The timing seems ok. They dropped the first single later in relation to album release than they did during OML & THP album cycles. I was definitely expecting them to add more new songs live during European shows and potentially drop a single. Remember THP had whopping 5 singles out before the album release.

Linkin Park Sells Out Comeback Shows in Los Angeles and Brooklyn
millytripleseven replied to LPLStaff's topic in Newswire
2 hour sets is great news. This opens a window for some deep cuts like By Myself, Forgotten, Figure .09, No More Sorrow, or possibly debuts of songs like I'll Be Gone, KTTK, AFN. Maybe Mike will do some Fort Minor/Post Traumatic stuff too. / I would also add, that in the Billboard interview there was a line from Emily about learning 50 songs : -
Brad Delson Issues Statement on Not Performing Live
millytripleseven replied to RogueSoul's topic in Newswire
First of all I still support them continuing with LP 2.0, and I'm gonna listen to the new music. With that being said, I gotta be honest. Lack of Chester is extremely hard but of course nothing we can do about it. They gotta move on. No Rob was a major disappointment, but somehow predictable. But lack of Brad on tour on top of everything, it just hit me extra hard, because now we have 3/6 members and it's not even gonna be close to being the same. This might be a deal breaker for me when considering seeing them live. A lot of new information in the last couple days, I think I need a week or few to compute all of this. -
Well said.

From Zero World Tour & 'The Emptiness Machine' Single
millytripleseven replied to RogueSoul's topic in Newswire
I know they probably spent a lot of time dialing in the old songs during rehearsals, but I'm wondering if they're gonna make more adjustments based on how it turned out during the live show, or what we heard is indeed the final/intended version of One Step Closer, SIB Numb, ITE or Faint. These ones sounded the furthest from the original version. -
I'm very much satisfied with the direction of new music. I was a little bit afraid they would veer into areas more akin to modern pop music that you can find plenty of on Mike's Spotify playlists, but they didn't. It's a rock song, and it's high energy. That is all I ever wanted. I'm not gonna pretend like TEM is some kind of sophisticated masterpiece, because it isn't, but it DOESN'T NEED to be. For a comeback song it's just perfect. Also now that they have a multi-instrumentalist producer like Colin, and Emily who's also a guitar player, I can see a lot of new creative paths open for them to explore. We're about to witness evolution of the Liknin Park sound and I'm so curious about the future LP music.

2024.09.05 - Los Angeles, CA (Special Event)

I'm reading the show notes, which say: " Brad Delson decided not to make touring appearances, Alex Fetter replaced him on guitar". But I think we're NOT ENTIRELY SURE of that ? From the way Mike did the introductions, it sounded more like he's just temporarily filling in (he wasn't introduced as a "new touring member" or something to that effect, it was just "filling in for Brad Delson"). Also Alex played on Brad's guitar rig, which makes me think Brad was supposed to be there, but something came up on short notice so he needed replacement. A permanent touring guitarist would probably prefer playing his own rig. -

Emily is fucking AWESOME. Right vocal skills, right energy for LP. I think besides TEM, I liked Crawling, Lost & WFTE the most. Some of the songs felt extremely weird after the key change. I'm hoping this is not the final version of those songs and they're gonna nail them down, otherwise (at least personally for me) it might take a lot time getting used to. And hopefully BBB will be back soon. -
2024.09.05 - Los Angeles, CA (Special Event)

No, I just remember someone on here calculating the rough length of the actual event from the timeframes they've given (they've given information how long you should expect to be separated from your vehicle etc.) and I think it was somewhere around that -

So do you think there's gonna be more to the event, let's say a Q&A session after the performance ? From all the timeframes they provided, someone calculated that the event should be (at least ?) around 1.5 hours. I'm not sure they would be setting up this whole logistical ordeal, a ticketed event, secret location, transportation only to make a 15 to 20-minute appearance -

Regarding setlist discussion, I bet they won't open with a new song. I think at some point Mike will do a little speech about past 7 years, maybe about the creative process and what led to writing this new music, then he'll introduce the new song and the'yll play it. I'll say under 1 hour set, 11 songs: 1. Papercut 2. One Step Closer 3. Lost 4. Iridescent 5. The New Song 6. Mike solo 7. In The End 8. Faint 9. Waiting For The End 10. What I've Done 11. Bleed It Out -

All that speculation comes from the Billboard article which talked about "a reunion with Mike, Brad and Dave". However Joe has been very much engaged in promotion of the box sets, worked on Papercuts, he's been even engaging with Mike on social media regarding the upcoming event. So it's safe to assume he's involved, I think. Rob is not on social media at all, and was not invloved in any past promotion, so naturally he's a bigger question mark. We're gonna have to wait 12 more hours to see. -
They definitely said they've been writing some music, which is enough really in that context. How much of those 7 years, I don't know. Safe to say that not all the time
-
It's not really like it took them very long to write albums in the past. Between ATS and LT you had 2 years (technically under 2 years), LT and THP also 2 years and don't forget that also included touring. So really we're talking about 7-8 month period each time to record an album. Plus it's basically confirmed at this point that they had been writing at least some music together in the past 7 years.

Well, If we figured it out, we figured it out. Either Mike tried to outsmart us, but he really underestimated us. Or we're gonna look like fools 😆
-
I really think this is the least suspicious out of all the things regarding Emily. Because that's easily explainable. It's very likely that people within LP circle would like a fellow smaller artist from L.A. area, who's also on the same label (they literally could've bumped into each other in label offices over the years, or gone to Dead Sara shows occasionally), and vice-versa. The wiping out of her instagram pictures seems more suspicious to me, as well as her not even addressing all the questions about LP, which she got many of in the comments (and you can bet in the DMs as well). She just keeps posting vague ig stories, like the middle finger with a microphone, driving around L.A. or at the beach. Don't know what to think about it. I would like to know where the rumor originated from (allegedly it's from some people in the industry/in the area, but who exactly and how they would know about something that is definitely kept secret).

For Papercuts there was a written interview for Revolver Magazine, and then maybe one more (on Sirius XM?). I can't recall any other interviews
-
Also the fact that they barely promoted it. Maybe it was promised to Warner in their contract (either as a "GH", or just as "one more additional release"), and the band wanted to get it out and get it over with. They weren't keen on doing interviews because at that point the LP reunion had already been in the works. They knew that questions about possible LP comeback would come up, which if answered truthfully would obviously compromise their plans, so they mostly opted out of interviews for that reason.
-
Also many people were speculating that Papercuts was rushed (due to all the errors in the release), which would perfectly fit into this theory.

People, please don't kill me. But to me the silhouette from the purple thing looks like:
-
I tried converting it into negative and can't see anything. I don't see what you guys see. Here is what I see quite clearly: - There is a silhouette of a person with their back turned to the camera - The person is holding their right hand close to the mouth, appears to be singing into a microphone - The person has a full head of short hair, possibly curly hair. Mike's hairline 100% doesn't look like that. He shaves sides and back I don't see any other people, whether it's a purple version or negative
-
I'm looking at the screenshot. That doesn't look like Mike's hairline at all (unless he's wearing a wig, Donnington-style)
-
Almost too obvious... and that's what I'm afraid of 😀

It would end even later because the clock is far behind what it actually should be. It would be closer to 8PM California/11PM New York/5AM Europe. These don't seem like the best hours to release anything or make a big announcement
-
It's Sunday. If they were to reverse the clock to 100-hour countdown, the 100 hours until the LPU Event (Sep 5th 12.30PM) falls on today, 8.30 AM Los Angeles time. That's 6 hours from now. Wondering if it's gonna go back to a countdown.
