I heard the song on the radio this morning, even tho it was a rock radio, it’s always amazing hearing “new” LP from Meteora era on the radio in 2023. Already 22 million on Spotify and nearly 19 on YT. It literally blew up. Still #10 on iTunes after 12 days

Yeah compared to the other 2 songs, Lost is the proper “first single”, it’s like a Numb little sister and as you said it’s Chester centered so even occasional fans will be like “oh LP is back with their trademark sound like WID, Numb, ND…”. The other 2 are more a joy for us hardcore fans I guess, I mean, Fighting Myself has Figure 09/Papercut/HTF vibes

Yeah I totally get it, I’m on the opposite side because I like OML more than MTM and THP, but none of us is wrong or right, this is taste. There’s quality yeah, I’d never say that Sorry for Now is better than Pink Floyd lol, even tho I listened to Sorry for Now more than I did with 90% of Pink Floyd songs

That’s really a problem, I mean you grow up and need to realize that your music taste is not law 😂 I mean I love 30STM and can’t stand Greend Day but I don’t act like Mars last album should have won a Grammy and iginoring that Green Day is one of the most influencial rock acts of the last 20 years

Totally, Chester was one of the best vocalists of his generation but Mike is an awesome songwriter and musician overall, the magic of LP was the chemistry between them and the fact they completed themselves each other. Mike was lucky to work with Chester and Chester was lucky to work with Mike. Totally.

Totally get what you say, in fact I said I generally really like the honest tone of this interview, and I get what you say, some fans OUTSIDE OF THIS FORUM act like Chester was perfect and it’s pure cringe

Yeah I really liked the depth of this interview, as I already said, it’s not the typical “Chester was the best singer on earth tell me your best memories with him” stuff, it’s brutally honest and goes right there where nobody would go. I also liked his fan attitude, his reactions to the new songs and when he blasted Numb while Mike was speaking 😂😂 my only problem is that I think he insisted a bit too much i the depiction of Chester’s bad habits, I mean it’s not that he was ALWAYS high or drunk, he insisted a bit too much on that IMO. But overall really interesting interview

The interview was great, totally not the typical “WOW new Linkin park out April 7, new single Lost out now. Chester was the best singer of all time” stuff, this one was very deep especially in the Mike-Chester relationship. But in all honesty I’m not a big fan on how Howard insists on Chester being drunk/on drugs and a mess like all the time. It’s a bit too insistent

The quality of Meteora demos is SO FUCKING HIGH. I mean, with all the due respect, we are not talking about Pictureboard, a really early demo that’s not even close to the quality of the HT songs. Like, I want to listen to an HQ of MTV And FM before judging but so far all the 3 songs here could have been on Meteora

Yeah it’s like extension of LPTV stuff, he literally said “you’ve seen 30 seconds of something on a LPTV episode, now you’re seeing 5 minutes of that thing”

Mike basically said that everything we can think and dream of about Meteora demos will be in the box set so I guess we’ll get A06 with vocals.

He looks as excited as he was back in the day with LP stuff. I’m really happy to see him like that again and hyping up LP songs and stuff. Obviously Chester is missing and it’s still kind of weird not seeing him go like “Fighting myself is fucking awesome, it’s like, like, you know, it’s us 100%, I fucking love that song Mike!”

The tone this time feels different, I personally am super excited they are treating this like a new album basically, press, first single that’s totally new, Mike hyping up the “new” songs, it’s a lot less “dark” and sad. I remember them watching the unreleased show from HT20 and reacting to it and Mike said that Chester sounded great and after that he stared into the void for a few seconds and looked sad as fuck. This time around is all more celebratory as he said and more fun and pumps the fans up.
