LPA has not let anyone down with yet another great track-by-track of a new album, this time by Joe in London! Joe was one of the lucky LPU members attending the band's listening party event in London on October 29.

Joe goes into detail about all of the unheard tracks from the album from start-to-finish; about "Overflow" he says:

"A long preemptive synth sound with a calming melodically electronic intro opens Overflow, with phasing echoing voices in the distance before glitchy imperfections set up another very unique and different vocal delivery from Mike. I noted awesome Deftones-like droning vocals from Mike before Emily comes in with some of her highest notes we’ve heard in a song yet.

It’s a very unique Linkin Park song and my personal favourite on the album after two listens. Dare I say A Thousand Suns-esque? That’s my favourite LP album but even with that comparison it’s hard to really equate the two, as Overflow is very much its own thing and one of the more creatively interesting tracks. I can’t really put it on any other album but From Zero.

It has very good vocals and a crunching instrumental that is slow but hard. There’s a face melter guitar riff for the bridge which stands out and takes the song into even more creative territory. “I keep on filling it up, TO OVERFLOW” Emily sings loudly as the song crescendos with guitar and possible scratching."

Read the full rundown here. Great job LPA!

Overflow and Good Things Go are the standouts from the review so far due to them sounding unique.

Glad Joe is back with scratching too. The LP return was sparked by him, and his energy on stage is the best it has been since the Meteora era, so no surprise he's bringing it on the album.

Indeed!! 'With you' and 'Cure for the itch' are long-time favs of mine because of Mr. Haaaaaaaaaaahn.

Thanks! I wrote it myself. 😆

I've been digging into his sample usage and techniques on each of the albums with my own console lately, so this lined right up for me.

And who would have expected that Joe, of all people, would be such an important part of the comeback? Glad he is in a more prominent role again here. He is so revitalized live.

I think Joe even mentioned in the Zane Lowe interview something like, "as we became successful, we lost some of that freedom and creative spirit." I took it to mean that he didn't contribute as much to the music on the later albums, but it seems like he's back on it again now, which is great IMO.

Joe enthusiasm during the September live shows has been at at 180° compared to his presence in the later years prior to 2017.

It's so good to see him in a such a happy mood, and the fact that he's back at it in studio too, it's just awesome.

Man, I can't wait for this record to drop.

I think he meant how much the label meddled post HT's success rather than individual contributions

To anyone who heard the album , did you feel it could’ve used 1 or 2 more songs to be a bit less short?

You need to ask it on LP Association Forum on LP Association's review thread. There are 3 guys that heard it and they will try to answer you is the lenght of the album good.

But I believe it was surreal for them to listen to it and the time passed by so fast.

THE GUARDIAN review is OUT.

Two faced = OSC 2.0? 🤔

No, it would be more like "One Step Closer 3.0" (or, perhaps, as a nod to the working titles of both "One Step Closer" ("Plaster") and "Figure.09", "Plaster 3"/"Plaster III"), since "Figure.09" is basically "One Step Closer 2.0" (one of its working titles is "Plaster 2"/"Plaster II").
