Sorry for the OT, but i guess we ll get no LPU this year... What do You guys think ?

My dream show would be a 25 song set by Linkin Park with Chester, with only Linkin Park songs, no Fort Minor shit at all in the show, not even verses. Nothing but straight up Linkin Park music.
Anything with Chester would be a dream now... ;(
-
Yeah I definitely agree. My favorite Castle was when it had the ATS interludes when I saw it in 2015. Sucks we never got to see it with extra Mike verses on it in 2017... It's Goin' Down would have been great. I bet that's not the last we see of that song though. He will probably play it at Fort Minor shows (if FM continues) or keep rapping it in the LP set somehow.
Quite unfortunate most of us missed the return of It's Goin' Down (just a part in Castle) and High Voltage (done what, 3 times at Fort Minor shows?) - I hope they are back again sometime.
It s Going Down was awesome in Monza back in June when I saw ìthem I was really lucky to hear that shit. It was my first LP show tho ;( very sad

Think people are mistaking having Jon Green as some sort of replacement to Chester.
Having Jon on board will allow Mike to be the lead of the band like how Mike was for the tribute show.
Mike's stage persona is huge but often times it was restricted because he had to play the piano or guitars. Now, if we had someone like Jon taking up those responsibilities, Mike is more than capable of handling the frontman role of the band. And Mike is more than capable of filling Chester's shoes as the frontman.
Yes, the heavier songs would probably not happen frequently unless the band hires a heavier singer every time they go out on tour, which is plausible.
But the main point to take away is just how well Jon acted as a member of the band in this concert. He was there for a lot of the songs and with time, he can be included in all of them. Of all the people who appeared in the concert, Jon's role was the most befitting simply because of how much it freed Mike up.
Super quote on this, no one is so mad to talk about Jon as a replacement for Chester, he simply can't, but as a "Mike 2.0" to let Mike be the full time frontman of the band

This is a great idea, to be honest. I absolutely loved Jon's vocals on Battle Symphony and everything he did during the whole show. MVP, for real.
True, and it s a concrete possibility seen that his band is not that big, he could join LP live and maybe write stuff with them at times
-
Jon would probably fit on every OML song ( but I think they ll never play Halfway Right, makes no sense), Iridescent, BITS, maybe The Messenger, IMR, an acoustic BID maybe, COG and RU, LOATR, In Between and TLTGYA. I don think we ll ever see BTH live again

Jon Greene is awesome i D love to see him
Live with the band. About the aggressive songs well I love them but unless they Get a new singer we have to forget them. Mike simply can't sing Given Up or New Divide; anyway, I m super in for them carrying on as a 5 pièce band with touring members
-
John Greene as a guest on shows and mybe someone that can do aggressive parts (Oli Sykes I m looking at you) in the future could be great, even tho I see them taking a long break from shows.

THIS SONG IS AWESOME PURE GOLD
-
Buying it on itunes right now, i m 100 percent supportive on everything concerning Chester

LP won't get nominated anyway no matter what the category is. They are not trendy in any way and OML's critical reception was,to put it lightly,"weak". These are the 2 reasons that any artist gets nominated in the first place.
I think OML song could get nominated because of Chester s death but winning is really hard, as you said OML was terribly received by critics and wasn t a bummer in terms of commercial success, it just performed fine. Considering that the last nomination they received was for WID back in 2008 when they were still big AF now the chances of nominations are few and chances of win are like none
-
Good news but I never cared much about Grammys, I mean Kanye West won 21 of them while Muse won like 2... they are a joke
-
I think the band can carry on as a 5 piece, but mainly asa studio band, i d be super fine with that, but the live shows... well, Mike can handle a lot of songs but Geki pointed out correctly that they can't play some of their big songs like BID, OSC, Numb, WID, Battle Symphony, NCSM... Mike is AWESOME as a singer and a rapper but don t pretend he can sing a lot of Chester s parts because he just can't. We will see, i ll support any decision they make bcause i love them. We need them and they need us
-
Great episode, i laughed a lot but Chester talking about his kids was heartwrenching
-
Yeah good point. Disappointing to see but they aren't ready yet. Give it time and they will be ready to go. 2018 most likely.
Whatever time they need to get everything rolling again is fine obviously.
I think it's possible they might want to have a new album, start a new chapter, start a new world tour, etc all at once in 2018 sometime. The One More Light cycle is just depressing now, I bet they'll want to make music and start fresh. It also gives them a chance, if Mike is lead vocalist for the entire album which I assume he would be, to make 10-12 new/extra songs that he can have in the live show setlist so they aren't stretching things out too far for the set.
Yeah, I think the coolest thing would be starting off with a new record in a couple of years, touring old songs without Chester would be too sad for everyone, would be like a funeral every evening. They need to go on with Chester in their hearts, it s not about forgetting him, it s about carrying on in the right way, for them and for us I ll support every decision they make
-
This shows one more time that LP is an awesome band and awesome human beings
-
I'm sorry about the japanense fans, but I'm a little glad to see that they want to continue and return to the big stage... When the time is right.
Yeah they ll definitely return, I m glad they pointed that out one more time. It ll take the time they need, we'll be right here waiting
-
Painful but completely understandable, going on stage as a 5 piece 3 months after your 18 year bandmate and frontman s death (considering the way he died in addition) is not easy at all i guess.
-
MTM is really dark, I still struggle when I listen to Given Up... I just imagine Chester in his last moments of life..."tell me what the fuck is wrong with me?"
-
I really think it s absurd complaining about the guests, I mean no offense to who was complaining but it s a tribute show, I just want to see a lot of people pay homage to my all time music hero, period.
-
This show is gonna be awesome, seeing LP on stage without him will be, as Mike said on KROQ, a cathartic experience. They want to do it and fans want it too
-
BMTH, Avenged Sevenfold and Blink confirmed on Instagram they ll be there !!!!
-
When you see this video you realize that all these amazing moments belong to the past and it so fucking sad... It s not Just about music, it s about the 15 year old me singing along to WID on MTV, buying Meteora and being blown away by its awesomeness, me Waiting for news on Lpassociation, Lplive or band s social media about the upcoming album,... It ll never be the same

Hard to watch but amazing ❤️

true, I 100% agree on this, they don t HAVE TO do nothing, they don t owe nothing to us, absolutely
