conclusions just because some fans don't like a particular single released.

  9. For the past 6 months, all I've seen here is constant complaining that LP isn't playing APFMH live anymore. Seriously it got to the point that it made me not want to visit this site anymore. Now the band finally listens, adds it back into the set and people still complain. No one here is ever satisfied. You people complain like little babies over things that don't even matter. Whether you guys like the songs or not, LP is putting on a great show. They care more about the people at the concert being satisfied rather than some babies complaining on a message board. I was there at Orlando and every person I talked to at the show including myself had an amazing time. Out of the 6 LP shows I've been to, this has been their best performance I've seen yet. Stop trying so hard to be "elitists" about this band. We all listen to one of the most popular bands in the world. We're not special.

But you've got to think of it in the band's perspective. There has to be some diversity and balance in the setlists. The Ballad Medley serves as a great breather in between all of the heavier songs. If the shows only consisted of heavy songs, it would become boring and redundant. Plus, there are a lot of fans who only like those songs as well. The band is trying their best to please everyone, so we should at least give them credit where its due. They're playing content from every album, new and old. Heck, they're even playing fort minor stuff. I'm just saying everyone should chill and be grateful that the band is as successful as they are at this point of their career. Not a lot of bands as old as LP are still selling out stadiums across the world.

So true, agree with everything you've said. If LP were to play all new songs there would still be people complaining about them not playing enough of their old stuff. Its impossible to please everyone.
