On the bbc radio 1 live lounge on fern cotten's show at just before 12noon, Pendulum performed their cover of the catalyst. Cant link as on iphone.

The UK official chart on Radio 1 has been revealed and The Catalyst is a new entry in at #40. This is Linkin Park's lowest UK new entry position behind Breaking The Habit (#39), however "From The Inside" failed to chart when it was released in the UK

why is everyone almost demanding that LP "talk to the crowd"? personally, i'd be pretty fecked off if LP spent too much time talking and not enough time playing the songs. You've just spent, £30 (equiv in local currencies) on tickets to an LP gig, and you want them to say generic sayings such as "you guys fucking rock" and "you're the best crowd we've every played to"... which you can guarantee they'll say the same at the next show. if you get a rise out of this rather than hearing music then i really dont understand.

2 shows which will probably have exactly the same short setlist...how does that make you feel?!!

my mistake, i obviously didn't read it properly. In light of that, i think it's worth waiting until the first show before complaining. Didn't they say they would be doing this all new concert experience? Maybe the shorter music set will be compensated by other forms of media?(e.g. Lights, art, video etc) Or is this opening tour is going to be a 'no thrills' South America/Europe tour before taking it up another notch for the US, and then coming back for Euro festivals.

"this dude" did not whine about cardiff being too far away, i didn't even mention that i lived in Cardiff, that was an assumption on your part. my "whine" was simply that the South West seldom gets the dates it deserves for tours, but as i mentioned, it's worse for those in Scotland etc.

it's a poor excuse of a "UK" tour. a) no Scotland,wales, northern ireland date B ) the only area of England to not have a date is South West! Cardiff would suffice, and it would tick the Welsh box too.

i dont think it quite works like that... that's like usain bolt preferring to participate in the paralympics.

Reasons include a nation's competition laws, government legislations...

Another way to look at it, is that "catalyst" could be more linked loosely to its dictionary definition. As in, the thing that kickstarts it all. But thats probably too complex to be right and more likely to be a song name.

it all depends on the territory. Muse are bigger than Linkin Park in the UK, but that's not consistent throughout the rest of the world.
