  1. Anyone else notice the fact that there's a completely opposite mood in the video than the Making Of ATS?

ATS : rushed, not happy with their situation

This : the happy, do whatever stuff

I definitely think WB loosened their grip, and LP took full control to do what they want with this record.

No matter what it sounds like, I feel it's going to be at, or almost at, the peak of their "attitudes toward music" whether with Warner or without. If Warner or another label continues to let them do whatever method they're utilizing, then we will have numerous records with this heart behind it. If not, then it'll be less than expected on each record.

  2. i think he meant "judging by the title it sounds like..."

I don't think anyone but management/mixers etc will have heard the full tracks :P

it is also rather silly to be judging what a track may or may not sound like on the basis of a title. we had this discussion for Burn It Down... -_-

And for every song on ATS :P

  3. that twitter account isn't even-

    oh never mind.

You know, people keep saying "oh that doesn't sound too heavy", but the song builds with each chorus until it completely explodes after Mike's verse. That's what I heard in the earlier leak, anyway. Can't wait to hear the whole thing on Monday.

I'm expecting a kind of Jornada Del Muerto progression.

    Vocals with "transe"-y music

    Chorus with electronic music

    Verse with original music

    Chorus with more aggressive music

Rap to continuation of 2nd chorus music

EXPLOSION of Chorus and Music to bring the song to an incredible climax

Quick outro with deceleration of music that leads into the next, more aggressive song

  4. I know haha... But if the new album will sound a bit more heavier than ATS i think Living Things is not a heavier name for an album heavier,

Meteora is heavier than A Thousand Suns

Greek Orthodox Monasteries = heavier than the explosion of 1000 stars?

If Living Things is the album name, I think it'd be in reference to something about the album's theme, possibly like how each song "has a life of its own" or something like that

  5. What I was most interested in was Chester's mentions of the lyrical content; glimmers of hope, of positivity. That's something I'm not used to seeing with LP. That's what I'm definitely most interested to hear more about.

This has me a slight bit worried. I'm hoping the style of these positive lyrics are more along the lines of "Breaking The Habit" and Iridescent, not like "Not Alone".

I have always liked LP's headstrong theme among many of their songs and hope they keep the "fuck them, you can do this" attitude in the new album instead of becoming like cheerleaders going "you got this, tiger!"

  6. ATS was not rushed. An album that takes two years to make is never rushed.

(It arrives precisely when it means to.)

I think ATS was rushed, because in the Making Of ATS, the timeline for the album started out about February, 7 months before the release. Up until that point, they had been working on a lot of other songs (according to Chester), which were the ones that sounded like PTB and WWDK, which, imho, sound very different in style than the ATS batch.

Fingers still crossed for my original theory that they took the Post-MTM/Pre-ATS batch of songs and refined them into a perfect blend of the three eras of LP ^.^

  7. 2008 - "I heard fucking Pittsburgh knows how to fucking party! Am I right?? I want you to sing like it's friday night at the pub, the Pirates just lost, and you have nothing better to do than sing your fucking hearts out. Can you do that? Let's go!"

same show - LOATR was the new single, and they were saying to put up lighters, cell phones, anything with light to make it like a starfield
