bloodbath Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 It's a dumb question, but after all these years I can't figure it out. The most logical answer would be no, it's an score. But it has finished LP songs, like White Noise, Dancer or Devil's Drop, so it's kinda confusing to me. Also the fact that the album is credited under the name of 4/6 members, excluding Bourdon and Delson, but adding Alec Puro playing drums. So isn't that a similar case to some OML songs which aren't credited to the whole band and has an additional writer like Jon Green? But those songs are considered LP tracks. It's a little bit confusing, so if somebody has the answer, I would be happy to hear it. Quote
yagamilight207 Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 No. It's not credited as Linkin Park. It's not a studio album. It's not even parked under LP in streaming. Quote
JZLP-Benningstrong Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 (edited) In spirit it's even more linkin park than FZ cause Chester was included. Even the band tagged White Noise and other tracks as Linkin Park. Legally it isn't a Linkin Park album because they didn't want to have WB on the way to block or complicate the release. To me it is Linkin Park, pretty sure that there are many more songs in which less LP members performed or have credits. Edited November 22, 2025 by JZLP-Benningstrong Quote
Qwerty18 Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 I mean even in spirit, I woudnt go as far as saying it's more LP than FZ ^^' FZ is literally the current definition of LP, in spirit and in everything. The Mall was always ambiguous. For me it is what it was marketed as: a non-LP score feat. a bunch of finalized LP Demos. Quote

Was it really for the label thing? And where do we know that from? Quote

Totally has a MTM vibe with the donna vocals (didn’t they change it to more just straight gibberish after MTM and not use the phrase donna anymore? Cuz Chester mentions the chick donna on the MTM DVD). sounds more like a Living Things demo sounds similar to Hemispheres Quote
Astat Posted Saturday at 01:54 AM Posted Saturday at 01:54 AM I think of it as LP featuring on the soundtrack the way Styles of Beyond featured on the Fort Minor album. They're there on a bunch of it and composed a bunch of stuff for it, but the whole thing isn't exactly theirs. It Goes Through, The Last Line, Devil's Drop, Dancer, and Mal RX7 are repurposed Linkin Park demos. White Noise is basically a Linkin Park song with Alec Puro playing drums instead of Rob. I wouldn't take issue with calling any of them LP songs. The rest of the stuff on there is film score stuff that was mostly composed by Joe and Alec specifically for the movie. I wouldn't call any of that LP material any more than I would stuff like Mike's soundtrack for The Raid: Redemption or Alec and Joe's soundtrack for Blade of the 47 Ronin. Quote

I agree but I think it goes through, devil drop and the last line are more true Linkin park songs from the vault of songs. The original ‘’ammosick’’ version sounds almost identical besides some new lyrics and ending with that fading out siren noise. I think Joe has said white noise was a demo from the band but he always heard that when thinking of the main character(the shooter) and they worked it up for the movie. I think those others are maybe ones chosen a lot earlier from the vault. MTM and ATS songs but I think warm spell is living things. also Jeff walks this sounds very much like MTM piano based, anyone agree? Quote
LPLStaff Posted Saturday at 04:01 PM Posted Saturday at 04:01 PM White Noise is even in a trailer for The Hunting Party, right? Quote

The song was also released for free in mp3/wav and a slightly different (in mastering) version was later released on Mall CD/digital release Quote
