I have converted the original XERO audition tape in GREAT quality. I took the song down from Soundcloud out of respect to the release. Siri now recognizes a song on the demo I have had for 20 years ( Pictureboard )... the others are clear to post, I assume. I have the video they requested for the audition process (at least one band member has confirmed they went through the same process per Mark T) The audio tape is in perfect condition and plays well, the handwriting of "Xero" is most certainly Mike's. I have versions of the tunes when the rapping was the focus of the tune and the singing was the refrain or hook only..... I have my tracking vocals with the audition tape, as well as my demo that got me a Next Day Air Fedex package from Jeff Blue, with lyrics, this demo and the other studio tracks partially finished along with Mike's 4-track ideas
I was going to do a full interview with Mark Terrell ( the admin / founder of this page) but he stopped responding to texts after a preliminary interview, during the week of the the 20yr release ( not sure why? ) I never attempted to leak or detract from any of these tracks, I had NO idea that there was so much interest around this tune..... The original XERO tape was in a case, in my closet for years, the song on Soundcloud was there to substantiate a one-off crazy story .....There is a good story here if you are interested as fans and the true history of something you may not be aware of...... TJ
Wait, are you the guy that leaked Mark´s version of Pictureboard? I´m a bit confused

According to the book: Xero -> Xero 818 -> Hybrid Theory -> Platinum Lotus Foundation -> Plear -> Lincoln Park -> Linkin Park.
The August and November 1998 demos were likely under the name Xero 818. They had been using that name since at least June.
Platinum Lotus Foundation was very quickly in late April.
Plear was in early May for around 12 days. They pressed a CD under this name as mentioned here.
Just wanted to post this information here.
Platinum Lotus Foundation...damn what a name 😂 thank god they didn´t sticked to that

This information just got revealed in a book. Of course there is no information online about this stuff, it just came out. Lmao.
There is no way we will get this stuff anytime soon, if ever. It's just notes about what was going on in the 1997-2000 era.
I think there´s quite the possiblity that we´ll never hear EVERYTHING that the band did from 1997 to 2000. So many variations of several songs, I think some of them will be lost, CDs and tapes too

Yeah that actually makes sense...I guess that I´ll have to wait a few years maybe

Will the band released the Q&A on youtube?

Comparing to the LPU 11, the HT20 version of ITE demo contain:
- slightly different mastering
- it doesn't have 2 seconds of silence at the end like the LPU 11 version
- it has 2 seconds less because of the fade-out at the endAnd it doesn´t have that bass note at the end

I hope Mark or Mike have the Xero version of the song. But I'm just thinking.
I also hope that the Xero version of Slip will be released or leaked possibly.
I don´t think "Slip" with Mark would be released oficially. Mark doesn´t like to have his stuff released. During the unboxing of the "Hybrid Theory 20th Anniversary Edition Super Deluxe Box Set" Mike said: "Begrudgingly, Mark agreed to let us release the songs with his vocals(...)". I think it´s more likely that the Xero version of "Slip" will be leaked some day

If there is a Xero version of Esaul, then is there a Xero version of Slip?
"Slip" had vocals by Mark, but I think that version was never leaked

Pictureboard was on the Xero audition tape?
It seems so! So, on the Xero audition tape, we have: "Esaul", "Rhinestone" and "Pictureboard"! And maybe "Stick N´Move"? Or even Dialate? Those tapes had a tight limit right?

If the version that we are getting has Chester on vocals, why is it called a "Xero Demo"? Wasn't Linkin Park called Hybrid Theory by the time they recorded Rhinestone with Chester?
The band changed their name when Chester joined. The more I think the more I agree with you guys, the demos that Mike referenced to have Mark on vocals have (xero demo) on the name. And "Pictureboard" doesn´t have that, even tho it´s from the xero era, and has Chester on vocals! It looks like that the xero demos that have on the name "(xero demo)" are xero demos with Mark. The ones that don´t have that are demos with Chester´s vocals.

About Rhinestone, though, I'm pretty confident it's going to be a Mark version, given that it's labeled as a Xero demo, and the other three are all Mark demos. It would be a weird break from what that label implies if it's a Chester demo.
Oh yeah, you right about that! Well, let´s just wait until October 9th

The thought process there is that there is almost certainly only one version of any professionally-recorded song with Mark, and a version of Rhinestone that matches this criteria was found on the Zomba New Music Sampler 1999 in January of this year. The track times are almost the same (3:44 on the sampler vs. 3:40 on HT20), so it should be the same version.
I think the LPU12 version is the earliest known version with Chester, and it's the only Chester demo of the song we have besides the Studio Finals version.
I saw on Linkinpedia that the LPU12 version dates from January 7, 2000. It would be weird, in my opinion, if there wasn´t a version of "Rhinestone" with Chester, prior to January 7, 2000. I think there´s quite the possibility that the version we will get has Chester on vocals. We will also getting "Stick N Move" and Mike didn´t referenced that it has Mark´s vocals

I'm confident that it's Mark on vocals on Rhinestone as well and Mike either forgot about it or was thinking of the LPU demo version.
What does make you confident that its going to be Mark on vocals? And another question: what is the earliest version of "Rhinestone" with Chester on vocals? Is it the LPU12 version?
