There's a song on Meteora with a riff that resembles the riff on One Step Closer and it's not From The Inside or Hit The Floor.

yes, Figure.09 does sound a ton like it in the bridge. But how Figure.09 is already on the board so how could it be Plaster II, which is also on the board?

Also really cool that message from Mike. The hype goes up again!

What if there's no meteora 20 release like HT?

There’s gonna be something. They wouldn’t have teased “exciting things” for 2023 AND a picture of Delta if they weren’t hinting something big coming for Meteora 20. We’ll probably get info sometime next week. They said January and were barely halfway into the month so they’ll tell us when they’re ready.

If you notice too, LP has been pretty quiet for months, not posting a whole lot. Similar to how it was the months before HT20’s first announcement, this is probably because they’re prepping…

What makes you believe that Plaster II might be Hit the Floor or From the Inside?

I mostly think it’s Hit The Floor. It just seems like the title fits with the powerful aggression of the track like i’d imagine a “One Step Closer 2.0”

Ok this is really exaggerating lol. It isn't odd at all. It's been less than 2 weeks, less than 12 days even, from the start of the year. They said January. We have over half the month to go LOL

i’m probably getting ahead of myself because i’m remembering how we got a ton of teasers in early August 2020 for HT20. It’s not gonna be exactly the same setup as HT20 for sure. Maybe we’re just getting less teasers or they’re waiting till mid-late January to reveal the stuff. I’m hoping stuff gets revealed soon just because it’s possible unheard LP stuff we’re talking about! It’s always too good!!

There's 15 song on the board (16 if you count the blank space). All of them have the drums completely done for them (except for Nocturnal). What are the other songs of the 18 he recorded drums on?

Well A.06 isn’t up on the board and I doubt it’s any of the other working titles, that wouldn’t really make sense since it has its own working title (A.06) so it’d be the 17th one we know. The blank space is the 16th track, and probably the rob’s drum track, I doubt it’s A.06 because it has no guitar recorded for it. It’s probably the Rob song because it’s the only one we know that they could’ve dropped right after drums. I’m not sure exactly the third but I thought Rob said he recorded drums for 18 songs, and would make sense too, considering the existence of Robs Drum Track and A.06. He had to have done AT LEAST 16 (If Im right about Nobody’s Listening having no live drums)

    he had to have done

    1. Sick

    2. Pretty Birdie

    3. Cumulus

    4. Shifter

    5. Serpent

    6. Plaster II

    7. Faint

    8. Husky

    9. Interrogation

    10. Figure.09

    11. Session

    12. Resolution

    13. “Rob Drum Track”

    14. Cuidado

    15. A.06

    16. Drawing

    17. (Nocturnal Maybe)

so if that’s 16 or 17 and he really did do 18, then there’s one or two more he did that didn’t make it any further

  5. I’m pretty sure A.06’s recording at NRG was only the short version. Hearing a version of it with vocals would be cool though. Rob said he recorded drums for 18 songs right? the three that never made it to vocals at NRG were probably the “Rob Drum Track” “A.06” and a third

About announcements, I’m expecting they’ll do the first announcements between somewhere between tomorrow and the 20th. Like they said, they’ll tell us more in January. We’ll see what they have to unveil first. I’m sure It’s gonna be very exciting. They might even reveal stuff on this Friday the 13th. Just because that’s a month after they sent out the email. I’m guessing probably the 13th to 20th we can expect a first announcement.

From looking at the Meteora board that I made days ago from looking at the actual board shown in the Making of Meteora, it might be "Interrogation". It has drums, bass, and both dirty and clean guitar completely done for the track. Whatever the 7th section (something having to do with Joe Hahn) is partially done for the track.

That's what I got, anyway, though, I'm pretty sure I'm probably wrong with that being the title. Who knows.

I think it’s either Serpent or Husky. But it could be any of the titles we don’t know what song it belongs to. Except Plaster II, which I think is either Hit The Floor or From The Inside.

One thing I've noticed: This part has scratching. This could either mean it is a pre-production demo where scratching was applied OR the song actually was finished in the studio. Scratching was done just before vocals (so the instrumental should be done) and we know that TTTAMP has received vocals in the studio. My guess at this point is that the song got scrapped really late in the recording process.

It’s likely joe’s scratching recorded at NRG. It has that sound to it.

The song has the dirty guitar “sound” of the songs on meteora. It has the same drums “sound” of the rest of the meteora songs too. The bass sounds very heavy but not distorted, much like BTH. Phoenix did a very different type of chord progression on the verse for TTTAMP so that’s pretty cool. Brad did two guitar tracks. One is the rhythm with power chords D, F, C, and G. Four guitar chords that aren’t normally used on Meteora which is also very interesting. The other guitar track is harder to hear but it’s a fast strumming octave sound, similar to Crawling but only the high A octave and no other notes, similar to the guitar G octave in Leave Out All The Rest. The song is in A Minor or C Major.

Aren't "Thoughts That Take Away My Pride" and "The Wizard Song" related? Instrumentally-wise, they sound similar to each other, in my opinion.

Thoughts That Take Away My Pride (Vocals)

    The Wizard Song

I thought the same thing a little while back. I thought maybe that instrumental used for the “Wizard Song” could’ve been a demo for it. It’s definitely possible.

TTTAMP likely has a tempo of 105 or 106. Numb was 110. So while it sounds somewhat similar to Numb too, I don’t think Numb was related or derived from to the track. TTTAMP sounds far too original to be a demo of any song on the album. (Another example, In The End and Numb both have a similar chord progression as TTTAMP.)

    Watch the video

     Mike’s Shirt LPUTV

the verse part of the official TTTAMP instrumental is heard in the background, and we can hear it is very different from Numb.

I doubt they would put out Thoughts That Take Away My Pride as the first single. I'm pretty sure they would save that for the release of the boxset to keep fans hyped up, similar to what they did with Pictureboard through Hybrid Theory 20.

That’s a possibility. But I feel like they would want to include the album’s unreleased outtakes first right? “Take Away My Pride” is basically confirmed to be one of the three unreleased songs from the sessions. If the song truly had vocals done for it, I can see it being one of the first ones to come. But who knows maybe they’ll do a different song first. Either way, I think “Take Away My Pride” is something I’m really praying finally gets uncovered this year. Whether or not they wanna save it for last or have it be the first to come, I think either way are good moves by LP. I still think kicking it off with that songs release first would be way cooler, because there’s still a lot from Meteora we’ve yet to hear, and that one is a big staple people already know. I think saving stuff we’ve never even heard of for last would be cooler IMO.

  10. I think it’s safe to say that interview with Mike that was in that Spin Magazine from March 2003 (that mentions the titles “Shifter” and “Nocturnal”) was probably done at some point in late 2002. I’ve mentioned I think now that Nocturnal was a demo for “Nobody’s Listening” with the song board having it be the only one without any drums recorded for it. (I’m not wrong that Nobody’s Listening has only drum machine right and no live drums right?) Shifter might still be, but who knows. It could also have been a demo for a song that’s on the album. So much stuff we don’t know still that I hope can be uncovered for this anniversary

  11.

I’d love to hear the full version of it. My version was based off the three clips we’ve heard. I think the official version is probably a little bit shorter. I think the only parts of the song we’ve heard is the intro part (summer sanitarium lptv), the first verse (mike’s shirt lputv), and a part of one of the the choruses (making of meteora dvd). Now that Meteora 20 is coming up, i’m really hoping after all this time it finally makes its way out of the dark

  12. Has anyone noticed how all the clips we have heard of the “Thoughts That Take Away My Pride” song sound so freaking incredible. Even after all this time it’s a huge shock to me why it still remains not heard for one but also completely unknown about even. It was there recorded in the Meteora sessions with all the other songs we’ve heard on the album. After THIS long knowing nothing about such an incredible sounding song, I really want to hear what it sounded like in its final form whatever that may have been. Even though it’s a grail, it’s so not known about which is crazy to me.

I have a feeling that the band is going to announce something mid January, maybe next week or the one after. Hope I´m right, the anxiety is killing me

probably next week we'll get some word of something. LP usually does this staying quiet and giving off total suspense until finally revealing the thing. They even did it with HT20 back in August of 2020 too. Just remembering that, also got my hopes up for the possibility of something potentially really big we may have got incoming. We got the remaining gems from the HT era. Now I think it's come time to finally hear those "lost" gems from Meteora.

I come here on the forum 5 or 6 times a day to see if the band releases about meteora 20th lol.

I think we all do haha, because LP could drop something (info or even an unreleased song) by surprise any day now. I'm looking forward to finally seeing that announcement for whatever is coming for Meteora, because let's face it, we all know SOMETHING is happening. LP has always been real close to us fans.

I like how the site now says

I also like how people don't use sources. Who confirmed it?

EDIT (3/25/23): now that "Lost" is out here is everywhere it has appeared:

LPTV 1 Episode 4: The Studio II - 7:32-7:39: Lost (Recording Process of a Verse) (No Vocals Yet)

LPTV 1 Episode 5: The Vocals - 1:37-1:42: Lost (Recording Process of the Bridge)

LPTV 2 Episode 3: Summer Sanitarium (Extended Version) - 2:10-2:41: Lost (2002 Mix) (Instrumental)

    Mike's Shirt LPUTV - 0:00-0:58: Lost (2002 Mix) (Instrumental)

  16. Here’s the main “top grails” list for Meteora I think would be the coolest to see a special release of (no particular order)

    1. Remaining songs w/ vocals from Meteora sessions (including “Thoughts That Take Away My Pride” song)

    2. Rob’s Drum Track demo

    3. Original Demos of the remaining album tracks (Sick, Cuidado, etc)

    4. full LPU tour 2003 or PR 2003 show w/ Pro-shots of Hit The Floor, Easier To Run, and Nobody’s Listening

    5. More unreleased demos from 2002

    6. More footage behind the scenes of Meteora/touring diaries

if we stop to analyze QWERTY it is not part of the Album and neither has anything to do with the style of MTM.
The 2005 and 2006 TOUR does not belong to either Meteora or MTM.
but, if we are going to credit this show as it was from an album, I also bet on the METEORA era.

now for an official release thinking about meteora 20th, I think the band will bet on shows from 2003 and 2004 with mainly shows where they have: Easier to run, hit the floor and nobody listening! at least one Concert show that has these songs.

I’m looking forward to hopefully getting a pro-shot of Hit The Floor finally. That’s what we’ve been needing for so long.

  18. Again I'm saying IF this is a box set similar to how HT20 was back in 2020, which I know we all want this, I think we'll get a first announcement from probably somewhere between the two weeks of January 11th and the 25th, and maybe we'll even get to hear an unreleased song this month to start off the celebration. Box set or not, I know these "exciting things" will be good. Linkin Park has never disappointed. I wouldn't be disappointed if it was even just a reissue with a few unreleased songs, studio stories, and maybe touring stories. Anytime LP releases never-before heard and seen stuff It is very exciting indeed.

  19. Just saw on LP's instagram a new years sale for merch and I was thinking imagine if that was really all they were teasing a month ago. In all seriousness it can't be though, because 1 they never only tease merch and 2, I noticed it was all Hybrid Theory and Reanimation themed merch, meaning they're probably waiting for these upcoming "exciting things" to put out the Meteora themed stuff.

I also want to pay my respects to Ken Block, who was a rally driver and friend of Mike's who sadly passed a few days ago. Rest in peace.
