  1. Honestly… I’m not against this, and to be honest the rest of the guys (even if it’s just Mike, Phoenix & Brad + the new vocalist) deserve to be playing onstage while they still can. If this is the way for them to do it then I’m okay. As much as I love Mike & think highly of his talents, he can’t really hit the high notes required of most LP choruses sung by Chester. With that being said Mike probably can’t front LP by himself, I’m sure he’s tried behind the scenes, otherwise they wouldn’t have been on hiatus for 7 years. Enough time (and grief processing - because Chester was my hero) has passed to let me say that in  my opinion LP shouldn’t die with Chester, that’s not fair to the rest of the band. As much as we all loved Chester, he made the decision to take his own life and leave us behind because he was truly suffering. But his body of work should be celebrated and probably always will be. I’m confident we’ll continue to get box sets & material with Chester as time goes on. (Here’s hoping Summer Sonic 06 gets released lol) Also, any singer they get will be compared to him anyway regardless of who it is, (Mike would be as well if he were to front the band) but i think a female vocal would bring less comparison, especially if the new singer is a good one, it might take some time for people to warm up to them regardless but I’m behind them 100%.

  2. Wow! It’s been a DECADE?! It feels like just yesterday to me, I remember when it dropped and I was absolutely blown away.

Just listened to the song, it’s still a freaking banger, entire THP album is underrated to be honest. Especially Rob’s drumming, it’s absolutely insane on the album. It sucks that THP is kind of under the radar, people were asking for “heavy” for years and they got it!

THP is arguably the heaviest album LP did, and that’s probably why it wasn’t promoted well by the label. I remember Chester saying on Twitter in 2017 that GATS was “too rock for radio”. Also the video they did was a very puzzling decision, a proper music video instead would’ve been much better.

Hmm. Zero THP while putting 2 OML songs on, when there is room left in the tracklisting is a pretty odd move, especially if you are including QWERTY.

Mike's comments before were that he wasn't interested in Greatest Hits, so it will be interesting to hear what the band says in the press about this release.

They should have at least included one THP song. Could definitely understand zero THP and zero OML, but 2 OML and zero THP is odd.

What is the strangest omission for this? Catalyst was #1 globally in many charts, Shadow is huge, Given Up is pretty high on streams, Iridescent is big.

No Catalyst being there is definitely the strangest for me, but they should’ve included a THP song for sure. Even though the album wasn’t commercially successful it still deserves representation, I’m really surprised they didn’t put Final Masquerade or Wastelands on here

  4. I’m interested… especially because they’re reposting the live pictures, they wouldn’t do that for no reason! I’m gonna try & not get my hopes up until they actually start teasing something…

I think the remaining holy grail items people know about are:

"Webster Hall" making of MTM footage

    No Roads Left with Chester

    Friendly Fire, I guess

    Live shows:

    Tokyo 2006

    Full Roxy 2004

    MFR 2005?

There are some really good ones like KROQ 2007 Acoustic Xmas, MSG 2008, Berlin 2008, etc. They have enough shows to go forever on releases.

HT20 and M20 really took the list down. We got She Couldn't, Pictureboard, Projekt Revolution 2002, Fillmore 2001, a ton of Meteora era shows including a PR 2004 proshot everyone wanted, Nottingham 2003 in full with the missing songs, Lost (thoughts that take away my pride), Wizard Song (Resolution), a bunch of tracks we didn't even know existed (More the Victim, Fighting Myself, Massive, Healing Foot, etc). We got a ton of stuff. Let's see what happens in the next few years.

I'd love any missing DSPs as Joze said. There are 2007 shows missing - I know they must have Las Vegas 2007 (we still don't even know what was over Points of Authority at that show... wild), probably some Europe shows before Projekt Rev. They didn't just decide to record every single show with Projekt Rev - they probably recorded some leading up to it. Maybe not all. But would love the missing 2007 shows, there is an entire 2008 tour missing in Europe which has amazing setlists. 2009 has missing shows. 2012.

They can easily just toss random shows out over time, like X Games 2012, KROQ 2012 - there is nothing released from 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 for full shows. Would love to see them release a 3-4 shows per year somehow online from the vault; I'd buy them all. A shame we are missing so many good shows - Europe 2007, Europe 2008, Australia 2013, Asia 2013 specifically. The early 2015 shows were really good too.

Agreed with everything you said. I’d definitely buy them too. There’s still so much they have yet to be released. Probably from the old days too, I’d love to have one of the shows from the POA video for example, maybe another PR02 show that doesn’t have the Live In Texas style editing. I’m sure they may have a PR03 show, they left Reading off the box set, a Meteora Arena tour one too, MTM definitely has some shows such as Rock Am Ring 07, Europe Summer 08. ATS era, MSG11 full, would be cool to have Brazil 2010 in full video as well. Crazy how there’s nothing from 2013 onwards officially released. I’d love for one of the 2013 shows to be released, the band sounded great. For THP we definitely need Download 2014 in full, it also would be good to have a fixed version of Berlin 2014 or Beijing 2015 without all the text overlayed. A 2017 show would be incredible, especially one of the UK ones.

  6. If this is MS & friends I’m 100% on board with this! Would open up a lot for him sound wise, especially because Bonnie crushed Bleed it Out. Not many people can do Chester’s vocals justice but she did. Also, let’s take a moment to appreciate how much Mike Shinoda has improved his vocals & how good he sounds now. Because I did NOT know he could sing like that.

    My God, this is wonderful!!
The old LP shows are the best!

Will we be able to download the original files later?
    I hope so.

Not sure about a download… I’ve talked with him before & he said he doesn’t want to share original files at this time. At least it’s on YouTube…

a live SBD professionally mixed a FULL would be better.  I remember that he has the 2015 Exchange FM show and the Russia show from 2018 but he simply refuses to release the whole thing....

Oh yes. This 100% would be amazing, I agree. But I am glad they edited live footage into the Hold It Together video, I quite like it.

Releasing a MV for a song that was already released 5 years ago is weird, lol

I think I remember that the original video (someone could correct me if I’m wrong) was on an HDD that got stolen at the airport, and that’s why we never got it. They probably made a new one, and seeing as we have every video but that one, it would make sense to release it for the anniversary. A new video (even if it’s for a 5 year old song) in my opinion is better than just merch…

Whatever it is called or not called, Mike absolutely needs to play some shows. Still don't understand why he doesn't capitalize on all of these one-off singles he releases like fine, Happy Endings, In My Head, etc and play LA or NY. Literally just an LA venue if he wants to do something fun. He said he couldn't wait to get back on stage to play some of those tracks and yet here we are with 2023 halfway done and zero shows announced still. Surprised he didn't do a TV performance for one of them too.

But is it really that difficult to play one small headline solo show? He doesn't even need Dan and Matt.

Agreed, it’s been since 2019 since he played a show… that’s what 5 years? It’s time. We need a Shinoda performance again!
