  1. Wrong. None of that studio footage is from them recording the song other than Chester doing the vocals and the shots of the band around the computer and stuff. The clip of Rob playing drums looks like it's reused from the Making of New Divide video, and the shot of Phoenix playing guitar doesn't even come remotely close to matching up with the guitar part in the song.

The entire instrumental portion of the song is probably 3 years old, maybe more, so why would there be 2010 studio footage of the band playing the instrumental parts?

it also shows Joe using a smapler when it's a keyboard part done by mike. Joe's contribution would have been the drumbeat and the scratchs.

I was happy to see Joe finally tho as I was worried he'd disappeared after having very little part of the creation process shown on MTM

.....to the point he moaned "my parts were turned down" only to be "had a go" (i use this lightly as it's more of.....we don't know why "his part were turned down") at by mike/brad "everyone had a say, he could have told us but he didn'tlike something"

    Need more Joe.......MORE JOE HAHN!

and i think the sunglasses were a touch "ooooo did you really just do that?". They could of had performance shots simular to the let down video.

  2. I know bands hate repeating themselves...but i did not buy Hybrid Theory because of Linkin Park as individuals.....I bought it because of it's sound. I was dissappointed with MTM with the departure of the sound I fell in love with.

Bands sound realise this before they go "we want to change"....fair enough.....but it's like making a new band when they change.

I am ready to be flamed (puts on flameproof jacket)

thanks to everybody else who posted links! :)

I remember watching these religiously lol.

  4. guys try to get him a release date for the new album or at least try to make him

promise for june 2010!!then he wont be able to break his promise :D

Yeah because things don't cock up when people promise stuff. I'd rather we waited for something that wasn't rushed if i'm honest. If they give a release date then they'll rush the album and it won't be as good as it can be. AND! Mike is a perfectionist so he'll never promise to a release date anyway unless forced by Warner who own his soul.

  5. There's a few questions, but i didn't sign up to LPU this year due to unemployment. So here's so ideas.

Was Linkin Park's/Hybrid theory's first ever show recorded by the band or a friend of the band is there a chance that the archive footage will be shown to LPU in the future?

Out of any demo you, or the rest of the band have made, have you felt should have been progressed more before being either voted out or at the time you felt it wasn't "your sound"?

How many songs, can you remember, did you demo for Hybrid Theory Album that isn't public knowledge? Just a number, names are desirable but numbers will do.

Back in 2002/2003 you/your band made a remark saying you "buried" the demos for "Meteroa" in Joe's backyard. Did you have to dig them back up for LPU9?

  6. A-6

Drums sound a lot nicer than the ones on the LPU2. But I missed the scratches from joe. The keyboard filling in the background (method used in many songs on HT) makes a welcome return.

This song also shows off Rob's drumming a bit better than other songs. Shame they could think of any melody/lyrical ideas for this song, or at least used it to open shows with.

    Faint

Mike's rap is cool on this, and the guitar part in the verses is a bit refreshing with the bass coming in on part 2. I do however, prefer Faint from Meteora.

    Sad

My December on the keyboard part? This is a good insight on how mike/joe cme up with the beats tho. Just changing them slowly until they found the "right" one. This is a very cool wor in progress song.

    Fear

I hated the nonsence rap, and I agree with what Mike said in the MTM dvd, that it sounds very cliche for a band like them to just stick it in like that. Again, prefer the final product. Even lyrically I prefer the final, as this deals with finding identy (much like somewhere I belong was) and the final deals with wanting to leave you identy on earth with a postive energy rather than a bad one which is a much better message.

    Figure Point Xero Nine

Much heavier riff than he final, made me bang my head. The pre chorus reminded me of Queen Of The Damned for some reason. The chorus musically reminded me of "Never Ment To Hurt You So Bad" by Crazy Town. NO, NO TURNING BACK!!!!! was amazing tho.

    Stick N Move

Sounded like a hypnotic song, like something joe would play between songs or even an intro to Runaway. Still a nice work in progress again

    Across the Line

Didn't like how this opened, it's not as strong as the other songs on MTM imo. Lyrically it is good, but musically.....it just fails to keep my attention until the overdrive starts.

    Drawing

Wasn't expecting to hear the guitar on this at all. The drum beat malipulation at the end does get a bit Aphix Twin / DJ Shadow and almost becomes too much for your ears.....espeically with headphones on. It like Mike just got too excited and put every idea in he could think of.

    Drum Song

As a drummer, loved this song. Love the piano gave it a calmer attitude than the acoustic did. I liked that the full band came in sooner as well. This is one where I am almost tempted to say I like the structure more than the final......it's just a shame that mike/chester hadn't written any lyrics for the verses yet.

Overall I'm happy we've finally got these demos and I hope that both LP and LP management see the positive effect it has had on sales for the LPU and LPU member satisfaction and continue to do this in the future.

  7. wonder if any of the band are in knowledge of the early sales of the package. I still can't see anywhere to pre order it on the web for the uk.

*hoping someone will help out with a link*

Last package I bought was LPU6 and all I got was a t shirt, cd and wristband. No letter from rob or guitar pick. Not annoyed tho as the cd was awesome enough.

    Getting hyped for this.
