I'm purposefully asinine, because without adjustment, LP will find it hard to land headliner festival spots in the future. And then we're back to 50 min sets with 0 depth to it.

Well, I saw the Carnivores set in 2014 too (Berlin) and all of the same arguments can be echoed for that as well. GATS->GU->POA->OSC-BO->Papercut->Rebellion->Runaway was SUPER fun. You can jump along, scream along and really high tempo even when you don't know the songs as a casual fan. Fact of the matter is that it's murder to play Catalyst, Invisible, New Divide, BS, WFTE, One More Light, Crawling piano version at a metal festival. Half of the set are songs people have never heard of or are mid-tempo ballads with electronic elements attached to it.

2015 was part of THP world tour as well. Yes, the middle part I was not that fan of as well, but now it is similarily slow or even more so. Also, if you mention BID then now it is positioned even more strategically in the opening part.

The so-called "bad" THP set started with "Papercut->GU->Rebellion->POA->OSC-> ALITS-> FTI-> Runaway". This is literally as good as it gets. And compared to that, the current set is super slow. Talking to myself ("energetic") as opener, really? You can do stuff like that at headliner shows, but not at rock festivals, which this tour largely consists of.

Can this setlist be considered the worst of their career? Half of the songs are super meh live (Catalyst, Wastelands, Invisible, New Divide, BS ...) Especially the first part is very modest. How can a random festival goer enjoy this set?

I think it's a bit of a stretch to call a 5k capacity venue "a intimate" one. It's pretty clear they wanted to play two o2 arenas in a row, but didn't sell well enough so they downsized to a 5k one for the second night.

Chester definitely didn't feel well. He almost threw up during New Divide or burn it down. Sounded really sour as well.

I'm pretty sure they didn't play all the song from THP in rehearsal, because takes way too long. Bad ticket sales? not really, just chester being busy with STP

Looking at the production value for this tour, MB is bringing in some serious cash.

"missing kids birthdays" I mean you were basically handed free money to tour some with a well-known artist. You can never decline that offer and one part of being a musician is being on the road, so that's such a stupid statement.

I hope he continues to jump, as those get me so pumped during live shows, so badass:D. A bit worried after reading the article, but not the end of the world obviously.

I'm worried Europe will have the same setlist as we have now and that would be very boring. They don't have much time to rehearse in the summer at least.

The supply of festivals is at an all-time high and they would have to compete with those "one-off big-ass weekend festivals" which are more popular both for fans and sponsors, so it's is not worth the trouble slash not profitable enough.

hard to agree with the statement that other bands have way more diverse setlist Paramore plays literally the same setlist half a year in a row, night after night. NIN doesn't vary either, which is mostly related to the fact that they have a huge production for each song so hard to deliver random songs. That doesn't mean they suck or whatever. Might be boring to go to 5 shows in a row though yes.
