JZLP-Benningstrong
Underrated drummer, much respect for him, he always put the band FIRST, instead of trying to shine he always did what the song needed. The perfect drummer for LP just like Brad they have a certain way to play things that no one can replicate. I read somewhere that the band that does the best changes between electronic beats to traditional drumming was LP, because of Rob that transition was always smooth. LeonardoMF93
Undeniably, Chester and Mike were very talented. All the other old members have always been criticized by the regular audience for their lack of quality. Honestly, the criticism is unfair, especially toward Rob. I’m not a musician, but I think Rob is an excellent drummer. It’s a shame that he seems to have permanently stepped away from his career. I just wish I could know if he’s okay and what he’s doing with his life. The last time we had any information about him was in 2020, and it’s very likely that will be the last time ever. LPLStaff
Rob's use of the sampler pads during shows is pretty impressive, especially when you see Colin in 2024 with the band - a different sound/style. Rob was a machine behind the kit. Hoping he shows back up one day. LP Touring Inc is the company that handles the touring. Someone told me about the company registration a long time ago (like around 2019 or so since it was interesting to look at) and I decided to check again and there was a report from June 2024 that has Rob Bourdon as the CEO of the company and all the other band members as the board of directors (except Emily and Colin). If I remember correctly years ago Chester was also listed as well. Since the band was active during June 2024 (in secret) this makes me wonder if Rob is possibly still involved with the business side of the band but this is just speculation. My LP dream reunion would be ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTION 2025 Rob and Brad last performance with the band. 2 hours ago, c3bebuilder said: LP Touring Inc is the company that handles the touring. Would be awesome if he's still active running stuff in the background! My4oKFanLP
I believe that one day he will return to the group. Happy Birthday Rob and thank you for everything! I will never forget his solo at a concert in 2009! Best! Wow! It would really be amazing if it were their farewell. It's entirely possible that Brad would perform, but I don't think the band itself would agree to have Rob join the performance, so as not to undermine Colin. 1 hour ago, c3bebuilder said: LP Touring Inc is the company that handles the touring. Rob is probably living in the middle of nowhere, enjoying what he rightfully earned and still earns with the band. Honestly, you can't say he'd be wrong for that. LP guys are down to earth people, pretty sure that they would love to have Rob back one last show. Even Metallica invited some ex members to perform with them (im not a Metallca fan but i know that Mustaine and Jason Newsted were not in good terms with the other members) Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/18355-happy-birthday-rob-bourdon/#findComment-340054 Share on other sites
YRQRM0
Im surprised I haven’t seen anyone make “The Emptiness Machine if Rob wrote on drums”. To my ear it’s the only one that really feels different Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/18355-happy-birthday-rob-bourdon/#findComment-340057 Share on other sites

From a bussiness point of view: Rob helped build LP to what they are now. As much as all the other members... So it is very possible he still has his % of the band's profit as part of the agreement to they keep going on. If he were taken down from the contracts and profits, possibily there would be a big sue case involving LP. Even if MIKE and BRAD are the bosses, which they are, at some point of the LP members career they shared pieces of the whole company. in %. With that, if you want to still use the LP name/brand, you cant just remove a member of the greement unless he decide to sell his % of the bussiness to someone else or another band member. So maybe... the band wanted to return and Rob just denied, while Mike or whatever offered him a % of something involving the band just to let them keep playing, etc. That's probably what happened. This doesn't meam he is still involved producing or touring Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/18355-happy-birthday-rob-bourdon/#findComment-340063 Share on other sites

Newsted on the other hand, reconciled with the band back in 2009, 8 years after his departure Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/18355-happy-birthday-rob-bourdon/#findComment-340064 Share on other sites
