It’s good to see you again.

Weatherman Rogue is not available today, so he sent your favorite Mexican LPLive member! First of all, it’s a fantastic honor to write this preshow show for you guys and I’m so glad that Mark and Dylan gave me the chance to write it in my own style.

Linkin Park will close out their Mexican Leg of the From Zero World Tour with their third show ever in Monterrey tonight at Estadio Banorte — which is the home of Borregos of Tec de Monterrey. The venue is really small for a stadium with just 17,000 in attendance, which is really nice for me because I prefer smaller shows.

My very first show of Linkin Park took place on September 2012 at Arena Monterrey. It will always be my favorite show ever, imagine being a fan since 2001 trying to get a Visa just to see your favorite band (AND GETTING DENIED!) and then finally after 11 years I got my chance to see my boys. It was really hard to enter to that show because it was organized by MTV and the tickets were free, but there was a big catch… they announced certain places in which you had to go IN PERSON to obtain a chance to enter a raffle to get a ticket. Man I lived 5 hours away and I traveled to Monterrey only to sign up for the contest. There was a massive line (from 4 to 5 hours of wait time). 1 month later I received an email with the invitation to the event, man I couldn’t believe it! I was extremely happy!

Garbage opened that night and did a good performance but all of us were waiting for LP. Once in a while I close my eyes and remember how the show started. Everything was dark, then the long intro of ‘A Place For My Head’ started… that’s how you start a show. The crowd went wild my first show ever started in a perfect way — what else could I ask? The show opener was my favorite LP song ever. The Living Things era in my opinion was the last live prime of original line up, Chester was in beast mode, Mike’s prime never ends, and the rest of the guys were killing it for sure!

Other highlights of that night include one of my favorite mashups ‘Victimized (w/ QWERTY).’ They need to bring it back, I’m sure that Emily can nail it for sure. And what an honor to have my first show ever being filmed by MTV and then being released as a bonus DVD on The Hunting Party Best Buy edition. Special mention to ‘In My Remains’ performance a song that was released as a bonus on MTVLA.com. Does anyone miss the ‘Sabotage’ cover over ‘Bleed It Out?’ Chester sounded so good when he covered Beastie Boys, I love his performance of ‘Fight For Your Right’ along with Mike with the Camp Freddy guys. Monterrey 2012 ended with the perfect encore: ‘Faint,’ ‘Lying From You,’ ‘Papercut’ and ‘One Step Closer.’ You cant go wrong with Hybrid Theory and Meteora songs.

The band promised to come back soon and they did it! 3 years later they played at the same venue to promote The Hunting Party. This time I had the opportunity to meet the band! If I’m honest, it was my favorite part of that day, the guys were really cool! I tried to speak with Mike but I was shaking like a kid, I wanted to request a verse but all I could say to him was that I am a member of LPLive, he was like “yeah, cool!” Chester had the perfect energy, very kind, he hyped everybody and I got to tell him ‘’I LOVE YOU, YOU ARE MY HERO’’  and he gave me a hug. I got two signatures from every band member and those are a treasure that I will always keep. After Chester passed away as a tribute I asked my tattoo artist to do an exact replica of the signature that Chester did on my ’Breaking The Habit’ LPST DVD.

Now let’s talk about the show. The show started with a great opener: ‘Papercut’ with the 2015 Intro. Fantastic song to get everybody in the mood (by the way LP, why don’t you guys start every set with ‘The Emptiness Machine?’ The comeback show proved that it’s the perfect opener for this new era). Some highlights of Monterrey 2015 include the epic performance of ‘A Line In The Sand’ (#JusticeForTHP), ‘From The Inside’ (one of the songs that has survived every album era), ‘Darker Than Blood’ a cappella version (am I the only one who loves this version?), and the second performance of ‘Welcome’ with Linkin Park. Another fun fact: this was the very last time that the band performed the ‘Crawling’ album version with Chester; during the One More Light Tour, he only did the haunting piano version.

If you search for Brad Delson guitar solo on YouTube the very first result will be my video with over 124k views I loved that solo even more than the actual song!

The show ended with an energetic performance of ‘Bleed It Out!’ I filmed like 20 minutes of the show I used a Samsung camera the zoom was decent for 2015 feel free to check my video.

I’m sorry if I didn’t write a single word of what happened at Guadalajara or Mexico City but I haven’t watch a single video of any of those shows because I want to have a fresh experience.

Weatherman Rogue dropping in here just to quickly breakdown what happened in Guadalajara! The band debuted Set B4, featuring mostly the same structure and ‘Iridescent’ vocals in the interludes. Two rotation spots in the set have been revealed, and both rotations in Zapopan surprised us! ‘Keys To The Kingdom’ made its return for the first time since London in September 2024, replacing ‘Casualty’ (will you be your own casualty, or will you not be a casualty? you can only have one.). ‘Lying From You’ was moved all the way down to the encore, rotating with Set A’s ‘A Place For My Head,’ making it the first time the song has featured in the encore since Taipei 2013! Only Set C4 now remains - will we see it here in Monterrey or will they keep us in suspense until Asia next week? With plenty of songs from 2024 yet to make an appearance in 2025, including the likes of ‘Points Of Authority,’ ‘Given Up,’ and ‘Lost In The Echo.’ What’re your guesses for Set C? Bringing it back to JZE now!

I’m so fucking excited for tonight’s show I cant wait to finally listen to ‘Overflow,’ ‘Good Things Go,’ and ‘Lost!’ I just want to take a moment to say THANK YOU LPLIVE members and staff for keeping this site alive. I’m one of the very first OG 2008 members and I’m really proud to be a member of this legendary site. Thank you Linkin Park for coming back and starting From Zero, what a genius you are Mike Shinoda, you found a king and a queen for your band, you definitely have the keys to the kingdom!

Congrats on the pre-show post. It's nice to hear (read) experience of fans with the band we all love. Hope it's a good one.

As for the possible setlist, I think they will Casualty back instead of KTTK, and either LITE or POA in the rotation spot in the encore.

Happy show to all of you who are gonna be there

Your post is incredibly good to read! You seem very excited and I'm not surprised at all. Have fun Bro!

I'm slowly losing hope for From The Inside. If they don't play it today, I will lose hope completely. :(

There are exactly 5 months left until my show. I'm counting down the days. :D

From the Inside is coming eventually. If it isn't today or this leg, then April, and if not April then June. They are definitely going to get to it - it's been in EVERY LP touring cycle since it was introduced in 2003 and they already said they want to play it. What a great, great song!

@LPLStaff So it's good to know, I'm waiting for this song because it's one of my favorites.

BTW. Today they will probably play Set C. Points Of Authority instead of APFMH/LFY is very likely.

Will It be the first time ever that Points of Authority will be played in the encore, if that'll happen?

Given Up in the Casualty/KTTK spot, and while POA doesn't get its first encore spot, FROM THE INSIDE is back! First time with Emily, Colin, and Alex, AND the first time it's ever been in the encore!

What a cool post! Congratulations, JZLP!
I hope you enjoyed the show last night.

From what I saw on the internet, it was the best one we've had this year, and it's great to have From the Inside back in the setlist. It almost feels like this song was made for Emily. From the Inside needs to be a permanent song in the setlist!

Wow the Mexico shows were very good. From the Inside performance, Emily nailed it. Very nice ending scream.

That song suits her perfectly and is such a great LP song. It has been played every single album cycle since its released, like APFMH. It's definitely a fan-favorite/band favorite... it was technically a single but not globally blah blah blah (all the technical stuff) but so glad to get it back in rotation. Hope they keep playing it all year.

They really could do a Set D, just repeat one of the other intros and use POA/Lost in the Echo. And even an E with BTH/LOATR. There are so many possibilities lol

They are doing a fantastic job keeping the shows interesting for fans to follow.

I also feel that she's getting less and less nervous, and can control her voice and sustains more and better. She's dropped that weight by now and they go full steam ahead for greatness.
