  1. 1. You've seen 2 screenshots and a 5-second clip recorded on a camera phone.

    2. These CGI videos may be "directed" by Joe, but Ghost Town Media does like 90% of the work. See: Waiting For the End. Once they're done with the basic on-set shots, Joe's out of the picture.

I saw a video of it last night, low quality, but pretty sure it was legit. The models in the pictures above were used, as well as the stuff from the lyric video (that giant blob of shapes). I was actually pretty impressed, it gave off a very Pts. of Athrty style mixed with a girl running around a digital city, while Mike and Chester (and I think I saw Brad's?) disembodied heads pop up every once in a while singing. Definitely matched the song.

Looking forward to the actual video.

  2. still using an image to bitchin'?

    if everyone was like you....

    ......oh poor world

On a related note, how are the DSPs sounding this year? I know on the ATS tour, a few I got were....sub-par in audio quality. i.e. Kinda like the Bristol show back in May, the rip from the stream vs the actual DSP. A few that I had sounded like the rip.

Also, are there any shows so far people recommend over others?

  3. Ahhh Album release time.....When everyone on here shows their true colors to everyone else, and you get bitched at if you say you don't like HT/Meteora or ATS/MTM. Then there's the undeserving people who bitch no matter what.

Personally Like I've said I feel like this is the album that should've been where ATS was. Granted I think ATS is a masterpiece. MTM will always be my favorite album by them with ATS coming in a close second. This is as good as ATS or slightly better. There's only three or four songs I don't like on here. Burn it Down, Lies Greed Misery, I'll Be Gone, and sometimes Skin to Bone and sometimes Lost in the Echo.

My favorites are Roads Untraveled, Castle of Glass, In My Remains.

Shit man, your tastes have changed since high school :P (though somehow we still have damn similar tastes). Though LITE and IBG are played more on my ipod because I want the energy they have.

Castle of Glass is really intriguing. I can't really put my finger on why it stands out so much to me.

  4. nahh mate, making a nice deal of going down to the record store and (literally) getting my hands on it. I want to be called a slowpoke when I make my "ipubenrvipbqerbpi" post

    haha deal ;)

but, but the album sounds amazing. Just one listen couldn't hurt.

You know you want to ;)

Also, I plan on being at the doors to best buy waiting them for open on the 26th.

In my ATS shirt of course :D

  5. Numb, Faint, In The End, Somewhere I Belong, Don't Stay.

My brother had both the first cds and would play those tracks whenever he drove me around.

MTM was the first album that was actually MINE and not a burned copy of them. After that, I got every single other cd they've put out in retail.

  6. I agree with you that LP never said it, but I just think many of the reviews we've all been reading over the past few months were a little misleading. That's what I meant with the overhyped reference The energy is there - you are right, but I just don't hear anything familiar to it in the sound. Lost in the Echo is probably the closest. Chances are I will end up liking this just like I have everything else they've done, I guess I was just expecting something different.

They also said Victimized would be so fucking heavy that it made me think it was going to be something like (as I told CookieMonster) : "QWERTY with dragons and cannons and chainsaws". It wasn't. :P

I'm interested to see the reviews for this album and what they'll be like considering it isn't so far from the normal standard. The quality of the ATS reviews (good and bad) typically sucked.

  7. I've been a huge LP fan from day one, and I hate to say this, but I'm pretty disappointed with the album so far. To be fair, I've got to give it another listen, but I feel like this album was way too overhyped in the sense of a return to an original sound. Other than the fact that there is a little more rapping and an even mix of Mike and Chester on this album, I don't think this has any reflection of HT in it whatsoever. Not one song was created with actual music -- seems like everything they do now is created on a computer.

I'm not going to knock anyone that says they like it - to each his own. Just my opinion... I just don't think this is "winning back" fans that didn't like ATS.

LP never really said Living Things would be a return to Hybrid Theory...they said some songs would sound familiar to HT era fans, but they stressed that it was the convergence of everything they've done so far. To me they achieved that.

    Living Things had:

The pure raw energy of Hybrid Theory and Meteora.

The variation of song styles from Minutes to Midnight.

The electronic elements from A Thousand Suns.

The personal sides from Rising Tieds and Out of Ashes

Also, welcome LT era LPLive member :D

  8. This is something for your people on the block to/ back down and rock to

Give you whatcha need like Papa/Who shot ya

Separate the weak from the obscure, lead your meek, I creep hard on imposters

This is something for your people on the block to/ black out and rock to

  9. Idk guys I like it live!! I've been playing the Lisboa version ALOT in my car lately and it's a cool one to jam out to!

idk why I found this post so amusing. I think it was just so different than the other posts about whatever Mike's doing with vocals.

I've been playing LGM from Lisboa a crapload in my car too. I have to watch that I don't crash my car from rocking out to it :P

  10. Yes I know how a guitar sounds. And there's a thing called effect pedal that can make it sound like ANYTHING. Not only one type of distortion makes it "a guitar".

But do you know how the breaking point sounds?

    Mike showed me recently.

Chester was a bit of a dick about it. Wanted me to choke and suffer all alone.

on topic - I'm really liking the sound of the snippets. LITE seems really interesting.

So far, I'm impressed with what we've heard of the 7 songs

    BID - very good

    LGM - amazing

Tinfoil - second only to JDM for me

UIB - I like the lyrics to the verse they currently do to the intro of WFTE

LITE - it does have that dance sound to it, but I like how it fuses it with the heavy guitar sound

IMR - I like the build up of the snippet.

    IBG - Awesome guitar

  11. Meh, I think I'm gonna do what I did with ATS

Get the leak when I find out about it.

    Listen to it, change pants.

When I can get the hard copy, get it, listen to it, same reaction.

This time, however, I will be able to get Living Things as soon as it releases where ATS I had to wait a month until I could get transportation to Best Buy (collegeproblems)

  12. It sounds very lackluster to me. I thought the musical energy of the original really drove the song and this is kinda like it's trying to hold back.

Overall unimpressed, I've seen LPL people do much better on some remixes in my opinion.

I did like that it took a new direction, just wasn't satisfied with that direction.

  13. Thank you!! Also in response to the whole WTCFM business, I love that song, it represents the epic side of the band. Runaway is a crowd pleaser, nothing more. Both are good in their own respective ways, but the first would probably fit more in a setlist aimed to please the new era fans. Probably a safer choice.

See, the only reason I don't see why they rotate WTCFM with Runaway is because the styles are so different.

i.e. Rotate Runaway and APFMH, WTCFM and W&K

As far as the show goes - I like the setlist, kinda follows my perceived "theme" of this album cycle where it's utilizing the "best of what they've done".

The medley was awesome. I was a little skeptical because I love LOATR and Iridescent and was disappointed they weren't there in full. I especially liked how the medley followed the format of Iridescent. LOATR with just piano and vocals like the first verse, SOTD with some more music, then bridge and outro with the band in full.

I couldn't really hear the words in the Until it Breaks, but I really liked the flow Mike had in it.
