Just thinking to myself, that there is a lot of potential for bonus content on the DVD. I could imagine the band talking about how the various intro/outro variations came to fruition, among other things. I certainly hope Jay-Z isn't a major focus.

Video rip up. (See first post)

Undecided about buying this one. Might go onto the Christmas list instead.
Lol @ Hahninator, your comment on the official site looks so out of place amongst all the "Yay!" comments of those that don't realise that we're getting screwed over.
Is it just me or does there seem to be a lack of planning and thought in the making of this DVD? From what I can remember when the actual concert took place, the DVD crew was quickly rushed together. The stage set up was quite bland and it will probably show on the DVD. Plus, there were some weird technical issues at this show.
Then we get the announcement of the release, and a quick poll to decide the name of the DVD. Seemed a bit rushed, even though this must have been in preparation for quite a while (eg mixing and editing).

I haven't watched Australian Idol in a few years, but I keep up with it online just to see if any interesting songs are covered.
This Sunday, it's Rock Night (Top 8), and one of the contestants, Thanh Bui, is performing Shadow of the Day. As soon as the video rip is available, I will host it for download.
Not much else to say.
EDIT: Video rip here. (Requires Xvid codec, and thanks to behindidol.com)
Thanh was actually voted off the show on Monday night, but I suspect that was more to do with his previous performances rather than SOTD.

Get rid of:
Don't Stay
PMA Piano
TLTGYA
Valentine's Day
This is only to allow room to bring back older songs and new material. Here's a prediction for the new album tour: The setlists will have a spot where 1 of three songs from each album will be played. For example, a HT slot that rotates through Papercut/Points/Something, a Meteora slot that rotates through Don't Stay/From the Inside/Lying From You?, and a MTM slot that rotates through In Pieces/Hands Held High/LOATR?. Or something along those lines.

Maybe Joe Hahn should wear a lab coat, and a cowboy hat on stage.

Yes there is. Show was Toronto, Ontario - 12.07.2008. Not a bad bet for LPU 8.on the subject of breaking the habit...is there a soundboard recording of the piano-only version

No More Sorrow - if not Berlin than Rock Am Ring 07.

[rant]If I was an admin I would have fixed up this mess already....[/rant]
...Everyone forgets that it's FUTURE setlist topic. So where is new songs??
do YOU happen to know any of the new songs? i dont...enlighten me!
At this topic you can dream about the new touring cycle, which will have NEW SONGS. I've already said, that you should list some (maybe 3 or 4) new songs - like "02. New Song 01 (Slow song)".
Setlist, which you posted isn't bad but it need to be posted at topic 'CUSTOM SETLIST', not here.

No More Sorrow extended intro with the kabuki (ignore spelling) creates a great atmosphere. Close with Faint and it's extended outro.
One Step Closer was always a great closing song but it had it's peak in 03/04 when the Reanimation bridge was played. The extended outro the song has in 08 works when the song opens a set, but ruins the ending of a show in my opinion.

Told the staff about this three times and got ignored, along with my other emails. Why am I being ignored?!? </rant>(i know on LPLive.net it says Hindermarsh but i thought i would use this chance to correct this, it is called Hindmarsh)

I don't hate the song, in fact I quite enjoy it, but I think the concept of the song in the way it is structured can be done only once. If there is another 6 minute song in a similar format on the new album then I will disappointed. I'd suggest LP could try doing a longer song that has differences in speed throughout (similar to Metallica).Hopefully, LP can expand on the M2M writing process and come up with some new arrangements for songs. Perhaps a slight hint of experimentation.
I'm happy for the band to continue with a primarily rock focus. I'd like to see the electronic side return; more Joe Hahn! (Think In Pieces). A little bit more hip-hop flavour, but not necessarily rap, although the rap must remain in a few songs, but must be of a high calibre. Mike should have a larger role in the vocals (either rap or singing).
I'd really only like to see 1 Chester ballad on the album. Mike can do as many ballads as he likes. And I'd be really disappointed if we end up with TLTGYA v2.
Dude, that's an amazing song!!!!! It's one of my all time favs on the album!!!! How can u hate that song?

Probably as tracks on any single that comes out.Didn't this show have a professional recording?
there was allegedly gonna be one as stated on chaz's blog he said
Hey everyone what's up? It's been awhile since I've posted anything so
i wanted to keep you in the loop. On May 10 we at Club Tattoo are
celebrating our 13th anniversary. Julien K will be performing as well
as Rabbit in the Moon. There will also be some of the dopest DJ's
around spinning. It's going to be awesome as always. But, the big
surprise is that I will be performing Dead by Sunrise music live for
the first time in front of an audience. We have been practicing and
promise to kick ass. Maybe I'll record the performance and put it out
there for everyone so you won't have to rely on someone's phone mix. I
look forward to hearing feedback from those who care to watch and
listen, It's important for me to know that I'm giving all of you what
you want. Talk to you soon...........................C

he said maybe he would record the performance but so far nothing.... i would hope it wud be on LPU 8 but that wouldnt make sense since its DBS and not LP =/
maybe if DBS comes out they will offer the tracks as a bonus? who knows...

It's probably a given there will be all the special stuff on there:
We Made It
Crawling (feat Chris Cornell)
Bleed It Out (Bourdon solo and SDC bit)
Pushing Me Away (piano version, because we all apparently love it so much)
Breaking the Habit (for the hell of it)
etc...

Good point. So I decided to check the official LP site to see how they were writing them (I was expecting all capitals), and it turns out they are using capitals for every first letter bar one song, which just so happens to be Points of Authority!
Okay, so it's a site choice. Just would have thought you would have used the same capitalisation as on the album. We capitalize all the words of the song names. It's easier that way. If you look at each page, they are all capitalized.
In reality if you look at the back covers, I know at least Hybrid Theory and Reanimation have theirs all capitalized. I looked on Amazon for Reanimation last night to get the correct spelling of P5hng Me A*wy. I like to capitalize all the first letters in the words...looks much better in my opinion. That's how the SBDs are done too, and Pooch and Dylan fucking work for LP, lol.
-
The way I would like to see it is that this current layout is temporary, 4.0 is put up soon with continually updating, and 5.0 is up for the new album. But then I would also stop referring to each layout's version number. I don't think anyone else sees things the same way.

From the Staff Updates thread.
Isn't the original capitalisation correct?-22.07.2001 Manchester, NH: Points of Authority -> Points Of Authority

Checked the dud video and you can just see the beach ball for about a quarter of a second, but nothing of Mike trying to catch it or his reaction.I wish someone had the songs he missed! During, I think Papercut, Mike tried to catch a beach ball that was flying towards us at the front of the pit. But, the security guard took it from me and popped it and mike looked down at me and made a frowny face. It was the best moment of my life

Some care to do the math? Would usually do it myself, but, yeah.
-
This question could be answered in so many contexts, but...
I think the band would be happy with The Little Things Give You Away as the final track on such an album.

Taper would be good. Could Julien-K be performing any new material?
