I want to let myself fantasize about how I would like to see the Hybrid Theory 2020 tracklist. It seems strange to me that something is left uncovered. It would be strange to release tracks from this era in the future, so I don't think the band will go back to that again. Therefore, we would like to see this release as the most complete. For me, grouping like in this release doesn't look very logical (it's logical, but I don't like it). I would do something like this (more like chapters).
    Your attention:

    Hybrid Theory:
    1. Papercut
    2. One Step Closer
    3. With You
    4. Points Of Authority
    5. Crawling
    6. Runaway
    7. By Myself
    8. In The End
    9. A Place For My Head
    10. Forgotten
    11. Cure For The Itch
    12. Pushing Me Away
    13. High Voltage
    14. My December

    Hybrid Theory Live CD
(All live recordings from this era for each song, maybe including covers, I won't list them)

    Hybrid Theory EP
    1. Carousel
    2. Technique (Short)
    3. Step Up
    4. And One
    5. High Voltage
    6. Part Of Me

Hybrid Theory Demos (From Hybrid Theory 9-track demo CD):

    1. Untitled
    2. Points & Authority
    3. Super Zero
    4. Crawling
    5. Carousel
    6. Part Of Me
    7. Rhinestone
    8. Esaul

    Alternative Demos/Versions:
    1. Plaster (David Kahne mix)
    2. Papercut (Hybrid Theory 6-track demo)
    3. Crawling (Hybrid Theory 6-track demo)
    4. Points of Authority (Hybrid Theory 6-track demo)
    5. Dust Brothers (Hybrid Theory 6-track demo)
    6. By Myself (Hybrid Theory Unmastered or Much Too Easy)
    7. The Cure (Hybrid Theory Unmastered)

    Outtakes:
    1. She Couldn't
    2. Technique (Original ver.)
    3. Dedicated
    4. Slip
    5. Pictureboard
    6. Could Have Been
    7. So Far Away
    8. Blue
    9. Coal
    10. Stick N Move

    Sketches:
    1. Oh No
    2. Grr
    3. Sad (Acetate)
    4. Stick And Move (LPU9)
    5. Hurry
    6. Chair
    7. Pods

    Xero Demos (Zomba Sessions):
    1. Rhinestone
    2. Esaul
    3. Pictureboard

I guess during the Zomba Sessions, only these tracks were recorded. "These demos (which were re-recorded with Chester) have live drums, and for example the track "Slip" has a program beat. I don't think it was recorded with Mark. These three tracks must have been sent to Chester on the audition tape.
Maybe Rapology tracks could be included here.

Xero Cassette (instead of a Hybrid Theory sampler):
    1. Rhinestone
    2. Reading My Eyes
    3. Fuse
    4. Stick N Move
    5. Dialate (I don't know exactly where to put it)

It's strange that only Reading My Eyes was released from this tape. It seems that a cassette release would be more interesting.

Something like this. I must have missed something. I think In The End Demo and Esaul from LPU11 could remain LPU exclusives.
    I wouldn't include Reanimation here.

I'd love to hear your thoughts. I apologize if something is written incorrectly, I use Google Translate)

I forgot - instead of Rock Am Ring it was necessary to release something else... This show was not seen probably only by a blind person) It would be possible to release at least Rock Im Park.

This is pretty cool! I'm also a completionist and had to make a playlist for myself with all the demos in rough order!

All I'd change here, is keep High Voltage/My December with the "outtakes" (as realistically, adding 2 more tracks to the HT vinyl would make it too long to fit on two sides)
And I'd put dialate with them too, as Coal is also a Xero demo. :D

Idk if someone has already noted this, but it strikes me as weird that there's no live version of Reading My Eyes in the release. Seems like if they were gonna include the Mark Xero version, they would also treat fans who are hearing it for the first time to hearing Chester's take on it live.

I thought about that too. Considering we're Getting the live version of High Voltage. But we're also not getting Pushing me Away (Live piano version) either. So i guess as both were performed in 2006 they don't "fit" in the HT album cycle window.

Because there's none. What you saw there it exists because they were messing around, that's it. Not hard to follow.

To be fair (and forgive me if I'm wrong)  if you listen closely to that clip from the making of, Chester is singing over something. Obviously the "Wizard song" itself is just Chester messing around. But there is a distinct instrumental playing in the background that hes singing over (and maybe another vocal track?) Who knows what that was. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Meteora demo akin to the ones released on LPU.

That said I always felt the "demo" tag was always a bit fuzzy when it comes to linkin park: For example What We Don't Know is labelled as an MTM yet was mixed by Neil Avron who mixed the rest of the album and it has become known since then that it almost ended up on the album. To me at that point is not a "demo" anymore. Same with Across The Line

I agree. Those songs you mentioned, plus Blackbirds, Pretend to be, and even songs like Dedicated just sound like b-sides due to their production being almost equal to the albums they originated from.

    06. FORGOTTEN DEMOS (43:35)

    1. Dialate (Xero Demo) (03:24)
    2. Pictureboard (04:01)
    3. She Couldn't (05:05)
    4. Could Have Been (04:37)
    5. Reading My Eyes (Xero Demo) (02:59)
    6. Rhinestone (Xero Demo) (03:40)
    7. Esaul (Xero Demo) (03:07)
    8. Stick N Move (Demo) (03:17)
    9. Carousel (Demo) (02:58)
    10. Points of Authority (Demo) (03:20)
    11. Crawling (Demo) (03:49)

I wonder if this Rhinestone is the Zomba music/Crow version that leaked this year?

Part of Me indeed is the real forgotten one. Only real bummer for me.

Out of the Xero tape, Fuse is also absent.

Any other missings ones? Just out of curiosity, for completeness-sake 😛

You know what, apart from Part of me  & Fuse, I think they covered everything.

Though I wonder if the reason Fuse isn't on there is because they never recorded another version after the Xero tape. Its quiet possible they ditched it early on. 🤔

Coal is track 12 on LPU Rarities. If I remember right, the Pods were a Mike college project and not actually LP tracks, so I'm not surprised they're not there.

No Part of Me is pretty disappointing considering the post-HTEP demo is different from the album version and absolutely fucking rips.

Oh wow I'm clearly blind! Excellent!

Such a shame about POM  i wonder why it was omitted. Surely not for space? Otherwise I'd have cut Sad & oh No for sure!

  8. Not to nicpick this magnificent release, but the only "umastered" HT demo missing is Part of me (from the 8 Track demo). Goddamit. Carousel is on there. But Part of me isn't! We we're this close! This close to having all the classic HT demos released officially!

Then again, Coal & Pods aren't either, yet Grr & Hurry are. Curious.

  9. I had to return from my slumber to say what magnificent way to celebrate 20 years of this iconic Album.  This past week, reading the updates on Lplive reminded me of old times. The hype and speculation was real. It was almost as if Chester were still with us.

Anyway, I've pre-orderd the super deluxe on Amazon UK.

yes on amazon website i did web chat to talk to member of staff to ask about the product he assured me the product is the deluxe as on his notes confirmed it comes with everything dvds cds vinyls art everything

This was my fear as well! I sure hope we're not being duped! Ha!

  10. Questions we need to know the answer too but probably won't...

    1) will they EVER release the making of THP? Be it on YouTube or a deluxe edition of the album down the line?

    2) will we EVER see any more of THP performed live?

    3) will they reschedual their North American tour later this year?

    4) Pictureboard? :P

In all seriousness I don't care about PB anymore. I just want to know what's up with the first 3 things. Even if he's brutally honest, and says "oh THP making of can't be released due to legal reasons and the new songs don't sound that great live." I mean that'll suck big time, but I'd except that and move on

  11. With the rules that we revised this year, youtube links are allowed unless they contains a download link in the description, since youtube doesn't officially allow downloading. Otherwise we'd have to warn everyone who posts a youtube video by the another band for example, that's pretty dumb.

Radio edits are not official material if you can't buy them. Very simple, if you can buy it it's not allowed.

But you can't buy the HT and Meterora instrumentals so...... :P

  12. ALITS has to be played at some point in their career. It'll be tough to pull off regardless, but it would be majestic if they nailed it. Potentially the best song LP could play live. Or the most disapointing... Hopefully not the latter!

Also, they really need to drop LITE already, theres really no point playing it now. BID, New Divide, and Papercut JUST ABOUT work shortened but LITE barely exsists, just drop it and extend papercut. Done! Perfect set!

  13. Was there a copyright issue with the HT + M instrumentals having direct links in the forums?

Was there a copyright issue with the HT + M instrumentals having direct links in the forums?

Yup, sure is. Don't link them whatever yo do or your threads or posts will get deleted, so be careful of what you say bout em! :P
  14. ...

    Well said Hahninator.

Though I'm surprised you like the stick n move and by myself demos from LPU9. Those ones I tend to skip a fair bit!

Anyway, People need to realise that LP aren't a conventional band. They don't have 90 full length finished demos liying about. Most of the demos they have left are pretty much like the 10 songs we have here. The juciy ones have either already been realeased or being saved for future LPU albums.

Look at it this way guys. If we heard the Rhinocerious demo in an LPTV episode from 2006 we'd be requesting it constantly like we are with that "Pride" demo or "Grecian".

LPU XIV is a really interesting album. It's so cool to hear some many heavy demos for once. I'd take XIV over LPU 3.0, 5.0 and 7 any day.
