  1. MTM was actually more of a departure from their ''sound'' than ATS was to be honest. A good majority of ATS sounds like typical Linkin Park to me.

Lol! Good joke. ATS is obviously more of a departure than MTM. I don't even need to argument on that. I know MTM is your favorite record but still, you need to be objective.

or why Mike and Chester both have stated that it is their favorite album so far.

When did they say that? if it was before ATS, it doesn't make sense to report it. And I don't think MTM is Chester's favorite album so far. I remember him saying "ATS is the only record we've made I like all the songs from"
  2. Slip is the "unknown song" that we heard in the video "jammin with HT" by marc ostric

Yes, it's true, good find! :)

Anyway, after having listened to the cd 2 times, I have to say it's pure gold. I'm totally enjoying the old school spirit that lot of the songs have. To me, Slip could even have been on HT instead of Runaway. Broken Foot is kickass, even though the intro/outro riff makes me think of A-six and lacks of originaly. Program is really really good too.

And strangely, I feel like Robot boy is in better place on this CD than on ATS. It brings on a calm and cool vibe after some heavy riffs, while in ATS, it comes way too soon on the record, only making me feel more sleepy after The Requiem and BITS. But maybe that's only me :P

  3. Basically that the band had an idea of playing Qwerty but Chester didn't want to. He never wants to play anything good. I wish Mike would just be like ''We're fucking playing it, get over it''.

Shit, Qwerty 'd have been a great addition to the setlist. I also remember Chester once refused to play Reading My Eyes when the rest of the band was ok to play it. That's quite annoying from him. :-/
  4. I'd also like to hear some stuff from the beginning stages of A Thousand Suns to see how that album changed from its inception to the version we got.

Yes, that's the second thing I'm looking the most forward after the MTM heavy demos. And also, I wonder if "I have not begun" was created at the begining of the ATS process, or more in the middle of it.
  5. Hybrid Theory

    A Placed For My Head

    One Step Closer

    Points Of Authority

    Meteora

    Figure.09

    Don't Stay

    Session

    Minutes To Midnight

    No More Sorrow

    Given Up

The Little Things Give You Away

    A Thousand Suns

    Waiting For The End

    Blackout

    The Catalyst

ATS was the album with the most difficulties to choose. When They Come For Me could easily have been there instead of The Catalyst.

  6. I want Xero DSP!!!!! lol

But yeah, it would be cool if they released those missing dsp, especially the one which features the last live version of Runaway.

  7. Yes, the fact they've played this song for longer than others can maybe explain why Chester is so sick of it. But for example, Points was played live for over 9 years, and the band still seems to like it, regarding the song almost made its come-back at the end of 2010.

Another interesting thing which was mentionned a couple of times by the guys, Runaway was one of the song they've worked the more on during the HT era, when they were trying to give the demo "Stick'n' move" its final form. I may be wrong, but I think Chester even said in a interview they created OSC during a break they took after working on Runaway chorus for a very long moment. And finally, Runaway was achieved later. Maybe they worked so much on that song that Chester is kind of disappointed with the final product. He could be thinking "This song could have been way more badass than it is, such a shame". :P

  8. Well, I see...anyway, despite the fact the lyrics of WWDK are not very optimistic, the general vibe of the song and the catchy chorus give this song a positive vibe to me. But it's because of my opinion, I've always though the instrumental of a song is the most important thing to make a song feel positive or negative.

For example, there's a depeche mode song which is titled "Sometimes I wish I was dead", which is a pretty dark name, but the song in itself have a hilarous instrumental...which isn't depressing at all :P

  9. I was just wondering. Each time a journalist or a fan or anyone else ask Chester which LP song he doesn't like the most, he always answers "Runaway". And also, when he's asked which old LP songs they could bring back to the set, he often say "Hum...certainly not runaway!".

I personnally think the main reason of that is the lyrics of the song, which are pretty childish IMO. But I mean, if you look at the composition in itself, it' s not that bad. Not original, but not bad. So, what is your opinion about all of this?
