  1. So if they actually are going to play High Voltage (maybe), I think My December might be possible. Maybe not, because it's a softer song, but LP has done plenty of softer songs at Download before. It'd be cool to see them play the Japanese Edition of HT in full, AKA the album + High Voltage & My December.

Why does everyone think they'll play "My Decmeber" at a hard rock/metal festival in th middle of summer, on the tour for their most "aggressive" albums to date?

I think the best. We'll get it HT live + 10 more "hits" from the other 4 albums + GATS, UIG and maybe a couple more THP tracks?

  2. Well here goes...

    IN MY REMAINS

    LEAVE OUT ALL THE REST

    IN BETWEEN

    BURN IT DOWN

    RUNAWAY

The main reason. I don't like/skip these tracks is mainly because they either sound too "safe" or predictable. I mean, LOATR is a good song with great lyrics, but I've never got into it for it always sounded too poppy. All 5 play it safe and don't do much within their 3 min timeframe. And runaway?i used to love it, but now it just seems like the weakest song in HT. Weird cause I originally disliked the remix more, now things have reversed

"sick n Move"s rap verses would have made the song more interesting to me.

  3. This will no doubt change when THP comes out, but anyway...

    10) CASTLE OF GLASS

Yes it's short, but it's still such a unique song. Fantastic melodies and folk style.

    9) WHEN THEY COME FOR ME

Bonkers but brilliant. From the tribal drums to the chanting chorus/ending. It's LP at there most polarising.

    8) WAITING FOR THE END

Dynamic, beautiful, and mesmerising. The perfect pop rock single that dares to be different.

    7) NO MORE SORROW

Eerie, heavy and brutal. Fantastic drums and guitar hook. Includes some of Chester's best vocal work.

    6) PAPERCUT

Classic LP. The archetypal song. Powerful and emotional ending.

    5) AND ONE

Superb guitar work. Great song structure. Killer vocals and lyrics by Chester. Brilliant delivery from Mike.

    4) PART OF ME

The magnum opus of LP's old sound. Intricate guitar, jamming bass lines, deep and dark lyrics and delivery by mike. Incredible performance from Chester.

    3) A PLACE FOR MY HEAD

The best heavy track the band has made hands down. With the best guitar hook of brads career.

    2) THE LITTLE THINGS GIVE YOU AWAY

Their masterpiece. An acoustic lullaby that builds to an epic crescendo. The band put their all into this song.

    1) IN PIECES

My personal favourite. Gorgeous melodies and chord progressions, poetic lyrics, with a dramatic ending.

  4. Also I fucked up. it's 7:30 BST, not 7:30 GMT. I didn't know London switched timezones. Oops.

    7:30 BST / 6:30 GMT. :)

See now I'm confused.... So it's 6:30 GMT now, and not 7:30 GMT?

And I'm from the UK! I thought this was suppose to be easy for us

  5. Super awesome! Certainly better than the leaked track list from last week!

Also about any instrumentals/interludes that could or could not appear on the album...

If there is, I really hope it's long one. 9+ minutes, Metallica style jam full of riffs, hooks and grooves.

Even if it's just to troll the fans that dislike instrumentals to ignore a 9+ minute song would be to disregard at least a quarter of the album  make it so LP!

And I also really hope the album is more than 45 minutes long.

  6. Nice track list. Shame it isn't real (at least not yet) but I'm thinking the official thing won't be that different.

Also what's with the beef with the LPA in this thread? Where's all the hate come from? All they've done is not report/post this rumour on their newsfeed. That's all. It's their loss if there not reporting it and it's up to them if they want to lose traffic because of it  It's not affecting LPL in any way.

This feud between the sites gets on my nerves sometimes. Just like Marvel vs. DC fans have it out for each other.

  7. Obviously for me it'll have to be....

    * Re record "In the End" with mikes "the Untitled" demo lyrics in the verses.

    * add Mikes harmonies and background vocals to "A Place for Amy head" from th Esaul demos.

    * add Chester's scream from the Part of Me demo to the HTEP version of Part of Me

    * re record High voltage reprise with the guitar part heard in the live version.

    * add the "ticking clock" intro (heard in the third encore session) to The intro to No more sorrow

    * combine all the interludes from Reanimation/A thousand Suns to the beings or endings of the full songs.

    * re record a studio version QWERTY more akin to the live version.

    * remix\remaster Living Things and Out of ashes entirely.

  8. SBD audio from Rock Am Ring 2001, played before And One. The Rock Im Park one from the day before is a decent audience audio recording, the Tinley Park one from June 8th (played before In the End) is terrible quality, plus it doesn't have any drums like it did at the first two performances.

I think it's likely that they played Be Yourself at the June 4th Brixton Academy show too, but there's no recording of it.

Ah nice, thanks. I think I may have a rec of the Tinley park performance as Brad plays the guitar harmonics of In the end right before the recording cuts out.

  9. There is a chance of LP releasing a live DVD/CD of this show. Slipknot did the same thing back for there 2009 headlining slot at download festival. Recorded and filmed the entires set, and it was a fantastic representation of the night. It only makes sense Lp does this for their night. If anything they have even more reason too than Slipknot as they're performing an album in full. I'll be gutted if it doesn't happen.

  10. Well here we go again! xD

    1. Pictureboard (copyright free!) never gonna happen

    2. She Couldn’t (copyright free!)

    3. Thoughts That Take Away My Pride demo

    4. Grecian (if it was finished, but even if it wasn't they've released lesser demos on LPU)

    5. My December (Team Sleep Remix) for the millionth time

    6. LOATR -Mike Vox

    7. TLTGYA - Mike Vox

    8. Something cool

    9. Something Cool

    10. Something cool

  11. Someone asked Rob on Facebook during his chat "Hi Rob! We already know the opinions from Mike and Chester about it.. So I'm interested to know yours..How would you describe the new material that the band is composing? Will you have a more active role in it?" and he said "Yes, we've been working on new music and I'm personally very excited about the direction of the new album. Its hard to tell exactly how its going to turn out at this time but we've been spending a lot of time together in the studio and I've done a lot of drumming over the last month. I would definitely say live drums have a more active role in what we are doing."

    Good to hear, right?

Also, two of his favorite songs to perform live are Somewhere I Belong and No More Sorrow.

Oh wow that's awesome! even though it's hardly anything and real easy to glance over that's Really good news. A raw-er more less electronic album would be very welcome!

  12. Ah very intriguing! Your probably right. Although I always felt it sounded like an outtake from the HTEP itself. Almost like it was written and recorded during those sessions but cut out last minute due to it fitting with the rest of the 6ish songs. Possibility? They probably did polish it up further for LPU2, which wouldn't surprise me as it sounds too much like a complete song and not a demo at all.

  13. Wow this is a really interesting topic. I'd be intrigued to see where some of these demos fit in this whole time frame. For example, "she couldn't". Is that one of the early batch of demos done before the HTEP like slip, blue and so far away(not sure about this one either) or was it written and recorded later for a specific inclusion to Hybrid theory? The song "Dedicated" too raises similar questions.

    I wonder....

  14. Haha this thread is golden!

I think mine would be as follows:

I thought the songs "dedicated" and "system" where both solo efforts from mike and Chester. Though I was partly right with system it was a few months before I knew its origin from the "queen of the damned" OST and that Dedicated was actually an old LP b-side!

My other involved The songs Part of Me+ambient. I originally downloaded the majority of LP's music from Limewire, WinMX or other free mp3 sites. When I downloaded part of me it was a cut 4 min version of the song. A while later while downloading other songs I saw there was a "12" minute version of part of me. Imediatly I downloaded it thinking it was a super awesome extended version of the song, only to discover a lot of random static for the rest of the song. I stupidly deleted it before getting to the Ambient part of the track. Later I found out my mistake and promptly re downloaded the track

    I'll post more once I remember. I'm sure I have loads I've forgotten :D

  15. I agree. It's great they're making music quickly but that was the biggest flaw with LT - you could tell the quality wasn't there and the time that was spent on the other records wasn't spent on LT. I hope they don't come out with another product like that. For example, with MTM and ATS, it seems like they spent many many months working on those demos, tweaking them to perfection, etc. With LT, it's like the band was like "lol oh we have this random seed....let's put it with this....and add this sampled beat...aaaaand Brad you sing here....aaaaand here's UNTIL IT BREAKS!"

I don't get why everyone hates UIB. It's easily the most unusual and experimental song off LT. Quite in contrast to all the other safe and poppy songs like BID and IBG. Which is probably why I like it so much.

More songs like UIB, Skin to bone, Victimized and Roads untravelled on the next album please! Thanks! :P

Well like others have said, its only cause we read these threads first, then only log in to post. Less effort. I know, we're lazy :D

I especially like the part when his face is covered by the mic mount...

Yeah, that really irked me. Why film him with a gorgeous HD camera only to have the mic right in his face

TOTAL opposite opinion here. I don't think The Messenger has EVER sounded good in any key they've tried it in. Taking it down that low sucks all of the emotion out of it and turns it into a sleepy campfire singalong/lullaby-sounding snoozefest that sounds like it was written in 5 minutes.

Totaly agree, I'd rather hear chester perform a lung shreading version where his voice cracks and falters from the high notes than a boring, run of the mill performance thats technically perfect, but devode of soul. The imperfections in the album version annoy me on occasion, but I still always seem swept up in the emotion in his powerful performance.

They should have a new rule when they create songs

If we can't play this shit live, then we don't record it, Chester has never tried to sing this song like in the studio version, at least with Crawling he tried.

We don't need more robot boys.

Well I a disagree a bit here. I'd rather they create the odd terrific album song even if it means its unplayable live. I love Robot Boy unlike the few, and though I'm sad to see it hasn't seen the light of day on stage, it has this mystique about it, like many of their older songs/b-sides on LPU.

  17. well for me its like the first half of LT is kinda too "safe" for my hears. Its good music, and LP's stamp is all over it, but to me it doesn't measure up with some of the bands best one. The 2nd half of the album on the other hand is different story. Alot more unique songs, more experimentation and interest.

Back to the video interview.... Great news. I really hope there next album moves further away from their old sound and branches out even more than ATS did. They really need to ditch their commercial sound and go the Radiohead route and make some real "art" i know the band can do it, they really need to show the world what their made of.

  18. I don't get why everyone hates LPU12. Still loads better than 3, 5 & 7! -_-

I'd rather have neat instrumentals than live tracks we've heard a million times before.

Anyway, For the LPU CD's I'd probably rate them as follows:

    1 > 10 > 11 > 6 > 9 > 12 > 2 > 4 > 8 > 7 > 5 > 3

  19. Definitely...

    1. My December (Team Sleep Remix)

    2. No Roads Left (Chester's Vocals)

    3. The Little Things Give You Away (All Mike's Vocals)

    4. Pictureboard

    5. "Thoughts take away my pride" Meteora demo

    6. Leave Out All The Rest (Mike's Full Version)

Feels like we've been asking for these every year
