  1. Happy to share! I wish I also got video of the Kenji/COG mashup as it worked surprisingly well too. Mike took a moment after the song to thank us for our reaction. I think he wasn't sure how the crowd would react given the subject matter, but everyone definitely seemed into it.
  2. Ha, that's my video. I love what he did with Cigarettes, especially that ending. For those who are curious, here are some other videos I took from the front: Petrified (partial) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nkWwV2Lnb4 It's Goin' Down - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6gtFLGjeKg Devil's Drop - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9kbtPNX1fk Where'd You Go - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrtNB-vxz9o Welcome - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THGi1pE07Mk Remember The Name - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmMZDibhP6k The mash-up of Believe Me and When They Come For Me was also really cool, so hopefully a video of that one surfaces. Overall, it was a really awesome show!
  3. I was at KROQ's Weenie Roast and the performance caught everyone off guard. The crowd cheered super loud as soon as they figured out it was Stone Temple Pilots, but throughout all of Vasoline, everyone was saying things like, "Is that Chester of Linkin Park?" and "Who's the guy in the sunglasses?" It wasn't until the second or third song that it seemed to really click with everyone, at least in my section of the amphitheater. Awesome performance, though, and it's cool to see Chester get to become part of one of his favorite bands. KROQ seems to be pulling down webcast captures pretty fast, but if you're curious what Chester sounded like singing "Wicked Garden," I took a video of it. Not the best view, but good sound quality:

    MTV VMA's

Good thing you managed to grab your SD card. You're probably one of the only people who got footage of Bleed It Out. Sucks about your camera though.
  5. Downloading now... Can't wait to listen to it!

    MTV VMA's

I'm surprised you managed to record the whole song. Every time I saw someone whip out a camera/phone, security stopped them pretty quickly.

    MTV VMA's

I'm not sure what happened to the mixing when MTV aired the performance, but I was actually there and it sounded much better in person (to me at least). I was at the corner of the center stage, right behind Mike and in front of Joe's stage. I couldn't see Phoenix at all and my view of Chester was kind of obscured by the center stage's wall, but I did have a great view of Joe, Brad, Rob, and um, Mike's back. The nice thing was that whenever Mike/Chester needed something, the stagehand would pop up right next to me. So Mike came over to me on multiple occasions. And Chester came by my corner in between songs and shook my hand, so that was cool. Got his autograph after the show too. I thought it was funny how LP went about playing the bonus songs. After they did a quick rehearsal of The Catalyst, they spontaneously jumped into Bleed It Out. Then, while waiting for the actual VMA performance to begin, Joe and Mike played bits and pieces of various songs (the intro to Numb, the beat of Wretches & Kings and When They Come From Me, etc.). Chester sung the first line of Crawling after fans requested it, and Phoenix and Rob did the bass line/rhythm of a Red Hot Chili Peppers song for a few seconds (the name of the song escapes me right now). Then came the televised performance of The Catalyst, and after that, the band did New Divide. Chester brought his mic stand over to the backside of the stage (basically where I was) as compensation for being hidden from view during the Catalyst performance, which was cool of him. Interestingly, MTV had all the lights and effects synced up with New Divide and appeared to have filmed it, so I wouldn't be surprised if it popped up online one of these days. Overall I thought it was a lot of fun. The band was super nice and seemed genuinely appreciative of everyone being there. Chester even stuck around for a good 20 minutes or so signing autographs for people as they were leaving.

    LA Laser Show

I went last night and thought it was really cool. I wasn't sure what to expect when going, so I was amazed by how cool the lasers turned out to be. I definitely didn't think they'd have full-blown animations with stories and the like. "Robot Boy" was particularly story-heavy. It started with a little robot-like guy running into an alligator, fleeing from it, and then eventually going back to confront it (and somehow swapping heads with it). The rest of the event was great too. The band did a nice, albeit brief, Q&A and Mike stuck around signing autographs for another 15-20 minutes after that. The only lame part was that Mike stopped signing autographs and left when he was only one person away from me lol. During the Q&A, they mentioned that the band didn't actually see any of the laser show until it ran last night. So I guess that was a bit of a gamble on LP's part, but it worked out in the end. Props to Lazarium, the company that put the whole laser show together. I posted a brief video of the ending to "Wretches and Kings" on YouTube for those who are interested. It's not the best quality, but it still shows what the event was like. Here it is:
  9. Just bought a LPUX subscription, primarily for the LA listening event/light show thingy. I agree that $60 is kind of a lot for a fan club, but if you look at it as buying a concert ticket with some free songs and LPU goodies thrown in, the price is a bit more reasonable. Either way, I'm excited for the LA event!
  10. Awesome. Thanks for the quick response.
  11. First time poster, longtime lurker. I have a quick question for Adam. I'm considering signing up for LPUX just for the LA multimedia experience, but I was wondering if there is any live performance aspect to the show or if LP will even be there? I figure if I'm essentially paying the $60 for the multimedia experience, I should know what I'm getting into lol. Also, if I choose the "Confirmed Ticket" option, does that guarantee me a seat? I understand if you can't give much of an answer to my first question because you're trying to keep things a secret, but even a hint would be helpful. Thanks!
