I'd like to count all of the known copies of "Sean Dowdell And His Friends?" tape, so I need a little bit of assistance from collectors right here.

Copy 1 & 2: Back in July, 2014 Bpercy of lpcatalog.com posted a high quality rip of his tape saying:

Just some quick history about how these rips came to be. I started collecting in February of 2003 in my final year of high school. I found this tape on an online auction in 2012, so it took me about 9 years to find. There is only one other tape known to exist and remain intact besides mine, and for that reason the “holy grail” to collectors.

Based on age alone (21 years old), the chances of finding another one are slim to none. Certainly, there are items in my collection that are more “one of a kind” in the literal sense. What I mean by that is I have the only one, and I’ve never seen another one, like the Humble Brothers Remixes CDR for example. Nevertheless, this tape is up there in terms of being super rare/scarce/uncommon/limited, whatever word you like to use.

Last October a guy named “Spazzy Nazzy “ in the LP community asked me to rip the tape for him, and he paid me a fair amount to do so. He was more then generous I will say in terms of dollars. All credit goes to him for getting these 3 tracks in the best quality possible!! It was ripped at a professional studio and the 3 tracks are around 40 MB each!

Lastly, my good friend Will, who actually owns the other tape I mentioned is selling it here.

Enjoy!

Bprecy has sold his copy to StaticXero just recently.
Will's (aka ---Woco21---) copy has been up for sale some time ago as well. Not sure of it's current status.

Copy 3 & 4: ---Woco21--- talking about other owners:

I know Percy also has a copy, the other 2 seem to be MIA unfortunately. One was put on eBay like a month or 2 back and it went for around $10. Thing is the seller never sent out the item :P. Figures as his Title of the item sucked balls and he didn't include "Pre Linkin Park" on it xD

Copy 5: Back in 2008, someone posted this: http://www.heartofmetal.net/t5973-the-cassette-demo-collecting-thread
From what I can see on the picture, it doesn't look like Bpercy's copy to me. I'd list it as a separate copy for now, but chances are it's either the previous owner of Will's copy or Will himself or the owner of the Copy #3/4.

Copy 6: David Knauer has a copy.

Copy 7: Jason Cekoric has a copy.

Thanks, added info about StaticXero to the first post. Structure wise I'll leave it as that for now.

I remember some person telling a story of him bringing his SDAHF tape to a meet-n-greet for Chester to sign it and Chester being shocked to see it. Any idea who that might be? Will's copy is signed, I believe. Was it him?

Also, who is this?

Wow. The only thing that I would pay over 3,000 dollars for is all 150+ MTM demos. It would be cool to own the cassette. I'm sure someone will own it soon and have a good piece of history.

10 more copies confirmed to exist by various friends of Sean. In fact, according to the band's manager, 200 cassettes were manufactured, but nearly a hundred of them were destroyed because of the Arizona heat, so there are dozens of cassettes out there somewhere.

Does it help to lower that goddamn price?

I can say the tape has at least a $1k value at most. I don't see the numbers being more than 20~ in circulation if that's the case. I (woco21) had my tape up for $1.5k signed a few years back, but no bites. When Chester passed, I was getting $2k offers because its the only signed copy that I know of.

The one on top is me lol. It was at the 6th LPU Summit, that I met the band and went berzerk with getting items signed. I got the following signed:

Baby Xero Tape Signed by the rest of the band members (Mike, Joe, Rob, Brad, Phoenix), sold it to a collector in the UK.

Tasty Snax Tape (Was Sealed, opened for the occasion) Phoenix was pretty excited to see the tape, he called Mark Fiore to sign it also lol. This tape now belongs to BPERCY.

Sean Dowdell & His Friends Tape: Chester was so chill when he saw me, then I pulled the cassette out and he was like "WOAH! where'd you find this dude?!" xD.

Due to the circumstances, I decided to keep the SD&HF Tape as a memento to that day. I met one of my biggest inspirations in music and hope to keep it with me for a LONG time.

It was a nice moment overall for me, as I traveled about 6 hours to see the guys.
