They never add a second One. That's not always true. You can renegotiate the contract. Last year a festival announced a headliner as a exclusive date. A few days layer another festival announced them two as headliner. I can't remember who they were or the festivals but I think one of them was Rock Imperium or another in the area. Quote

But I'm talking about LP. And trust me the first time I saw them in Madrid was in 2003 so I have a some "experience". They've never added a second date. *But! I MUST say that I didn't expect they sell out in minutes (because of price, and day of the week).* Quote
Cesar656 Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Madrid selling out is a surprise, as the country is not really rock oriented but hey, good, maybe they will come more often Quote

bloodbath Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I completely forgot that the tickets went on sale today. And them I found this. Fucking fantastic. Quote

bloodbath Posted June 6 Posted June 6 (edited) I was at that venue in 2023 watching Motley Crue and it's too small for a band such as LP. I don't expect them to be as popular as they are in Central Europe, but the promoters have been too cautious. I'm pretty sure they would have sold out the Wizing Arena, which for those outside Spain, it's similar to the O2 Arena in London in terms of capacity. Edited June 6 by bloodbath Quote
LPLStaff Posted June 6 Author Posted June 6 That arena is much smaller than where they are playing in 2026 (34,000), but the promoters seemed to have either been too cautious OR booking around Rock in Rio, there were already holds at the bigger stadium that prevented LP from using it. These holds are commonly placed well over a year in advance by bands - imagine when the negotiations began for Rock in Rio 2026... likely at the end of 2024 or very early this year. It's longer and longer out from the show than ever. If the venue isn't booked on the 24th, they could come back and add a second show there that day. There are two days off before Italy. Sometimes these contracts/deals *do* get renegotiated if the promoter comes back to the band's agent(s) and says "we will offer X amount for a second show due to the insane demand" - that certainly seems to have happened in Germany in 2025. The Frankfurt N2 show was added way way way after the tour was announced. Quote

martinez Posted June 17 Posted June 17 3 new 2026 shows were added: 03 Jun Hamburg 24 Jun Madrid 28 Jun Werchter https://x.com/linkinpark/status/1934883720026116538 Main post updated! Quote
AntonioLinkin Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I was recording a video for YouTube, and in real time, when I pressed F5 and refreshed the page, Civitas Metrpolitano disappeared and now read Auditorio Miguel Rios. The location doesn't change. Quote
Cesar656 Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Extremely unlikely they do civitas, if it was only one show then it would work. Lesson learnt for 2027 Quote
LPLStaff Posted June 17 Author Posted June 17 Nice to see another Madrid show - they definitely needed one there. They know they can play an even larger venue next time in Madrid. It must have been logistics (bookings/holds) or they weren't sure on demand. But now they know with plenty of time to prepare for next time. Werchter Parklife is funny - it's a 1 day festival at the same site. LP must have sold so many Werchter tickets this year that the promoter said "we've gotta do this again immediately" lol Quote
