  1. I would rather die than having to listen to this run of songs at a concert. (EXCEPT FOR ALITS)

    12. What I've Done

    13. Numb

    14. Until it's Gone | Leave Out All The Rest (while not playing Ballad Medley)

    15. One More Light (transition outro)

    16. A Line In The Sand

    - encore 1 -

    17. Ballad Medley (LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent) | Battle Symphony (Piano)

    18. Crawling (Piano)

    19. Burn It Down (Acoustic 2017 Version)

    20. Heavy (Piano)

    This x10000000000000

  2. These are some pretty good ideas, but they won't happen. It will be mostly singles, new songs, and ballads. Which sucks because they have so much great material to work with at this point. I just really hope they stop doing partial songs. And please stop playing BID....please.

  3.

Heavy was obviously aimed at radio, with a feature by Kiiara. That's been a success so far. You may hate Heavy but it's receiving regular radio play right now.

I think Battle Symphony is a good song. I don't understand the amount of hate it's receiving. It's not even that much different that some songs they've made in the past. It would fit right in on ATS for example, and I personally feel that ATS is the band's best album as a whole thus far.

Different people have different tastes. You absolutely have a right to your opinion, but not everyone thinks these songs are terrible. Obviously the band didn't since as you said they made the cut.

Yes, Heavy is getting plenty of play on pop radio stations. As for BS, I disagree, what song on ATS does it remind you of? I really like ATS, but to me, it doesn't resemble anything I've heard so far from OML.

  4.

Who says i can't accept? If i can't, i'm not gonna be here. There's other people who gave their negative/bad feedback by discussing and in a good way, but hmm you're not. you just throwing hates in here. poor guy. yeah, you're allowed to hate but just keep it to yourself. we dont need it in here. :)

if it's gonna be like "Dark Crystal", then i'm f'kin hype! but i got a feeling it's gonna be some kind of MGK's "Bad Things", which i love it. catchy chorus with dope rap verse.

Look man, I have zero interest in what you think about my criticism. Do me a favor, and don't get involved with what I have to say. I'm going to say whatever I want about the music and the band....you don't like it, skim over it and move on.

  5.

Don't bother then. Your comments in this forum is all about hate, negativity. You're not even discussing. I'm wondering why you're still here. Go out there, do something useful.

Anyway, about the collaboration, Stormzy is great, especially when he performed with Ed Sheeran. Looking forward for "Good Goodbye".

Another fanboy, who can't accept that people don't like everything LP does. If you like bad hip hop and boring pop music, good for you. I don't care for it, and am allowed to hate it. Get over the fact that not everyone goes crazy over everything they do.

  6. This Stormzy dude sounds awful. I like a lot of hip hop, but this is crap. Every bit of news that is released about this album makes me less and less interested in it.

The backing sounds simular to what I've done but it does sound like Chester. FAKE?

Pretty sure it's fake....which sucks because it sounds better than anything they've actually released.

  7.

A Thousand Suns was like that, meant to be a full story and they even released it as the ATS Experience (one file) on iTunes or whatever. That's a great album and sounds fantastic even in individual songs. I wish they would have continued that in 2011-2012 for another CD.

Well Battle Symphony isn't a single but I understand what you're saying. I dislike both as well. If the music isn't for you on this album, the live shows will be good. I'm not sure how every single person can enjoy every single LP album because they are all so drastically different starting with MTM. Eventually you'll find one that you're like "WTF, this SUCKS!" and that's the current state of a lot of fans with OML's generic pop sound. However, I've seen a ton of Meteora/ATS hate over the years so now the situation is flipped :P

He doesn't get it because these songs are super personal to them. They did the lyrics first, and that's why the music is suffering so greatly. There are plenty of bands who nail the pop stuff (Backstreet Boys, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift) but plenty who also suck at it (Maroon 5, Coldplay's latest album, etc).

It really does have nothing to do with being different, I agree, because so many people do enjoy the shifts they take from album to album. In my opinion, it has everything to do with the music coming last and suffering greatly because of it. The shift in songwriting really takes a big toll here. They described the lyrics for MONTHS as being these super epic lyrics that have all this meaning and are so great.....LOL. Quite the opposite. Heavy is one of the most atrocious songs they have ever released. But it is personal to them, I'll give them that. However, it's still a desperately bad attempt at pop and they completely whiffed on it. That's just what I hear, I'm sure some people disagree.

I agree....I never have had a problem with them trying different things. Actually, I enjoy it. However, these songs are too generic and seem a bit uninspired to me. They've released plenty of "pop" songs before, most people didn't freak out when they did. There's a difference this time. I'm not sure if Mike doesn't hear it, or he just doesn't care. It's his music, his band, obviously he and the guys can do whatever they want. I will never understand why they chose this route though.

That's exactly what he means. People that complain about the music not always catering to what they want.

No, people complain because the music is crap. Release a well thought out, inspired, catchy pop song, and people will dig it. Release this garbage, people will complain. Just my opinion. I get that some people like it, I don't know why they do, but I understand that it works for some.

  8. It's called having an opinion...? I think this is an amazing song, just because I like it doesn't make me or anyone a little kid.

I don't care what people like or don't like.you like this, cool. I think it's pure pop garbage. Both of these songs are huge steps backwards for the band. Why make crappy pop songs? Why bring in outside writers? You can hear the influence of these people who are typically writing songs for Katy Perry and Bieber. Why would they want to go that route? People can say what they want, but this is all Mike and Brad. They're so obsessed with each album sounding different, that they don't care what that different sound actually is. These songs will be awful at concerts. Who knows if they'll even play them. They don't play much of their current album on tours these days anyway. Whatever, I'm done with this topic. Enjoy the music.

  9. No, I was very clear about what you both (basically all of us here) can or can't do and how. I don't think that there's any point to explain it again so you can just reread my reply if you haven't understood my explanation.

Whatever dude....moving on. I don't honestly care that much. Used to love this band and this site.... now the music is garbage and the site has become a bunch of little kids freaking out every time someone unearths some horrible demo. LP could literally release the worst music ever and somebody would tell you how epic it is.

  10. Yeah, so like I said...Astat gets to say whatever he wants because you know him, but that doesn't apply to others....seems fair.

The answer is very simple: we're all (staff, members, readers) prefer to read music-related comments and not a personal duel, but while Astat's smart enough to hide his opinion about you behind criticism (+ in the bottom of an actual comment) you're way too direct ("douche", "dick", "dickhead", etc.) with your counters and that's definitely unacceptable. Feel free to fly under the radar and reply, no action is taken as long as you both don't bother the other people who are using that site.

DEFINITELY nothing to do with your or his opinion about the music or the band.

Yeah, so like I said....Astat can say whatever he wants because you know him, but that doesn't apply to others....seems logical.

Take a chill pill. I've seen some of the mods give the new tracks a couple hits because they don't like Heavy or Battle Symphony. Don't put yourself on a pedestal either. You toss your insults around more than a salad. It doesn't make your opinions & insults any better than someone who enjoys the music or someone that calls you out on thorough inconsistencies (Astat of course). Its one thing to discuss and debate, its another to act like a 4 year old.

I've never insulted anyone on here, other than Astat. And the only reason I do, is because he always has some wise ass, I'm smarter than you, thing to say to me. So do me a favor, spare me the bs about my behavior.

  11. I love how Astat can talk crap to me, but when I reply, some moderator decides they have to remove my post. What's the deal here? Astat has free reign to talk crap, but I'm not allowed to reply to him? He acts like a know it all dickhead 90% of the time, but I guess that's ok. This place has become a joke. I guess as long as you love everything LP does and agree with the higher ups, you're all good.

  12. LOL, you guys...this is so much better than Heavy, it's laughable that any of you would put it in the same league.

"Could've made this in ten minutes?" SERIOUSLY? There's so much stuff going on in this song I don't even know where to begin. The vocal production on this may not be as dense as Heavy, but there's a ton more going on instrumentally. Lots of layered keyboard and guitar sounds, that main stuttering loop thing sounds like a vocal idea that had a ton of work done to it, I'm pretty sure those are live strings in the buildup to the last chorus...not to mention how many variations on percussion sounds there are in different spots. Just because it's pop doesn't mean it's easy...production-wise, this is seriously one of the most ambitious things Linkin Park has ever released.

Chester sounds way better on this than he does on Heavy. The melody is better than Heavy. The chord progression actually changes at some points, unlike Heavy. This song actually has a proper intro and ending, unlike Heavy. If One More Light has a song like this on it, Heavy should've been a throwaway co-write for Kiiara's next album where she could just sing the whole song, because a song like that has no business sharing space on an album with something as vastly superior as this. This should've been the first single, but yay for popstar guest spots taking priority over songwriting...

My biggest criticism of this song is that the lyrical idea seems really disjointed, like it's a bunch of sort-of-related ideas stitched together to form a song, but it doesn't sound like a consistent narrative the whole way through. Seems like something that would normally go through some lyrical re-writes. In that regard, I can agree with some of the "sounding like a demo" comments, although I doubt that's the context most of those comments were made in to begin with.

Heavy is one of the worst tracks in the Linkin Park catalog. If Heavy's like a 2 out of 10, this song's easily a 7.

Still hung up on the idea that a singular quote made in reference to the thought process behind the creation of a single album should somehow be considered a binding contract not to make a particular kind of music ever at any point in the future, huh? I don't see you bitching about Wastelands existing despite the "throw out everything that sounds like Hybrid Theory/Meteora" comments made in reference to the writing process for A Thousand Suns...oh wait, Wastelands has big heavy guitarzzzzz, so it should be put on a pedestal and be immune to criticism. I see.

Oh weird, you skip over all the other criticisms, and choose to quote only me. Shocking. As usual, I don't mention you, but you just can't help being a douche, and have to mention me. I'm sorry that my opinions bother you so much.
  13. What the hell happened to this band? Seriously, what happened to making original songs that made you want to listen to them over and over again? This sounds like pure garbage. I've lost any hope for this album at this point. Mike saying that everything he was hearing on the radio sounded the same, and then releasing this crap a few years later is the definition of hypocrisy.

  14. If there's nothing to say, then don't. But you still criticize the song. It's awful because you can't accept the fact that it's LP song (band that produced nu-metal stuff). If you understand the song, you'll not find it boring. Funny when people think LP produced "garbage" while everything they created is an art, not just random trash songs. You can keep saying it's awful to yourself because it's your opinion, rite?

Not liking this song has nothing to do with nu-metal. The song is embarrassingly simple and generic. It's nothing more than a radio friendly pop tune. And whether they admit it or not, after THP, this is exactly what they were going for. THP got zero radio exposure, and even though bands say they don't care about things like that, they do....and more importantly, labels do. I just find it all to be ironic, since Mike trashed exactly this type of music leading up to THP.
