04.07.2011 - London, England - iTunes Festival

I completely agree with you! We are like some of the very few people, who know a lot about everything going on around the band and the live performances, we follow setlists, news and discuss all of it, but the majority of fans (fans being human beings, who like the music LP makes [and consider to go to one of their concerts]) does not. See, when I went to the Summit in Hamburg a few weeks ago, I really started to get back into LPL again, to see your opinions, to know, whom I might be meeting, to know what songs they might play. I certainly hoped for something special at the concert because of the Summit. We all do hope for something special at the concert we go to, but while there, listening to one of the most awesome bands I know, singing, rocking, dancing, doing whatever you guys like to do at concerts - it doesn't matter at all. We're just happy. And the thousands of other fans enjoy the concert even more because they didn't even think about something "special" to happen. Yeah, seeing a song like With You every once in a while would be kinda nice, but if they don't do it… So what? We still enjoy the concerts, though we might not enjoy the DSP so much because we know all of it already. But we still like the music. And there will be more new stuff coming up, we'll hopefully be enjoying as well. And more awesome concerts! -

OK, but that is not that big a deal, is it? OK, for all of you who might have that problem, do the following: Click iTunes Store in the left sidebar. Scroll down and switch the country by clicking the flag in the bottom right corner (I suggest making it American, British, German, French… Some country of which you 100% sure streaming will be possible. Britain and Germany will work, I can tell you that for sure ). Go to the AppStore section via the menu bar of the store at the top. Select some free App to download, it really does not matter at all which one, and click "Download" (or something similar). Now you're asked to create an account. Follow the steps, I don't think there'll be any problems, BUT: Make it a fake address of the country you chose. Next up you will be asked for a billing method - just check "None". That should be possible when downloading a free app from the store (at least it was last year and it's a common trick to create an account in another country/without a billing method. If it's no longer possible I'm sorry to have wasted your time…). B00m, you should have a new iTunes account with all you need to watch the show LP will put up Oh, and I have to agree with most of you here - whatever the "surprise" will be, it's awesome that they stream the show in high quality for free, that they'll make it available to us and that there will be some surprise of some kind! Don't hate on Mike or LP. We're too often thinking DSP and not live performance. -

Good question, actually. I don't really need to worry because I do have an account and I do not hate on Apple for whatever [stupid] reason (really… I kinda like the brand, but different story), but for all of you without an account this might be kind of a deal breaker, which I could understand, I don't like to register everywhere either. However, as there's a support band and setting up an account doesn't take up that much time, you guys won't have any problems if it doesn't work without one and you still wanna watch the show. EDIT: No, you don't have to, when downloading. You are suggested to, I guess, but I'm 99.9% () sure you're not forced to. -

Setlist-thing might be quite interesting, whether they really play the same set over and over. I don't know about Encores at Festivals, though… -
Kay, so I sticked with "Don't Stay", "Jigga What/Faint" and "The Catalyst" - I agree with Rob_Wilson, though. It's kinda hard not looking like an ATS-hater/HT lover, when being honest. In my opinion the "problem" with ATS is, that it's a true masterpiece. It's more of an opera, looking at it from a structural point of view (yeah, I know, hard to compare), so it's freaking amazing when listening to it completely, but the songs taken one by one are great - but apparently don't reach the level of former stuff. Just an opinion, though, nothing to believe in

Oh boy, this is hard…

21.06.2011 - Hamburg, Germany - LPU Summit #4
Silvano_D replied to hahninator's topic in Previous Show Discussion
I'll be attending the Summit and the show, as well. I'm not sure, whether I'll be able to meet you guys at the LPL-Meeting-thing, but I'll sure try so! I'm hoping for some acoustic stuff and something special, whether it'd be With You or anything else we haven't seen/heard in a while. But I know it's gonna be an amazing concert anyway =) -
I don't really know LPA too well, so I can't really tell anything too serious, but for what it sounds like they are copying. I mean, if it's not just you who noticed it seems obvious. I've been in the online-magazine-forum "business" myself for a little while, not concerning LP, but I don't think that makes any difference. Copying content from each other is usual, I guess. Somebody finds something out, they post it, you post it as well, quoting or referencing to your source - that's just being honest and respectful in my opinion. What you don't do, is copy the structure and (concluding) questions of a post - that's just… bad. As I stated before, I don't know how you guys know each other, or how exactly LPA is working and all of that, but what I'm saying is - if you talk to him nicely, you might be able to find a peaceful solution anyway @linkin_boss Blackout ain't included in B-13 usually, is it?
-
I guess any joke I'd make at this point would kind of insult the GDR, so… No, seriously, I know a few people from Leipzig and its surroundings and they seem very nice, so no offense! - and yeah, for LP you probably seemed special! EDIT (2): Oh, nice, they got Reading My Eyes, a drum solo and APFMH!
-
So, no Blackout today, it seems. SOTD's back in, and for real… I do not really believe in any more surprises tonight!
-
Well, never lose hope, though, right?
-
Agreed, saw that one already! Thanks, man! EDIT: @navabaca: They always do that, with Wretches and Kings, as well as with Papercut after the The Requiem-Intro

So, I'm really hoping for some good new stuff for PR this summer. In Germany we've had some of the sets already last year during ATS-World Tour, and for real, what did change in those except for a very few songs…? I'd love to see something really special after the Summit in HH. The crowd would completely freak for somewhat like Figure.09 or Don't Stay or what ever else great song we haven't heard in a while. Even something like Pushing Me Away, which I guess Rob mentioned once in an interview (?), or My December would be amazing. What I really happen to notice every time I see LP play live/watching LP live videos is how Brad changed his way of playing. He sure moves around the stage but kind of in a different way than he did a few years ago. It's not bad, really, but it's different and it looks a little less excited, so to say. Anyway, I'm still looking forward to the Summit in HH and who knows… Maybe all of us will be excited tomorrow already, when we have the first revolutionary setlist Oh, by the way, didn't you guys have a list of all the setlist used since ATS somewhere? I searched for it a few days ago, but couldn't really find, so a link would be quite nice
-
Right, thanks, I wouldn't have seen that second Link, either.
-
Reserved my spot, will buy the tickets in a couple hours/days. MAN! IT'S SO AWESOME
-
What I personally really enjoy about this song is that it gives me this kinda feeling you have when something special is going on. I have some good memories to this song, maybe that's even making this feeling stronger, but I guess and hope the song will fit into the movie, just as New Divide and What I've Done did

First of all: Thanks to this special opportunity to get something so special! This is, what´s typical for LP - and I don´t know any other band, that does something similar! To me there were many, many insane and beautiful moments with LP… Also many of them have been mentioned before here: Fans playing Faint on the guitar, fans singing with the band at RAR, the cover of Wish, QWERTY… We could make a huge list of big moments, but I guess this is not the intention of this giveaway-"competition" Anyway, my favorite moment - even though I wasn´t actually part of it - was when Chester broke his wrist on the stage while Papercut in Melbourne, Australia on 15th October 2007. He did his jump-thing from one of the stairs on the stage and fell. What he didn´t know then: He broke his wrist…! And now this is the amazing thing: He didn´t care about the pain, he just went on singing!! Actually they had to stop the show for a short time, but after he had some ice on his wrist he just played on. Man, hello? He had a fu**ing pain and he _just played on_! The funniest thing was the documentary they did afterwards: Mike was telling how he himself realized what was going on and how he decided to play on: "I just though: If it´s broken now, it´s gonna be just as broken in an hour" Let´s hope for more awesome moments with LP, thanks again for this giveaway Greetz
