Pretty good grade, but I would like to see them go more in depth with this review,. Especially with an album like ATS.

The Catalyst
Waiting for The End
Iridescent
Other song (WTCFM or W&K)
Burning in the Skies.
I bet you $100000000000 that this is it.

I would rather just see them play Waiting For The End over a chopped up version of The Catalyst, seriously...
-
Finally someone who actually sat down, analyzed the album and rated it as a piece of music, unlike The New York Daily News.
-
Rick Rubin looks like he's dead.
-
That clip montage of The Catalyst clip was useless, they should have had more making of individual songs, but I don't think they want to give away their secrets.
-
It looks like Mike's vocals have improved when he was singing to Chester.
-
Listening to WJ&L right before this brings the emotion of the 1st verse up so much! This is probably the best Linkin Park song ever written, lyrically and musically.
-
Wow... Is everyone seriously voting for RB? It is such a great song, and it has such a nice flow!
I vote for WFTE, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too poppy for me, and the second verse sounds very country-ish to me.
-
Pff, WJAL is where its at. That transition into Iridescent, flawless!
-
Very cool! I hope they release a few video previews before the release! I want to see how they did this performance. Like, did Mr. Hahn just sample the synth part in TC that continues during the Lift Me up Part, or did he play each individual note on his Midi pads?
-
Now, that I've seen it, its getting me more excited for the full DVD.
-
Its almost a tie between Blackout, BINTS, and RB....but I choose Iridescent. I love that 1st verse =D
-
No Work :'(
-
Wait..guitar part in W&K? I thought that was synth...they could be altering it though...
-
alot of people realy disappointed :\
song like robot it's like shit backstreer boy's
boyband
realy gay
but the rest it's ok
I thought it sounded more like an electronic Pink Floyd, with the double voices and leaving spots of emptiness between lines.

Ok, mr. "hardcore LP fan".. Vavouras said that it's not a bad thing for a song to be radio-friendly.. And who the fuck said that LP is just a band with beats and a DJ? LP is an awesome band. No one here denies that.. Otherwise they wouldn't be here on an "LP Fan-site". Everyone that doesn't like something is a hater. Why's that? I stated before(and I'm sure Vav agrees) that no one has a problem with LP changing their sound. Even if they started writing classical music I would love it as long as it was good. But, let's face it, this album is not good. And I don't like the fact that I say that. But it's the truth. Now you'll say I'm not open-minded, I don't appreciate the band's work and all that stuff. But guess what? I wanted as much as anyone else this album to kick-ass. It does not though. Live with it. Open you ears and listen. Listen carefully. It is not good. Unfortunately.....
What you think is good music and what someone else thinks is good music can be totally different. I may think Frank Sinatra is shit, but my grandpa might think otherwise. Please do not state your opinion as fact. I myself do not like every song on ATS, I do not like WFTE, I think it is way to poppy and it sounds like a country song, which I hate. Just because your opinion on ATS is different from others does not make it bad music. You may think it is bad, others may think differently.

I just want to sit in my bath tub and listen to Robot Boy right now! Just go under the water and feel the music! I swear I started hallucinating when I first heard it. I was looking at the light on my ceiling and I started seeing colors and shit!
-
I think it just depends on their tastes. They wrote some of HT when they were teenagers and they probably liked harder stuff back then. Now they are getting older, and they prefer more calm sounding music. I don't think it has anything to do with Chester, he can still pull it off and Blackout is a great example of that.
-
Not to support the claims of "THEREZ NU BRAD IN THIS ALBOM LOL", but I believe that is Chester playing guitar during that song.
BOOM...I think....
-
I just finished listening to it. And I thought it was amazing. It blew me away!
-Requiem/ Radiance- Good album openers but I don't see why they had to be 2 different tracks. 8/10
-Burning in The Skies- One of my favorites. I love the guitar in this track, especially the octave solo. Great vocal delivery by Mike in the Verse. Very catchy chorus, I like the combination of regular percussion and electronic. The end feels very powerful, reminds me of New Divide just a tad. 10/10
-When They Come For Me- One of the best beats Mike has ever produced. Once again I love the jungle sounding drums fused with the electronic. Mike's verses are really interesting, they are very anti HT/Meteora. Like saying "I AM NOT (Anti Faint) going to tell you to FORFEIT THE GAME(Anti POA)". It becomes very cinematic later in the song when Chester joins in. 8/10
- Robot Boy- I thought this sounded like "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, when it first started. But then it took a very different turn. It becomes very relaxing and pleasant. It almost makes you feel like you are under water. The dual vocal layering reminds me of Pink Floyd, in a very good way. The lyrics stood out to me and are very inspiring. The synth solo later in the song is absolutely amazing! When Chester's screaming melodies come in, it just give me chills. One of my favorites as well. I also do not know whether that last part at the end is guitar, it sounds like it, but yet not. Probably the softest song on the album. 9.5/10
-Waiting For The End- This is probably my least favorite song on the album. Very poppy. It will probably be a very successful single. I don't really like Mike's verses too much. I like how the drums fade from electronic to regular though. 7/10
-Blackout- Here We go, this song is definitely going to be split among the fans. At first I thought the Dire Dire Docks sounding synth would not fit in, but when I heard the song, my mind totally changed. The first verse is very reminiscent of Julien K a bit, very ravy. It's like I should hate this song, but I love it! The vocal pitch shift made me giggle when Chester's voice was high. The song totally changes direction when Mike comes in, very epic. Very different, reminded me of Burning in The Skies. Mike's voice has evolved and his much thicker then before. 8.5/10
-Wretches and Kings- We all know it, we love it. (9/10)
- Iridescent- My favorite song. I really hope this is a single. Mike's verse in the beginning are amazing, very chilling. I like the reverbed guitar in before the second verse. The whole band singing together at the end is amazing, and Rob's drumming is the best he's ever done! The end is very uplifting, this is probably one of the best songs they have ever written! 100000000000/10
-The Catalyst- Great choice as a first single, I don't think any other song could have been as good as this one to lead the album. (9.5/10)
-The Messenger - OH MY GAWD BRAD IS STILL IN EEELPEEE???? AND HE IS PLAYING REAL GUITAR CHORDZZZZ OHMAHGAWD!!!! but really, nice album closer! very subtle. Its a nice break after all of the chaos and energy, it's kind of like what the song represents. Not as good as I thought it would be though. 8.5/10
I really think this is the best album LP has ever made. 'nuff said.

I will only listen to it if I can listen to it as one.
-
Aww, I can't listen to it at school :'(... I just have to wait till I get home.

I just went on Wikipedia and found out that Rick Rubin is 47...Holy Shit! I thought he was like 70. He looks like he lost a lot of weight though.
