  1. Thanks to Jonas I managed to record it from Cable FM. The quality isn't any better (see spec analysis) but I'm going to share it anyway.

  2. As mentioned in the shoutbox earlier, it reminded me of the 'True Detective' intro, visually. http://i.imgur.com/roHWm86.png

Something I noticed for the very first time, since the music video has the song including the outro, and the topic of the song and video is death, that the baby cry at the very end means that the life cycle repeats. Never saw it that way before.

Yeah, at first I was wondering why the Outro was included, but then it suddenly made sense.

  3. Just had the first listen and I'm positively surprised! I didn't expect them to do such a "hard" record again after their latest albums. I'm not that into Rock anymore, but I already prefer this album over their electro-influenced pop/rock albums (especially ATS).

  4. ... That's why LP went on "ticket alert" in Germany and places were starting to mention the tour ...

That reminds me that there was such a "ticket alert" in the latest eventim.de newsletter from about a week ago. It read something like "Does the acclaimed band come to Germany with their new album 'The Hunting Party'? Register for the ticket alert and get informed immediately!"

Maybe that was just written on assumption, or they already have some information that's not public yet.

  5. I downloaded both and I'm trying to find out the differences, too.

The (larger) rutracker rip is 1:41:43 and the Dime one is 1:42:04. These are just unimportant seconds of showing the crowd before the Intro starts. According to MediaInfo, the Dime one has a video bitrate of 11.4Mbps and the rutracker one has 13.0 Mbps, so the size difference is due to a higher bitrate.

Is there more than one SAT feed for that channel?

I just demuxed both rips, and the video stream sizes turn out as: 8.06GB for Dime, and 8.03GB for rutracker. So it seems to be the same video stream/quality after all! Looks like the rutracker rip is "bloated" with something I don't understand.

That's quite a time span  I was bored earlier today and downloaded/converted the same videos.

    Alice K YouTube-Rip. AAC LC 190 kbps -> MP3 192 kbps (split tracks). There's

who filmed the complete show too, but even though the audio has more depth, I think the Alice K video sounds better (less distortion).

  7. What a brilliant interview. I didn't expect to be that excited for the next LP record.

“That’s it, I’ve had it, fuck this band, they’re not making music for me anymore because all I want to hear is heavy guitars and there isn’t a guitar to be found on this record. They’re singing about the world’s ills and there’s a bunch of electronic bleeps and blips, fuck these guys.”

  8. I love how some people have this attitude like playing a run of European festivals where a band can literally play for over half a million people in the span of a week somehow doesn't constitute a "proper" tour, [...]

For a fan, a couple of festival shows don't substitute a real tour. I wouldn't want to travel across the entire country just to pay more money than I want to, to be part of a festival I don't want to be part of, just to see my favourite band. I don't think LP has ever neglected Europe, though. So I myself wouldn't dare to coplain.

New LP out this year? Sounds awesome! I hope they don't try to completely re-invent themselves once again. Living Things was a step in the right direction imho. No DSPs? Sounds great from a taper/collector's perspective, so recordings actually have some value again and are worth listening to.

  9. Is it worth to download? What's the difference between this and webcast? (besides resolution)

No. I just compared it to the 720p iTunes webcast and an earlier (compressed) 720p MTV FR re-broadcast. Looks rather bad in comparison.

MTV FR broadcast upscaled to 1920x1078: http://i.imgur.com/osQt9GZ.jpg

Looks like this recent (?) re-broadcast had a very washed-out/low quality source.

  10. The only way to get it is the shitty 190kbps versions (not even 320) available as digital downloads. That's a big incentive to buy the CD I guess. Maybe that's why good audio quality versions aren't made available ASAP.

Almost every recent LPU CD (if not all) was sourced from lossy material, if I recall correctly. The sound quality between their digital downloads and "lossless" CDs doesn't differ that much. It'll be interesting to see if any of the songs of the upcoming CD are truly lossless - I do hope so!

Ready for some new demos! Time to re-listen to the previous volumes again!

  11. Thanks! 10 years O_O

Yeah, I wonder if this is actually different to the copy that's flying around. Need to dig that one out and compare.

Also wondering what that "Original master is around 4 GB" comment is about. I know in the very first trade I made for that show all I got was a ~4GB MPG video because the other person wasn't able to do an exact DVD copy, so she (?) did some kind of manual transfer that bloated the file. Dunno if this could be related to the "original master" note...

Edit: Just compared them (found my 1,61GB copy), the first .vobs are identical in MediaInfo. I made a screenshot of the same frame and they're identical, too. The DIME upload doesn't have the bluescreen in the 2nd vob. Looks like this is just the exact same copy we had for years.

I assume there's only one transfer ever made, and judging by this screenshot that one was made using a standalone DVD-Recorder.
