  1. The album is doing simply GREAT, #1 in the. top 2000, #1 Rock, #1 Alternative, Heavy peaked #50 in the Hot 100, the band is #1 in the special chart that measures popularity. Worldwide the album debuted in the Top 10 in 20 countries and is still in the first 4 places on ITunes

More like 40%-50%, quite a few people on here need to make peace with the fact that objectively, this is a below average record. The fact that they enjoy it is subjective and absolutely fine, but that doesn't change the before mentioned fact.

It really subjective, in fact I literally dislike some albums that are praised by critics and fucking love OML at the point that i play it like 2/3 times a day in full. Subjectivity is everything in music, luckily not many people decide what to listen to by reading reviews.

If you take the steady decline in CD sales into consideration, I still think that this record did relatively better. It probably wasn't the success they hoped for though. I think they hoped to revive their career with a more accessible and modern sound, just like Coldplay, Paramore, and to some extend Nickelback. It won't pay off because the old fans/metal community hates it, and they're just too old and the Linkin Park name is too stigmatized to ever be "cool" in the top 40 range again.

I hope the guys won't take this blow too hard, because while I don't really think OML is up there with their best work, I don't doubt for one second that every lyric and melody comes from a very real place. That's why Chester reacted so strong to the sellout comments.

Yes maybe they were hoping for a massive success you re right, but the contest is really hard now for a 17 years old band. Anyway, i m reall glad that nobody can call this record a flop, i mean 6 days n. 1 in the ww itunes and a top debut in the Hot 100 is not a flop by any means.

  4. 1 OML 2 HR 3 NCSM 4 Sharp 5 Invisible 6 TTMS, Battle (ex aequo) 8 SFN (I know it s low, i like the song but think it will not have much replay value) 9 GG = Heavy. Anyway, i don t dislike any of the songs, i d give Heavy a strong 73/100, just to point out)

  5. OML is the best song in LP career. The rest of the album is really good with some heights (Halfway right, Sharp Edges, Invisible) and some good songs ( SFN, NCSM,Heavy,...) All in all a strong 8/10 to me

Heavy #54 this week and still #2 in the Rock chart
  6. The more i listen to this record, the more i realize that i like it because i can relate to lyrics that express REAL feelings of the REAL life of everyday. The point, for me at least, is that I feel this record at an inner level because of the themes and that s why NOW in this moment of my life i d take this album over the typical New Divide or Keys to the Kyngdom or GATS instrumentally good and super fun and energetic LP standard song. It s calm, reflective, intimate but not super melodramatic.
