what song exactly is the one they sampled? I've read in the other thread it was a Mos Def song and Astat even provided a link for a video I was never able to watch.

Mike's blog post on she couldn't is now down I think, I was on the page a minute ago and now I don't see it.

They sampled Mos Def on the chorus of B-Boy Document '99 by High & Mighty (it's mentioned on the exclusive page). Mos Def just guests on the song though.

I don't remember, I can't find the article that mentioned it. I just know that it's the "break it down/turn it up" voice about 3/4ths of the way through the song.

 

*Edit* And Mike's blog entry with the response to She Couldn't has disappeared for me in IE, still showing up in Firefox for now but it'll probably be completely gone soon. Not surprised, I'm sure he got chewed out by some high-level Warner exec for disclosing information about a song that they haven't had the opportunity to milk for a few bucks yet.

legal reasons? i think not being able to talk about it is a really stupid "legal reason". at least mike had the decency to tell us thats why he cant talk about it. WBR sucks.
