    - Around this time of the tour, Mike went into a studio in Nouzov, Czech Republic to record music. Some of this music was eventually released on the LPU XIV CD in November 2014.

    i may have posted this before somewhere, but i thought since we're playing "reading my eyes" a bit on stage, i'd give you a little background. i think we wrote the song back in '97 or '98. it was an original demo from when the band was called XERO, which means it was written (and originally performed) by me and my friend mark. this was one of the songs on the demo we would send out to record companies to try and get signed, and it was on some of the demos we passed out to friends and new fans (the blue cassette with the baby on the cover).

     

    we decided to put it in the show because a lot of the hardcore fans wanted to hear us play it–the only time we played it with chester before this tour was in tokyo, 2006. looking back at the lyrics, it's crazy; some of it's really dated, some of it's still dope, and some of it makes virtually no sense whatsoever. but i've seen some really bad "interpretations" of the lyrics on so-called "lyric websites" that are WAY OFF…so i figured i'd give you the real lyrics.

    - Before 'Reading My Eyes', Mike said, "We're not in the habit of introducing our songs. Do you want to introduce the next song?". Chester replied, "This song is so old, that when it was written, I wasn't even in the band!".

    - On the first verse of 'Reading My Eyes', Chester went to the side of the stage and kissed his wife. On the second verse, he went back again and kissed her and danced with her as well.

    - Chester sang the chorus to 'Reading My Eyes' in a lower pitch like he did earlier in the tour in Vilnius, Lithuania.

    - The band thanked the crowd a lot, with Chester saying "We couldn't ask for a better audience at our first concert here. We have the best fucking fans!"

    - Fans that met Linkin Park through a competition, backstage, gave the band a Greek flag and Mike put it on his keyboard during the show.

    - The band dedicated 'Bleed It Out' to the touring crew.

     Other Notes:

    - This was Linkin Park's first show in Greece.

    - Instead of using the setlist they used for the previous two shows, the band decided to go with a variation of "Set S". 'Given Up' and 'Valentine's Day' were not played, and 'Shadow Of The Day' actually was dropped from the setlist for the first time since it was initially added on July 25, 2007.

    - 'Points Of Authority' reappeared in the setlist. Mike rapped verse one of 'It's Goin' Down' over the intro and verse one of 'There They Go' over the outro.

    - Chester dedicated 'My December' to a friend of the band's named 'Arnando'. He died for an unknown reason, so Chester paid his respects with the song.

    - 'Breaking The Habit' had no intro or outro at this show.

    - Mr. Hahn was back with the Leroy Jenkins sample at this show, using it this time after the 'A Place For My Head' intro.

I had seen Judas Priest, Testament, Motorhead and Heaven and Hell the night before and was really tired by the time Linkin Park came on. We left before the set was over" - Taper.     - After 'In The End', Chester gave basically the same speech about Mike that he gave at Mountain View 2007 about how talented he is, etc.

    - During 'Faint', Chester went to the side of the stage a few times to kiss his wife Talinda.

    - On the bridge of 'Bleed It Out', Phoenix messed around with Street Drum Corps and played a drum on the bridge jam.

    - The band debuted a brand new stage setup for the tour that featured among other things, rotating screens that spiraled and moved in all directions. Rob's drumset and Joe's DJ rig were able to rise and lower for songs like 'My December' and such. The "open" stage design was designed more for indoor arena shows so that the band could play several 360 shows. They also did away with the kabouki, so what they did at this show was Rob and Joe walked out to do 'Wake' while the rest of the band played backstage, and then the remaining 4 came out on the 'Given Up' intro. It's also interesting to note that this is quite similar to how Linkin Park did 'Don't Stay' as the first song at the 2004 shows.

    - However, the performance was advertised on New York City-area radio stations and was invitation-only for 200 radio contest winners along with industry friends and professionals.     - After the Staples Center show in March 2008, Mike posted on his blog, "next, the iTunes SoHo performance. in case you haven’t heard, we played a secret show at the SoHo apple store in NY. it was awesome…the tracks are now available for purchase on iTunes. go check them out!"
