  1. If you even remotely follow LP and the behind the scenes stuff, you'll see that Rick Rubin doesn't really impede their progress. It sounds like he'll occasionally check in for pipe dream type questions then leave it to Mike and the guys to figure it out. Rick has produced ever genre under the fucking sun and the biggest names in those genres as well.

If you want to blame a producer, blame Dan Gilmore for overproducing the shit out of LP and partially driving them to abandon Nu-Metal as quick as possible due to caving into pressure for HT2. If it wasn't for him, maybe you'd have your precious 'I want to punch a hole in the wall and cut my wrists' music made by a bunch of guys in their mid 30s...

  2. Can't wait to see what they do with this on Monday. Mike tweeted Rick Rubin will be there to discuss the production process so that should be awesome too!

Still think Victimized is impressive. Jamming all of that into 100ish seconds is pretty impressive. Yeah it's short, but in this case there is so much going on in that short time frame it flows and will be a hell of verse(s) to throw on top of BiO to close the set. I almost vote they just go BiO into Victimized and wrap. That "short circuit" (couldn't think of any other way to explain) synth over Mike's second verse is fucking amazing.

I'm not a fan of slower LP stuff, but I'm digging the 2nd half of the album. The electronic backing really drives it and keeps it progressing. Roads Untraveled has a Johnny Cash "Hurt" feel to it and both Mike/ Chester pull that shit off!

See everybody who's going on Monday at Sonos!!!

  3. Notwithstanding the fact "A Living Horizon" sounds like an eye/eargasm, I'm hoping to get into the WBR listening event tomorrow. Almost as fun as listening to ATS, was discussing it and Linkin Park in general with WBR staff involved in the process. Very fun all around.

  4. Special Guest aye? LP/ Muse = Jean creaming time, but not happening.

Too bad you have to win tickets. That's why I hate KROQ contest because they don't really yield winners who represent the fan base if I can say that w/o sounding snooty. Still going to spam said contests...

  5. Think the setlist gripe for me was Mike had in an interview that they'd like to play odd/ old songs but most of their arena/festival shows had such a broad audience, they didn't want to alienate people which makes perfect sense. I think he said this right before the Mayan show and look what got played there, shocker, festival setlist. I'll be happy with whatever they play because of the venue and album hype, but I think for now, Muse is the only tour I'll follow multiple stops on. Got a tad bored hitting LV, SD and LA on the ATS tour due to the minimal variety.
