Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't they have to finish Across the Line first, before releasing it though? That means that it wasn't actually finished in MTM sessions.

I doubt that they'd finish any song before releasing it in LPU. If they had done this, then the demo was fake, which is not true obviously.

  2. The question about the unreleased songs from OML was mine. The question as Mike read it seems very general. Actually, I added specific demo names from One More Light to my question (Out of Reach and My Horizon) but unforunately, Mike read only the first part of my submission.

I must admit that I don't believe what he's saying is true. Obviously, fans have too high expectations when it comes to demos like Pictureboard or Thoughts That Take Away My Pride. They are treated like holy grails but may truly be not as good as fans think. However, I'm sure that they must have around 16-17 almost-finished songs for each album before they choose the final tracklist. It's just how things work. We know songs like Across the Line and No Roads Left which could go straight to Minutes To Midnight and replace one of the songs with no problem. I believe that besides Friendly Fire, they had Out of Reach and one or two songs that were considered to be put on One More Light. Same with Living Things or A Thousand Suns (maybe one or two albums had fewer b-sides than Minutes To Midnight but they had to have one or two at least). Therefore, it is possible that these songs may be better than the ones put on the final tracklist because music is always subjective. Then, I can't believe Mike when he's saying that they always release the best songs on the album because his view is definitely not fully objective. It is impossible that the only fully finished songs are the ones released.

  3. I don't know why but I have a feeling that they'd play Halfway Right and/or Sorry For Now. I remember the live stream with Mike on Instagram in which he thought that they did play Halfway Right live when he was asked about the song. I think that Mike was the brains behind LP setlists and maybe he already planned the setlist/setlists for this tour. The comeback of setlists rotation would be cool too, actually. I know they rotated old songs (APFMH, FTI, SIB) on the OML European Tour but I mean something more like in 2008 with different openings, encores, etc. I hope they'll do it more often when/if they come back. This was always an intriguing point for me after Chester's passing but I guess we'll never know.

  4. Wow, nice find!

I'd always wanted to see any Xero/Hybrid Theory live footage - it was really one of the things that I wanted to experience in my life. 😂 The quality isn't the best here but it's better than nothing. I hope we'll be able to see some more recordings like this one day. I can't also wait to hear this version of Rhinestone as it was hyped up so much in recent years.

  5. I read both the initial post and now the edited one. The current text is better organised and clearer so it's good that you changed some things. Even though I don't agree with some of your points, it was a very good read. You're often mean to other people but you definitely care about the band and I'm glad that there is someone who goes deeper into some things connected with them so I can get to know more stuff.

I like that you always mention very obscure facts like Chester telling Jim Digby to fuck off backstage after one of the London's show in 2017. I didn't know that and one or two other things so it was definitely worth reading. Do you have anything more like this? I don't want to go into Chester's personal life too much, obviously but I'm a big fan of him and the band so I'd like to know as much as I can and I see that Garret knows a lot so maybe there are more interesting facts that I still don't know. Maybe you should do a seperate thread with things like this. Not only connected with personal lives of the band members but just with some obscure facts that you've got to know over the years. I'm sure many people would read that. You wouldn't have to add everything at once but just some and then different stuff after some days again.

  6. Great setlists, Casey29! No Roads Left opening would be epic. It won't happen probably, even if LP comes back. They won't be bothered to play this kind of b-side, I think. They'd probably think that a lot of people don't know it and don't want to hear it during a concert. However, I'd definitely like to see this song live one day.

Very realistic sets and with a lot of exciting stuff. Hope they'll come back next year and we'll see something similar.

The song credits also don't have Dave on it. If I had to guess, could be a song by a independent artist which uses sample(s) from some HT track (which would "explain" the lack of Dave and presence of Chester in credits), and also the two other guys and Baby CD thing.

Good point! Unfortunately, you may be right.

  8. I've just written about it on shoutbox but what if this is the song from an album with some unreleased songs with Chester that the band is going to release? I think before they come back to releasing normal stuff with a new vocalist or Mike as a lead singer, they'd like to release the last album with Chester on vocals. I suppose they have a lot of stuff that they've never released and they could easily make one or two albums with Chester. Fans would love this and it'd be a great point to start something new without Chester. If this is a new song with, let's say, Mike on vocals, why Chester would be there? My theory kind of makes sense and I hope I'm right. :D

Could you just genuinely shut up?

Obviously that guy cares. C'mon, how ignorant can you be?

I don't even bother to reply to his comments. He wants to know every detail about MTM Tour and listens to every DSP available but when I asked one thing about the live shows from this period, he had a problem with that. I don't care about him because I got used to the fact that he's mean, just found it quite funny.

We knew about it since 2008. Band wanted to play it during the encore but ultimately didn’t like the way it sounded and I think Mike didn’t feel fully comfortable doing it. Could have done a nice version with Chester on vocals though, would have been cool.

As I said, I knew about the whole situation but I just didn't know how people got to know about it. Thanks for the reply though.

Lots of pictures were posted of LPU members with the band at this performance, many with signed copies of setlists. Most were setlists from the actual performance but one was a full PR08 rehearsal setlist that had No Roads Left in it.

Do you have the photo? I know it's maybe not important but this kind of stuff is always really interesting for me. Even if you don't have it, thanks for the clarification as I didn't have a clue about the situation at all.

How the hell this kind of stuff get leaked? I'm pretty sure this is not from a promo CD or something like that.

I was also thinking about it. Is a posthumous Chester's album in preparation? Or is it just a leak from someone that is close to the band? That's interesting because I've never seen such a leak before. All the leaks that came out of nowhere were tracks from some kind of promo CDs (like She Couldn't or Xero Rapology tracks) but the origin of this leak is mysterious for me - it was totally unexpected and odd.

The background vocals sounds like there was also someone else besides Mike.

I think that's not Chester but simply Mike's higher vocals. Mike proved that he can sound a little bit similar to Chester, like in "Waiting for Tomorrow" or "Over Again" backing vocals. The background vocals sounds a lot like Mike, in my opinion.

  13. @Nisshin, who confirmed it to be legitimate? I've never doubted it but it's always cool to be sure.

One more thing - I think that a demo of the song was created at the same time as Welcome, which is at the beginning of 2015. Mike mentioned "Last Straw" in making of Welcome LPTV so I think "What Are You Worth" can be more advanced version of "Last Straw".

  14. You've all misinterpreted me. I'm extremely grateful to Mike for keeping everything alive. He helps the fans and music that he's been releasing is great. I will repeat it again - Mike is my biggest inspiration and idol. I simply don't like one little thing about his actions and I'm being attacked for my opinion. Mike is not obligated to write songs about Chester and I still like his solo songs, even though they're not directly about Chester.

I don't know what to say more about this case but I think that you are all too sensitive, guys. Every critical word about something related with Linkin Park is a reason to attack. C'mon, nobody is perfect and even though I love Mike and his music, I can express a negative opinion about him or his songs.
