  1. No probs guys... was good to be able to ask Mike something a little different compared to what some of the other people at meet and greets ask them. Mike was genuinely interested so I expect good things will come :)

  2. Ha, thanks for the mention guys :)

Has been an awesome trip so far (including not one, but FOUR meet and greets so far).

I'm going to be supplying set list updates at this show too but it's quite difficult to access the web when there are that many people using phone data at the same time. I've been texting Tom the set list so he can post on my behalf but happy to add any admins from here onto the text list if you want direct updates too?

  3. Travis Barker went back on his word? He's not going to Australia now? LOL wtf?? He said he was going! When Blink was first announced, it was Blink without Travis...then he said he'd take a boat and he'd be there. I wasn't aware he went back on that.

I believe the "Headline Set A" pic came from the stage and the other one came from Shinoda's keyboard area or something. Not exactly sure - ask the girl on Twitter (we RT'd the pic from her). It's legit though, she got it at the show.

Ha Blackout and BITS debut...lucky. I didn't even see them in a proper setting. Yes I saw each one rehearsed 5x but it'd be cool to see them in a show.

Yep! Was announced via Facebook over the weekend - deep apologies from the band and all that. People are going nuts. I can totally see where both sides are coming from. Can't blame the guy for not being able to do it. But can also see why people are furious that this was announced pretty much a week out from the first show. Normally people don't consider absent drummers to be a deal breaker, but Travis has a pretty huge profile, so can understand the massive disappointment - it's being dubbed as Blink 18...

With the set list - how unusual then that that one says Headline Set A while the other specifically states Australia. Bizarre!

I remember everyone freaked out when Mike said that and naturally assumed it would be the debut of Blackout. Then ended up getting the bonus of both songs being debuted. That was a really great show and one of my favourites from that tour.

  4. Please excuse me if I've missed something, but where did the original pic come from? Bit odd that there's already a printed copy of the Australian headline set floating about, no less one with black gaffa tape around it?

If that's the headline set then I'd be fine with it. Sure, I'll be disappointed not to hear POWERLESS live. But it's still early days for CASTLE OF GLASS and we haven't had a Linkin Park show in Australia since late 2010. But yeah, it certainly won't compare to the live debut of Blackout and Burning In The Skies that we got last time ;) I'll never forget how Mike said at the M&G that took place before that show 'we're debuting a new song tonight that starts with the letter B'. Cheeky mofo!

I'm definitely wanting to hear A Place For My Head open most (if not all) of the Soundwave shows. I think that song will get the crowd into a good place for the rest of the set. Not sure who mentioned it earlier, but I don't think the other bands at Soundwave could 'laugh' at this set... they've had more hits (which are in the set) than most of the bands on the bill. Oh and with Travis Barker now deciding not to come to Australia for the shows - that's been a massive blow for Blink.

  5. Grr. Still wish that LP had a longer set. You'd think being the second name on the bill they'd get longer than Paramore, Blink, etc. Ah well, can't complain since we're seeing them multiple times hey Pez? ;)

  6. he didn't said something like that, he just said that HE don't understand what are you guys talking about.

Sorry? A case of lost in translation by the looks of it. From what he said, I assume he's wondering why a seemingly old topic keeps bumping up the forum. I'm simply saying that it should still be relevant since the single only actually came out within the last 2 weeks, despite the original release date listed in the subject of this thread :)

  7. Obviously it wouldn't have been a vinyl at 5", but why list it in vinyl format and go as far as mentioning A size if they were talking about a CD all along - that would have been the first time ever that I'd seen a CD size mentioned on a CD listing. It was very obviously an early database entry (since it was months ago that it hit the site), lending the possibility that the '5' was simply a typo/miscommunication. But we're talking about an entire format change than what was listed on the site. This is also ignoring the fact that they sent a changed format (than what was on the order) without any form of notification. You can make any excuse for them that you wish, that's bad business practice pure and simple.

Oh and Somedude, it's their current single and the CD was just released, so why wouldn't it be a current topic?

  8. Also, not directly Linked to LP or this topic, but its got to do with the airing of some of their performance and the chick drumming is hot so heres the video :P I love it.

Nice find dude. We're gonna have to find someone to record that for us - since it'll be a bit hard with us on the road :D

  9. New promo video for the LIVING THINGS Australian Tour Edition.

That's quite cool. Couldn't they have done 10 seconds for LITE too? :P

Btw I was going to say. I'm happy to buy some of these Aussie tour editions in-store and post out to people if JBs shipping prices aren't reasonable (if they even ship internationally, which I think they do).

  10. Aussies can be right a**holes when push comes to shove. Luckily LP are on after, so hopefully, most of the Slayer fans would have vacated that stage.

Not predicting too many surprises with the festival sets... think we're likely to see something like the following:

    1. A Place For My Head

    2. Given Up

    3. Lying From You/Papercut

    4. VICTIMIZED/QWERTY

    5. New Divide

    6. IN MY REMAINS

    7. Points Of Authority

    8. Waiting For The End

    9. Numb

    10. Breaking The Habit

    11. The Catalyst

    12. LOST IN THE ECHO

    13. In The End

    14. BURN IT DOWN

    15. Faint

    16. What I’ve Done

    17. Bleed It Out

    18. One Step Closer

Though I wouldn't mind IN MY REMAINS being taken out and POWERLESS added in somewhere else in the set.

At this stage, fully expecting the sideshows to be my favourite shows of the 7.

  11. I voted for:

High Voltage (Remix) (Last played Sept 16, 2001)

Easier To Run (Last played April 26, 2003)

    Figure.09 (Last played Sept 11, 2004)

    Valentine's Day (Last played June 27, 2008)

The Little Things Give You Away (Last played Aug 23, 2008)

Wretches & Kings (Last played Feb 28, 2011)

But the song I am most dying to hear live is:

Pushing Me Away (Last played Aug 21, 2008)

It was one of my favourites on Hybrid Theory, and I've never been able to hear it live (in person).

  12. With the other shows apparently featuring only 1 main stage, is anyone else concerned/predicting that LP's set will be cut even shorter? Perhaps to 60 minutes rather than 75?

Also, they open these shows with either OSC or APFMH, they'll have the audience wrapped around their little fingers for the rest of the set (provided they keep the energy up of course).

  13. I was convinced LP and Blink would get 85/90 minute sets, so this news was a little disappointing to hear.

I don't envy the organisers. People are losing their sh*t all over the Soundwave Facebook page as well as twitter because of the clash between Metallica and Blink/Offspring. Supposedly, at the remaining shows, there is only going to be the one (well two) main stage, rather than the current two (four) main stages. They've also said the headliners will all play one after the other on the main stage. Can't help but wonder why they didn't do that for these two shows. Random!

  14. Paypal is only willing to do something if you can't work out a solution with the shop you ordered from. As you already have a solution for geting your money back what should they do?

I wouldn't classify that as a solution. And as I mentioned, the shop stopped responding to emails - so what else was I to do? And though I had good reason for making that comment based on this transaction alone, my issue with PayPal extends beyond this particular case. I only have myself to blame though, since I continue to use their 'services' :D

  15. Hey guys,

Just dropping in to give you a warning about the company EMP that were supposedly distributing the 5" vinyl version of CASTLE OF GLASS.

After ordering 5 of these back in December (had to order 5 before they would ship to Australia), the release date constantly changed, to which I received numerous emails from EMP advising of the change.

The other day I received an email saying 5 'MAXI CDs' of COG had been shipped. Noticing the 'CD' part of that not actually saying 5" vinyl, I queried with them. They responded that it was no longer being released on vinyl so they sent me the CDs instead - without even asking me! I responded that I was furious they had done this, to which they simply said 'refuse the delivery when it arrives and once it makes its way back to us, we'll refund you the money'.

I told them that this wasn't good enough, that they had made a significant change to the order without my consent and that I was just expected to cop the charge until they get the items back in weeks.

    And guess what? No reply.

I've tried disputing the charge with PayPal (who are just as useless), but because the original order was over 45 days ago, I'm straight out of luck.
