  1. Wow. These recordings feel so claustrophobic, because of the stupid mixing. They should leave some of the crowd in the mix, and blend the onboard recordings with recordings from mics in the crowd, to give the instruments that reverb-feel they get in a real live situation.

    This feels like LP are performing infront of an imaginary crowd. Looks incredibly silly and lonely when Chester sings infront of the crowd in the end of Breaking The Habit. And that last "tonight" by the crowd haha, sounds so stupid, it was all ready being turned down in the mix while it was yelled. Thank god Pooch is better at this.

  2. Rob = Drums = live

    Mike = Keyboards = live

    Chester = vocals/drums = live

    Brad = Keyboards/drums = live

    The only 2 people doing "non-live" instruments are Phoenix and Joe, and I guess you could argue the same for the trigger part Chester plays during the glitch breakdown.

    I'm beginning to suspect Chester's drum part on the triggers to be fake and sampled. It's only obivous when you keep your eyes on him the entire breakdown. Especially the end. He ends with the same fill that he played earlier, but this time it can't be heard. Plus, he missed that same fill just before. And in the break where he dosn't play, it dosn't look like he comes in at the right spot again. I don't know, I'm not sure yet.

    Hard to explain, you guys should go see for yourself.

  3. both sound amazing... well done LP... but chester please SHUT UP when mike sings :P

    No he shouldn't. Harmonies makes the verses a lot more interesting (when they work), plus Chester is doing the exact same thing on the record. Why shouldn't he do that live?

    I'm sorry but I hate to see them just pressing buttons all together in Blackout. Everything is sampled,that's not even live music. At least Chester does a good job.

    Proof of this? Nothing looks sampled to me? It is not tight enough for that.

    In my opinion, that is a great and very energic part of the song. You can definitely see that the band loves playing it, compared to some of the old stuff. And it looks and sounds awesome. I don't think they pretend playing anything right now. Now they even play the New Divide bridge live too.

  4. Exactly. It was the setlist above. It was really really good. Chester was full of energy tonight. Check out Given Up when it comes up.

    I hoped for the setlist with Messenger, Papercut and APFMH (in whatever way), and that's what I got. Nice.

    The crowd went nuts when they got into the bridge of APFMH in Bleed it Out! It was crazy!

  5. Ah, this is what they Linkin Park sounds like without clicktrack.

    I thought Chester sounded a little out of time during the "You tried to take the best of me.." part in the bridge. Apart from that, hurray!

    Yes, way out of time. I believe the reason why Mike called it "unrehearsed" is really because they had no clicktrack to follow, like they always have, so he was a afraid they might mess up some places. They know that song to death, so it had nothing to do with the lyrics, chords, patterns etc. Only tightness. That's why Brad messed up slowing down in the intro too.

    But really, I don't blame them, I know what it's like to play live. Chester couldn't hear Rob in the whisper section, so only when he looked at him, he could follow him. That's not his fault.

    Brad where distracted by the crowds untight clapping, which always is a nice and appreciated response, though it's very annoying related to tightness.

    Overall, it was still awesome.

  6. Since when has it been about the amount of songs played ffs. ITS ABOUT THE SHOW PEOPLE

    I wouldnt give a fuck if they came out and did 11 songs. As long as they did it in a kick ass way It will be money well spent. Nothing please people these days. Do you realize 24 is the number before 25. Thats 1 fucking song. Hell just so YOU could be happy LP will throw Forward in to make it 25 for you.

    Some people just amaze me with there stupid demands and shit.

    Yes, I agree. With a site like this, the truth is that you often reduce your opinion of a show to being based on the setlist alone. I know I did in the past. That's really a shame, because it may have been so much different than you think in your little head. Despite a bad setlist, the energy could have been awesome, or it could have sucked, even though it was a good setlist.

    I know this is true. I was at the Skive show in Denmark in 2008 and I was hoping to not get that exact setlist we got. And the show was great.

    I know you are aware of this. You all know that it's not only about the setlist. But just don't forget that it can mean a lot less than we really go around thinking sometimes.

  7. I think what Mike is doing in this song is a hybrid of rapping and singing. And it's fucking awesome. I haven't heard anything like it before.

    The funny thing is, the harmony Joe sings can clearly be heard in the end of the song, and he is waaaay better than Chester and Mike is at it sometimes.

    But I must say, the whole band improved their singing very much since last time in the new live situations, including Chester. And I am very optimistic about the new songs live, I was afraid that major parts of the songs would just be backing tracks, because the album is so electronic, but I think they've avoided that so far.

    Awesome.

  8. Well, didn't any of you hear the interview from KROQ breakfest show? He joked, sitting at the keyboard, putting that exact effect over his voice, saying things that were definately not on the album haha. It's obviously an effect you can turn on and off. So it's not lip sync in my opinion.

  9. Hmm. Everything except the gang vocals on The Catalyst was pitch perfect. I wonder how much they edited it.

    If it is fo realz though, hands down, they really improved a lot on the singing since the last time.

    No matter how good they sing, I think that the performances from ATS so far have been very solid, a pleasure to listen to.

  10. I don't think he sounds a thing like David Draiman in the song, but it's been said more than once so maybe I'm just stupid.

    That's because he's basically just an octave above version of David Draiman. They're not identical at all, but the way he sings is very Disturbed to me. Especially the rythms.

  11. Me personal dont like mike singing, cause he just cant sing! He should better rap and let chester do the sing parts!!

    How the hell do all you guys know that Mike can't sing? Ever heard of vocal training? You would all be amazed if you knew how much you can develop a voice over a short period of time. Mike is not stupid, he would not be singing a lot if he knew he would not be able to pull it of live.

    Plus, Chester said not long ago that Mike has "developed" a strong vocal.

  12. NOT THE AUTOTUNING IN THE T-PAIN ETC. STYLE:

    They put a lot of layers and effects over the voices

    maybe autotune is the wrong term...yes it is sorry.

    It might not even be the wrong term. They might have used auto-tune, but then it's for the effect and not pitch-correction.

    I don't like the sound of voice-effects either, only a little plate, reverb, delay, and such.

  13. I seem to remember seeing a thread a few days ago about people complaining about chesters voice not being up to scratch? maybe the autotune is just being used to correct his pitch a tad. DONT READ TO MUCH INTO THIS. its a simple review. autotune dosnt have to make you sound like T-pain, thats not why it was invented and thats not its sole purpose. BUT ofcourse If you dramtically edit the pitch then it distorts the voice.

    I'm sorry, but if they were just using the effect for pitch correction, you wouldn't be able to hear it at all.

    One of my local bands for instance, used a lot of auto-tune in their songs, recorded in a little non-proffesionel studio, and it's impossible to hear.

    So once and for all people:

    IF LP JUST WANTED TO CORRECT THE PITCH, YOU WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO HEAR IT! --> WHAT YOU HEAR ON ATS IS AN EFFECT.

    If you want a link to the local band I'm talking about, I'll post it. Non of you will be able to hear the autotune, and it's even just in some half-assed, non-proffesionel studio.

  14. Dude, i wasnt talking about the pitch.. The guy said that you cant hear auto-tune

    Auto tune, pitch correction, call it whatever you want. If the artist wants it to be impossible to hear that they fixed the wrong notes, it's easy to do, and it's been that for years. Therefore, it's the artists choice if they want that robotic voice, it's more of an effect, cause if they just wanted to just sing clean, even though they could not in real life, they could hide the autotune much better.
