  1. I was at this show…it was insane. Only time I heard Figure .09, Wish, and the BP/Papercut mashup live. I was also at the 2008 show at MSG, which was epic, but we kind of expected Jay-Z to come out in NYC. The Holmdel show with Jay Z was so unexpected.

  2. Hasn’t changed at all. I thought it was an embarrassing mess when it came out, and I still do. TTM and SE are fine, but the rest of it is boring, generic pop music. I understand that bands have to release what they feel is right for them at a certain time, but I’ll never understand why they landed on this.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but the world’s kinda on lockdown rn. Pretty sure if anyone’s got anything right now, it’s time to do stuff. i mean, surely YOU had something better to do than type that first useless, unproductive comment.

Though i’m pretty sure someone would’ve done it anyway. because we’re a community of people who love to analyze every single detail. sorry if that displeases you 🤓

Guess I was wrong. Sometimes I forget that a lot of you are still children with weird obsessions.

Use his name? Not a single guest is listed

Actually I'm glad that his vocals are buried he's not a professional singer and his voice is unpleasant.

The other collaborators who did vocals none of them have their own part its just backup or background vocals which is great for me because this whole album is about Chester.

That's why this is not a cashgrab they could have easily throw all the big names in the tracklist to attract more people but they didn't.

Listen to the man in the mirror by MJ

I wasn’t referring to you my man. I’m talking about the guys deconstructing the track.

  5. You guys take this stuff way too seriously. The merch stuff comes across kinda gross, and I believe everything Mark is saying about Sean, but the music they’ve released has been really good IMO. Everyone just treat it the way you want to and chill out. None of this overly important at this point.

No, you're a better fan when you realize you don't care for the song and choose to move on and listen to something else rather than talk about how it's "shit" here.

I don't even know why you're complaining. You want people that don't bow down and praise "every song ever made", then don't come straight to an LP forum, attack something LP related, and expect to come out like everything is fine. You may as well jump into a lion's cage with raw meat and wonder why it's trying to attack you

Who’s complaining? I heard the song here, through it sounded like crap, and said so. Is that complaining? I was going to LP shows before you even knew who they were. Go find someone else to blab your nonsense to.

Everyone's allowed but you're 2 are acting like if Geki possessed a few people here and started acting extremely hostile and rude towards others that have a different take.

The people who are upset about a different take are the ones who get all worked up when someone thinks a release sucks. That’s the problem here, always has been. God forbid someone hates something, the fanboys come out in droves giving life lessons about all things LP. You’re not a better fan because you bow down and praise every song ever made.

"This is shit" "This is total trash" - neither add anything to discussion. Nowhere did I say you aren't allowed to do that, but maybe add value or even just substance. Your opinions on anything content-wise could be replaced with a bot coded to switch between canned responses.

^^^^you can criticize something, but at least provide substance to back it up.

i.e. ATS as a whole front to back album is fantastic, but the fact it was toted as being 15 new tracks but only 9 actual songs and an instrumental with 5 interludes that seem thrown in is kinda bullshit. The non singles on MTM did not age well to me, I think it's due to how stripped down everything was that makes them sound unfinished/unpolished.

    vs

ATS is trash, MTM is shit

I don’t really need a lesson on commenting from you, but ok. Honestly, I don’t care what you think about what I said.

Do you want a martyr card stamp or tiny violin. Nobody's getting worked up over people not liking a song. People are pointing out edgelords repeating the same exact insufferable phrases for the past 13 years. Each album's had good and bad tracks and people have different tastes in the music they prefer, but if all you ever are going to say is "this is shit" to every single thing for years, then why are you still here? I've had other bands where their albums stopped appealing to me, but I don't sit with a plate of chicken tendies squawking about how anything they do is awful.

I haven’t commented in here in a very long time, so whatever you’re blabbing about doesn’t apply to me. Also, why can’t people say they think a song or album is shit? How is it any different than the people who love every single thing that comes out?

I think you and spraypaintinkpens and you are the consistent "shit on everything". Even Geki comes around on some stuff or had variety in his opinions.

It's a Steve Aoki song, you care a bit apparently

I remember how this works now. Someone dares to dislike a MS/LP song or project and the resident fanboys get all worked up because the hyperventilate over everything the guys put out. The music being put out over the last few years is vastly inferior to what came before it. That’s my opinion, and I think the opinion of a lot of LP fans. Doesn’t mean you have to agree with it.

hey you're back. as usual, you hate everything. that's great. 😆

anyway, looking forward to the track. didnt expect much. as long as it's something new from Shinoda, i'm in!

    This is untrue, but whatever.

Is this post aimed at Mike Shinoda or Steve Aoki?

It’s aimed at Mike. I couldn’t possibly care less what Aoki does.

  12. Are you really LP fan? You sound like metal elitist. What LP play in your opinion? Jazz? They consider themselves as a rock band. OML is definitely not Disney pop. Whole album is soft, but it doesn't mean it's full pop. There is some indie rock, indie folk, synthpop etc. ATS is electronica/alternative/rock. LT is pretty much same, but it's more hooky. None of the band members is metalhead. Brad grew up on thrash metal, but he likes more alternative and rock stuff. Rob is definitely more into jazz and rock. Phoenix..It's hard to say and Mike? He is a rap dude at first, but he loves everything. You know that. And he's gone full pop? LOL. K. Flay, Grandson or Phantogram is definitely not pop music.

    time 6:30
Sorry...but OML is a full blown pop record. Theres nothing rock or alternative about it. Its as radio friendly and generic as it gets. Its the record they chose to make. I personally hate it, but there are millions of people who like it, and I get that. But to claim its not a pop record is just crazy.
  13. We all get it dude...you loved Chester. We all did.

Ban me. I'm not accepted in the community, never have been. I'm on my own in those regards. Not a fan of covers, especially female singers (I hate female vocalists, not sexist, just don't like them). Hate how since Chester died everybody is suddenly this huge fan and you see all this type of stuff with movies and shit now. I mean it does sound bad, not gonna lie. Nobody is Chester and nobody ever will be. Oli Sykes said the other day that nobody sounded like Chester and nobody ever will again. I agree 100%. Even Mike. I couldn't give a fuck less if Chester didn't write a song, he sang on it, he performed it, it's his song. If it's an original piece and he sang on it, it's his shit. Like I don't care at all if Mike wrote One More Light. Chester made that song what it is. Chester sang that song. It's his song. Sorry not sorry. I was bummed at Mike's show in NYC when more than half of the set wasn't even his own music. I expected his new album mostly with a few FM songs. Maybe 1 LP song but definitely a LP song that he sang on, not Chester.

I mean on LPA you get banned just for not liking ATS. But yeah. I get what you mean. Don't care about your opinion, though. Never had a problem with you, I always thought you were one of the cooler people in the LP fanbase and you've been through a lot in life. If I had a dollar for every person who didn't like me or hated me, I'd be rich as fuck.

  14. Dude, the issue isn't, and never has been, a difference of opinion. It's how you present yourself. Saying shit like "you all refuse to believe it isn't going to work" is very different than "I'm not that interested in a set with a lack of heavy songs", which seems to be your point of view. THAT'S fine. What isn't fine is your constant dismissing of others' opinions/thoughts, but when someone challenges your own, you play the victim.

Oh please. Are you for real? I didn't dismiss anyone's opinion. I said I didn't agree and that I didn't think most people were being realistic about the bands future. That has been my view from the beginning of all of this. Astat has a problem with me...I don't really care, but I think it's BS that he gets to just say whatever he wants to people. He thinks his opinions are more important because he knows more about music than most. But no one ever says a thing to him. It's ridiculous.
  15. No, you don't "hate it as much as the rest of us," because you're one of about three people on here with their head far enough up their ass to think the way you do.

Jon doesn't NEED to be capable of doing Chester's heavy vocal parts. Look at how they did Numb, New Divide, and In the End. How many other early vocally heavy songs were really auto-includes in the setlist before Chester's passing? One Step Closer, Faint...that's really about it. You're talking about a pretty small portion of the setlist where it would be an issue. It's an important chunk of the set, sure, but they've already shown there are ways to work around it that don't have to involve replacing Chester.

Jon was the MVP of the show. He was literally out there for a third of the set, and everything he did was integrated seamlessly. He covered Chester's guitar part on Iridescent. He played keys enough to free Mike up to be more of a frontman on songs where he'd otherwise be stuck behind his keyboards. His harmonies kept vocal playback to a minimum. He even sang the album "ahh-ahh" part at the end of Papercut that has literally NEVER been done live.

Knowing now how much Jon brings to the table, I'd be vouching for the guy to be the Morgan Nicholls or Jason Freese of Linkin Park even if Chester was still with us.

Is there ever a time when you're not being a giant douche bag? Seriously, why am I not allowed to have an opinion? I'm well aware that you think you're some type of musical know it all...good for you. I don't think the band can put on a proper show without Chester....is that so wrong? Mik can't handle all of the vocals, and Jon Green, while very good on the OML songs, can't handle the aggressive songs either. I'm not interested in an LP show full of OML songs...not my thing. Stop being such an asshole for five minutes, and try to understand that not everyone has the same opinion as you. No one else on here acts the way you do when they disagree with others. It's embarrassing. Grow up.
  16.

You're talking to me here, I think everything written after MTM is fucking pure garbage. I hated like half of this tribute show because it had a shit ton of songs from after MTM. But let's be real, casual fans and fans both love ATS, LT and OML. THP only got one song from the album at the show. Casual fans don't know THP and a lot of fans don't even care about THP. Most casuals don't know what about the non-singles on any of the albums. I mean I guess they could do like Papercut, Mike or Jon could probably do that one. OSC might be hard, same as Crawling. The rest were just promo singles and stuff so no need to play any of those. Meteora, I could see a lot of it being an issue for Mike and Jon. SIB and BTH could probably be played. Faint and FTI might be hard. You have to think realistically, this isn't the Linkin Park of the old days when Chester was the frontman and commanded the stage. It's a different time now. Many fans would gladly go and watch newer songs, trust me.

I really disagree with this. The crowds always goes the craziest for the HT and Meteora songs. Most people don't like ATS at all. I agree on THP, though I liked most of it, casual fans aren't gonna want to hear it. Look, I hope they find a way to continue in some fashion, but I think it will be very difficult for a variety of reasons. I'm not sure the guys will even want to try and continue as LP. Only time will tell.
