I don't really know how to start this thread, yesterday A LOT of new stuff was discovered so here we are to get into the stuff and update soon as new stuff is found!

Pointillism is So Far Away

This was the best reveal IMO, the mystery demo "Pointillism" actually is a known demo "So Far Away"

as Jeff Blue stated he wanted Mike to write down the meaning of the song lyrics in order to explain it to record labels and all

The lyrics are the same as "So Far Away" despite one single line (that was also misprinted wrong in streaming platforms)

(In so deep and inside of me)

was actually

(And so near to the inside of me)

also there's a second line that is slightly different as @NJPLP pointed out

I’m the mess I have created

but in the lyric sheet is

I’m the mess that I’ve created

it's unknown why this happened

also it's unknown what the song sounds like, if it has "Hurry" instrumental as a placeholder, or if it has the same instrumental as the released version of "So Far Away"

Flower lyrics portion

another lyric sheet that got our attention was "Flower" lyrics, which became later "She Couldn't"

it contains a different intro idea and different structure (judging by the lyric sheet)

"She wanted you to know that it was not your fault
You're the only reason that she stayed this long at all
I've seen her smiling
The sunlight shining on her now

She couldn't stay here
She knows you won't let her down

You know she couldn't stay here with you
You know she had to go
Even though she couldn't stay here with you
You know you're not alone

I've seen her shining
The sunlight's crying for her now
She wouldn't stay here

She knows won't let her down

No matter what you think you did wrong
(Won't be long 'til everybody knows)
She knew she had to go all along"

Stick N Move unreleased bridge

Stick N' Move version with Chester's vocals was released in the Hybrid Theory (20th Anniversary Edition)

but the bridge part was missing, but lyrics for that part were written in a certain point

(Liar) Now all the trust is gone

(Backstabber) Everything I know is wrong

For this part I'll break down 2 songs from Hybrid Theory which had different lyrics/structure

Points of Authority (No rap)

a lyric sheet with a version of "Points of Authority" with no rap verses appears on the video

it also seems that the chorus would hit only after the second verse (which is weird)

Crawling Misprinted lyrics (from HT booklet)

as Linkinpedia states: There were a few mistakes on the lyrics printed on the Hybrid Theory booklet.

For "Crawling", the lyrics read "Consuming all I feel" instead of "These wounds, they will not heal".

We can see the line"Consuming all I feel" on the video as well.

In addition to that, another part was slightly different

(it was not misprinted wrong, just a different take)

(Without a sense of confidence I'm convinced that there's Just too much pressure to take)

and in the video it shows that this part was written different

(Without a sense of confidence I'm convinced that it's too much pressure to take)

That's all I could point by now on this thread, hopefully more content come up on the future! :)

"Complete Demos" disc:

photo_5123208892896095512_y.jpg

- Different version of Untitled, which they described as raw, epic and their favorite thing they heard all day. Completely different mix and take than anything we've heard and different white noise rhythm at the intro too, like an extra click. Chorus sounded heavy, super grungy. Even earlier vocal take than the Untitled that we all know and both Mike and Chester sound very young.

- Ashes is the Xero Reborn LPUTV song. It start's with studio banter: young Brad says like “put it at the fastest possible tempo I can rap at” and everyone laughs in the background. The song is pretty much exactly how Jeff described it in his book. It isn’t very good.

- Blue and Could Have Been sounded the same or at least very similar to what we have.

- Turn To Grey was terrible. The song is really weird, very choppy rhythmically, and had some vocals that supposedly don't belong to Chester, Mike or Mark Wakefield (Mike and Chester were both on it in other places though). It legitimately sounds like both Mark Wakefield and Chester are on it, but Jeff said "no, just absolutely no way that’s possible." Described as "fucking crazy with abrupt song style changes into crazy shit" and "a shit show track." It has "a really shitty Mark chorus then goes into a super soft Chester part and the vocalists sound so incredibly different from each other I just have an impossible time believing that’s not Mark."

- Fiends sounded the same as the Rapology version.

- Slip with Mark was very similar arrangement-wise but the lyrics were totally different. The "this is the sun behind the rain" pre-chorus was the only part they kept. The song was a little faster than the version with Chester too.

- Chester's verse vocals on Pictureboard sounded like a different take.

- Everything else sounded the same.

5-Track "Xero" disc:

Spoiler

photo_5123208892896095505_y.jpg

- All songs with Chester.

- Carousel and Part of Me were both different versions.

- Some different Chester vocals on the Part Of Me pre-chorus. The samples of Chester's vocals in the verses are totally different vocal takes with more vocals, the “yeaaah. Yeaaaah yeaaaah.”

- Different intro with Chester vocals on Carousel. Has a Chester vocal break before the first verse after the intro, like a mini acapella chorus.

Hybrid Theory EP:

Spoiler

photo_5123208892896095504_y.jpg

- Kids is a Dedicated demo. It was the exact same takes of everything but it was unmixed / unmastered, so everything has different volumes on it. It was censored here too.
- Cure For The Itch transitions into High Voltage seamlessly. Cure For The Itch was the Studio Finals version with the different intro voice clips.

- Not totally sure that High Voltage was a demo as it sounded similar to the album version. It flows right out of Cure For The Itch, so that explains why it's like that on the released version. Same with And One/And Two.

- And Two is the rap part at the end of And One.
- Everything else was probably final, but didn't listen to A Place For My Head or By Myself to confirm.

- She Couldn't has another title called She Had To Go. It's also listed as New Slow and New Ballad.

- Knight Rider = So Far Away. Jeff called it "Knight Rider Theme" out loud, but didn't see it written that way anywhere.

- She Couldn't (She Had to Go) and So Far Away (Knight Rider) sounded really similar to what we have, maybe the same.

- A couple of the CDs seem to have instrumental versions of And One in their tracklists. Didn't ask about it.

- Didn't get to the CD that says "can't use" on Part Of Me, so didn't ask about it.

- There are versions of Untitled with live drums and without live drums.

- There are CDs with Stick N Move, but didn’t hear it.

- There weren't any different versions of And One that they heard. Jeff has like 20 CDs with And One and they couldn’t quickly find the live version in studio version. Might be in none of them.

- Jeff said Kyle is generally the one on the demos with Chester.

- There’s quite a few Studio Finals CDs, one of them has a totally different tracklist. Might have been the Plear (tentative band name) one. It goes: Paper Cut, Now I See, Plaster is like song 4 or 5, APFMH -> Forgotten closes the album.

So according to this...

Chester was actually a member of Xero for a brief and uknown time!

I was under the impression that he joined when the band was nameless or already were Hybrid Theory.

They were still legally called Xero when they signed to Warner.

With this information, now I need to know what the lyrics are to “Ashes” and “Turn to Grey”, despite “Turn to Grey” being a huge mess of a song, lol. This makes me want to hear these demos even more.

Also, did you get to hear the 1998 Xero demos versions of “Carousel”, “Step Up”, and “Stick N Move”?

that's more beautiful than your pfp LOL

i was talking about Ashes yesterday, and i even tried to mash the guitar from the LPUTV with the Ashes_Be sample

i'm surprised about Turn to Grey review, sounds like a noob youtube mashup? LOL

i wonder if they tried to change the song afterward

about Pictureboard, how different it was? it was similar to the released version? (which i believe is the audition version judging that terrible mix)

or it was more similar to Mark's whispering version?

so And One shortned version wasn't there? or they didn't listen to all the versions?

also, the Xero Cassette tapes didn't have any tracklist?

did the guys saw any of that? i mean, we all know they there were some cassette tapes with Dreamer and Weight.

Not sure. I think it's similar to the released version.

Didn't listen. Too many CDs.

They didn't see them, only CDs.

Thank you for this. This is my favourite LP chapter. I'm quite curious how it went, you could play any cd on a CD player somewhere in his office? Can expect proper video with interview or some snippets? (We already have snippets of Dreamer and Weight..., fingers crossed) 😊

i think we will know that soon enough, there are some weird samples there.... DOU_BRAD&JO, Pencil Beat

about Ashes, it's pretty obvious that it has the Ashes_Be sample.

This is a concept, where i've mashed Ashes_Be with Xero Reborn guitar.

they listened to some CDs, but Jeff doesn't have any Cassette tape player (it's like having 1mil in a bitcoin wallet, and you don't have the password, LOL)

and where did you hear snippets of "Dreamer" and "Weight"?

Nothing is confirmed. As far as I know Dave Garrett never found his tapes. All his Xero demos were unnamed in his computer. He only figured out the title of Deftest after Mike talked about it on Twitch.

Yes. It's just an internal CD from Warner. The date isn't indicative of when the songs were recorded, it's just when the CD was created. There could be a million reasons for its existence.

As I already said, And Two is just the rap at the end of the Hybrid Theory EP version. And One was always played live without it.

oh i got it now, i asked a special someone about the CD, let's see if i can get any reply.

Probably worth mentioning when that CD was made by Warner the band was playing a show on that day in Toronto.

with that being said... does that mean that they were giving this stuff to the audience? or to the venue to play?

does that make any sense? i'm just thinking that, lol
