  1. It's a little too much of Madonna's "Die Another Day"-credits-song-style for me, but I agree that seeing it in HD would be better. I didn't catch the wire effects, which I thought would have been cool during the breakdown in super slow mo or something. Having said that, it's a cool video, and kudos to Mr. Hahn for helming another unique LP masterpiece.
  2. Good catch. Haven't quite had my coffee. I mixed up an old computer resolution (640) with DVD (720)
  3. Ehh... it depends. Batman TDK on 70MM Imax looks amazing. Other films in Cinemascope, or good Kodak look great. As do films shot in HD like the Red camera (The Knowing was a recent example). I've seen good and bad of both, but for a documentary like a new Frat Party, shooting with the Red One would be awesome. Other things like music videos I think LP tends to have that "theatrical" feel sometimes that gives you a little bit of disconnect from reality while showing some cool special fx ... so... I could root either way
  4. Here's your HD live disc: http://www.amazon.com/Linkin-Park-Revoluti...7663&sr=8-1 *Nerd alert* In re: to the lp videos not shot in HD, thats kind of true. Film inherently has a higher "resolution" than HD as we know it today (1920x1080). The issue is unless you get an HD master from the film source, the best we have is DVD quality (640x480). You can upscale DVD to near HD quality, but it's still the same 640x480 pixels and wont look the same as an HD master would. So you have: Film source >= commonly used HD video recording > HD Master for Blu-ray, HDTV brodcasts > DVD > VHS / internet streaming (unless using a quality codec like H.264). Also, there's the discussion of director's intent, how did Joe/the director want the video to look? You can add all kinds of effects to soften/sharpen/add grain/etc to the film stock. You can take these away to give you that "HD Nightly News" quality, but then it's not true to the source. So assuming LP wanted a "clean" video with no effects and shot on film or 2k/4k digital, and then they made a quality HD transfer to HD media like blu-ray, then we can get that HD look everyone wants. Let's see what they do with the New Divide video.
  5. http://www.mikeshinoda.com/video/all/mike_...llege_of_design Pretty interesting to listen to, talking about the label, the A&R guy at Warner, etc. Nothing we didnt really already know but a good listen anyway.
  6. I was at that show. I did not care for either of the supporting acts, personally.
  7. If you watch the Making-Of on the Minutes to Midnight DVD, Mike states that they wanted to move away from using tripled vocals that they had used in albums prior.
  8. New Divide is up on iTunes. $1.29. Use the link on the front page I provided.
  9. So, you didnt like that but the tripled vocals and other effects from Hybrid Theory were ok?
  10. Mike and Chester are already off the air so if you want to hear the earlier interview/song premiere you'll have to wait for someone to post a recording. They will be on again later tonight. Listen on their website live. http://www.kroq.com/
  11. Mike mentioned that this song marks a new direction in a way for the sound of the band. Maybe this is in the direction of the new album?
  12. Exactly what I thought. I still think it's BA and Chester is amazing as always on vocals. Drums are sick.
  13. Note that the link is not active at this time.
  14. Itunes order link, from the LP.com site. Note that it is not active at this time. http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...um?id=316487529
  15. I'm CST, and I'm watching the countdown. ~53 minutes left to go.
  16. the clip with vocals has to be legit, I'm a/b-ing the clip with the trailer from myspace and they are pretty dang close, with the studio clip sounding more "raw".
  17. Hey the GB3K is over and I unfollowed everyone doing that so it was slow until I saw you had an account LOL.
  18. And Subway resturaunts with free delivery? Apparently you can drive a car from Cali to Egypt these days.
  19. In the message from Chester on LP.com, why does he say they've started the tour in the US, that they're in Omaha, Nebraska, and that they are freezing? Does that make sense to anyone? Also, in Egypt? Wasn't Adam on the set for the video shoot, and didnt it happen in a paramount lot? That doesnt look much like a cave to me, more like a sound stage.. lol
