  1. I wish I would have entered the contest, I though they were only letting in the crappy versions you make on 8bityourself.com .

Nope, you had the option to, but I drew my own instead (but miming that style as much as possible). Though the final character got some proportion changes, I expected that would have had to happen.

  2. I wish the bonus track would be a live version of a song we need like Reading My Eyes from 2008 or something. Or a demo from the CD or a b-side. We already have Blackbirds.

I feel like the band, whether intentionally or unintentionally, misled a lot of fans into buying 8BR. All of the press about the game and all the band's statements (mostly Mike) said that the ONLY way to get this song Blackbirds was to buy the game for $5. And I know a ton of people (myself included) bought it just to get the song. $5 later, they say it's a b-side on the CD. WTF.

At the time he said that, he was 100% correct. Yet you're going on all about this "misled" crap. Not to mentioned Mike polled the fans on ustream HIMSELF, so don't go off whining that they weren't listening to the fans, because odds are, the 99% of people who can't have access to the game probably wanted this song, and some of the 1% who can play it would have liked it in a good quality.

For the past 4 months it's been exclusive. What are you expecting? For it to be exclusive FOREVER? You expect anything forever? You like it be crap quality forever?

I swear, If i had fans who felt this entitled I'd cut three tracks off of ATS, and release just one as a B-side then.

  3. I just opened it in Photoshop/Imageready . It was the photoshop layer thumbnails that caught my attention. The dots shrunk seem to work like pixels then. One might get the same effect by standing as far as possible from tehir screen. Anyway g'nite

Kathy what are you using to look at it frame by frame?

  4. Tha'ts far too forced to be an elephant, and i dont think that's looking or considering all the frames. I prefer the picture I posted.

extremely crude but ya i see an elephant in this one lol...also i suck with MS paint

  5. false: there's nothing special in the source.

cst: changing the colors will not change the image. It is already high contrast and color neutral.

anyone try the source code? I have it open but really have no idea what any of it means...looks like there are a few links though

Make the gray background white, make the individual "dots" between the current white, black.

    once again.

Make the gray background white, make the individual spaces left between the current white black

    just a guess.

  6. 1. Across The Line: Just excellently done. The first of the only two songs in this set that actually get me really really excited enough to set them on repeat for forever.

    2. No Roads Left - I'm including this despite, or because, no other songs left that big of an impact. I <3 mike on here.

    3. Blackbirds - This song is good, its nice to listen to.. and it calmed me down when I was in a rage. The lyrics are good. On the whole, just not as impressive.

    4. Lockjaw - just barely lost to Backbirds. It gets discrimination because its an instrumental. It was still a pretty sweet christmas gift.

5.New Divide - i've heard a lot of arguments against this, but none of them have made this song sound any less than What I've Done part II. I was underwhelmed.

    6. Not Alone - it bears strong marks from being hella rushed. It is my #1 worst rated LP song, sharing the spot with Shadow of the Day and Given Up for the only 3 LP songs i dont like. The fact that this songs exists means that one or people are not dead... with power like that, i can't really berate it too much.

This post has been brought to you by the inabilty to click on this text box and proofread.

  7. IDK about heavy, but the song sampled the rapping bridge rather than the verses, which is a surefire way to misrepresent the song.

BTW, this reply box is completely broken. ugh.

I don't understand the people that are mad over this song not being heavy. Did the clip give you any hope or indication that is was going to be? Because it sure didn't to me.

  8.

I tried to record part 2.

I didn't even bother to try to record his mignight run because I knew by the time I was ready he would have left. ..I asked if he was tired and he said he wasn't, just back from seeing Paul McCartney. He hella looked tired though.

  9. I have to admit, that Warner actually has a point this time. Bands don't put out their stuff to be downloaded for free and not receive any credit for it. I'm not trying to sound selfish here, but the majority of music listeners download much more freely than purchase. Though I do think that like certain singles and stuff should be allowed to be streamed for free.

    This is streaming, not downloading.

I'm so sick of the music industry's licensing monopolistic bullcrap. You make the music, then you sell it, and then after that you don't get to control people's lives. They already control mainstream radio and drove it into inanity. Streaming is the only method besides word of mouth that I learn about new artists.

Warner's heads are clearly filled with rocks. I would be mad enough to boycott them, but I guess I won't be hearing any music from them anymore anyway

  10. Worst LP news article I've seen in a long time. Reporter shouldn't get paid for that interview, if not fired if that's the standard from them.

the "roots" cannot mean talking about the studios without a serious perversion of the meaning of roots. If it does mean that literally, the context doesn't say that at ALL. That's lies.

...coming from the person who complains about MTM lacking hip-hop.

MTM didn't use as much electronic and hip-hop than the other albums. Instead it focused on more "raw" influences.

Since when is hard rock and screaming the only type of rock music?

MTM is more alt than rock.

  11. I hate Phx and when the band makes jokes about their new album, new songs, the new sound

i read that the 'genre busting' was also a joke from Mike

they should get a little bit more serious with us

everytime they make a joke about the new album

it's like a 'FUCK YOU' to me.

Take a chill pill Mr. TakeEverythingPersonally. They've already released the song.

  12. Me and my twitter friends have concluded that Mike is a big fat liar and is changing more than just the colors.

Changing a CSS file wouldn't require the dev team to require Mike to stop posting on his blog.

  13. I do collect all the DSPs, because I can, evidently. I haven't even listened to most of them. Mabe this habit of mine came from when I was starting to get really really into LP, which was a time when a lot of old as hell fansites were quitting and their content disappearing forever. I started archiving stuff like crazy, and when someone says "do you have X" and i give them X because I have it, it's cool.

When i started losing interest in LP in late 2007, I stopped archiving so much. I have yet to pick up the 2009 DSPs (I have to torrent from my parents house: my apartment is run by a mean ISP), but they're on my to-do list.

    - What is your favorite DSP from the band? From Auburn 2007 to Macao 2009...which one do you like the most?

my favorites are Mountain View 04 and 08 (I attended the latter), Twin Bridges, anything unique, or where the band is talkative.

    - Are there any DSPs you listen to a lot?

There's usually one DSP per tour I like to pick and listen to, out of habit i just haven't gotten around to listening to the others.

    - What DSPs do you not like very much or don't listen to a lot? Why?

Sacramento 07 I attended but I don't listen to the DSP that much. I just find other tours sound better.

    - What "highlights" from 2007-2009 do you listen to a lot? Or maybe there's one or two tracks from a certain show you really like.

anytime LP switches up the beginning or ending of a song. I love that crap. Fro mthe aforementioned Sacramento 07, I just listen to Faint because it was done there better than it is in other shows I've heard.

    - Is there anything you don't like about the DSP idea as a whole? What about the mixing? Are you a fan of it? What would you like to see done differently with the DSPs?

    I'm content

  14. well hybris theory took them very fewer time than M2M,and it was a better album. Numb is an epic song and it was recorded within days, as well as what i've done (imo of course).

more time doesnt always mean more quality..and anyway it;s gonna be 3 years since M2M in May, so they have to freshen up a bit! i think it's necessary for the band to release an album in early summer...and,anyway,they've been working quite a lot for it..

That's not necessarily true. LP did spend the fewest studio hours in there, but they've had their whole lives to write their debut album, especially since the songs that are on it are some of their oldest ever. So in a way HT was the longest in production.

  15. where did Mike say that?

the last LPU chat with him. , also what adam said^:

The lpu is nice and all but the chats are so outdated. A video chat should be used instead of typing to a screen.

...and one more thing for sparkart to mess up. I rather have the chat op UI streamlined first, so the good questions are less likely to be missed. Heck, i just want everything installed in LPU 6 working PROPERLY before they go messing up everything else.
