New album and concerts coming soon to a city near you!” = $ one is a massive story that will get music fans everywhere talking.. The other is a headline that will quickly be forgotten about by the general public and will turn in to a niche project for dedicated fans similar to anything Mike Shinoda has done under his own name.

He recorded it last night, even though he kept tweeting that he recorded it days ago but Spotify was having issues uploading it. and then all he said was the exact same thing he was saying all week when teasing the news he had, which was basically “They may or may not be coming back” Guy is a moron.

The longer they wait, the less it makes sense from a marketing standpoint. If they want a story, It makes zero sense to announce something Saturday or Sunday, and it’s about to already be after noon on the west coast. So at this point if there is still more coming, it’s gonna be a few days. So basically no, I don’t think there is more coming from this particular string of events at least.

If this is really it, it’s very poor timing on Mike’s part to make a post saying he’s been “in the lab” and that there’s exciting things coming.

I feel like that’s what makes it BIO the perfect song to lead with and ease us in to a new singer. It’s still a hit, and a song everybody knows but it’s not really an iconic Chester Linkin Park song, and it’s a great live song they can use for media appearances while promoting the comeback. I feel like if they came right out of the gate with a new version of Numb, In The End, or other songs on that similar level, it might not sit as well with a lot of people and just feel kinda weird/wrong. I also think if this were to happen, it makes way more sense to start with a few songs that feature Mike fairly prominently as well, just to keep it feeling like Linkin Park rather than just some random cover. not saying that’s what’s happening right now with the tweets, but just a random theory. I’d personally be a lot happier if they came back with a new song or a new album though rather than re-recording classics, but it does make way more sense to start with some familiarity.
