  1. I was thinking about a specific kind of Nu metal, but you are right, Korn were arguably the first in that Genre.
  2. To come out with something experimental such as ATS (my favorite album) or OML (my least favorite album) would have been career suicide. Also, Nu Metal is pretty big again and why would they leave the market to other bands that have been influenced by them when they are the OGs? I totally get that they come back with their trademark sound to show how it's done and that they still got it. The title "HITC" could also be interpreted as them seeing a responsibility in literally being the fathers to the style of other artists. They just had to do it.
  3. I agree that with the Hollywood Bowl Show, The Post Traumatic album and Tour and the releases of Lost and Friendly Fire they did more than enough to pay tribute. At the same time, if they just do it because they feel like they have to, I think you might feel that it is forced. Apart from that I also noticed that Mike does not seem to feel really comfortable talking about Chester anymore. The way he kinda dodged the question during the Interview with Fallon seemed very avoidant to me. I am not saying that Mike doesn't care by this. Watching countless of interviews throughout the years I just suppose that Mike is just not the kind of guy who likes to talk about deep emotions in public but rather keeps them private and uses music to channel them. I remember when he even said that due to his Japanese background he was in a way raised like that. He also stated that he is not a big cryer at least twice. Chester was drastically different from that, almost an oversharer. In some interviews the two did together these two poles were very apparent to me. With that said, as Mike is one in charge talking to the audience, the fact that he doesn't adress Chester directly when talking to the crowd by no means indicates that he does not care and just wants to act like nothing happened. It is just in line with his personality I suppose.
  4. We're gonna play a B-Side for you. Something that's not on the album..
  5. Saw some guy yesterday refering to this old rehearsal video of 1999 (or 2000) before they were famous where you can see a Scientology building in the background at some point who took this as proof that they have always been ST.
  6. I think during the Post Traumatic Tour Mike talked a lot about Chester, so I think at this point it is okay to not make a real tribute during the show. Also, they should only do it if they feel like it, not if they feel like they have to. What I noticed however is that they take more time to talk to the crowd overall. The last couple of times I saw them they were basically just playing the set with a couple of "thank yous" in between, which came across as "too professional" for some people at times.
  7. Yes, ironically, there is a chance that LP might sound more than classic LP than it has for the last 15 years or so.
  8. Don't know if I am stupid, but since English isn't my mother tongue, could someone please explain the "leaf of legumes" hint? I get the literal translation but cant make anything out of it 😅
  9. Interesting "What do you call it? Scientology?". So Open Door came out in 2020. At the time, he already knew Emily, but if you take this part of the Interview it seems like either he did not know much about Scientology or he wanted to act a little naive. Either way, he said it was pretty dark.
  10. I saw somewhere that Mike has made comments about Scientology in the past. Does anyone have a source of that? Would be interesting to see when those comments were made and what he had to say exactly.
  11. I think the comparison to Tom Cruise does not really work. I think if you go and watch a movie starring Tom Cruise you do not really care what kind of a human being he is. For Linkin Park, with their whole legacy, it is hard separate the art from the artist. Chester sung those lyrics with such authenticity and we knew that they were very relatable for him. Part of what fans always loved about the band was rooted in their personalities and the way they opened up about certain things, they have always been more than the music. Also, to make that clear, I am not making any assumptions about Emilys character. She might be a wonderful human being and it could be the case that her beliefs are not in line with what Scientology teaches. However, we do not know. With Chester, we knew. Also, I won't stop listening to the band but I see where all the disappointment online derives from. And I am also disappointed that the voices, especially of SA survivors or people who have their own battles with depression, are just ignored. I think if a statement is not possible, and I get that there might be reasons why it's not, you should at least release something like "we see you" or just like after Chesters passing "a statement will come as soon as we have one". Just ignoring the fans does not do us justice imho.
  12. Bands like Rammstein sell out Arenas as well but I think this is not the point. The band has been working with big companies such as Mercedes. If these companies also face a backlash this might lead to problems. Also, imagine what would happen if big festivals announce them as headliners. The comment sections would be flooded with the allegations. Last year, Rock am Ring had Pantera in the line up but due to the shitstorm after the announcement they dropped them from the festival. Even if it will get quiter during the next weeks it will start all over again and again when they are exposed to different platform and audiences. And in the end this will lead to them losing money. Linkin Park is absolute mainstream. They are on mainstream radio, mainstream TV, have their music placed in TV shows and movies, they have big sponsors and endorsements. Plus, as they are a Brand, they stand for something which is now contradicted by the allegations against Emily.
  13. The more I think about it, the more I think that the band did not know. I mean they often said that Warner does not interfer with their creative choices anymore. I mean, if they knew that she was involved in Scientology and that she supported Danny Masterson in the past, she either would not have become a part of the band in the first place OR they would have come up with a plan on how to deal with it once people find out. Obviously, that is not the case. She even followed the guy after the announcement. If they knew, they would have told her to unfollow, I guess. The silence by the band is very telling. At this point, I really think that this took them by surprise and now they do not know how to deal with it.
  14. Okay, if you leave all the scientology stuff aside and I agree we do not know if she is still part of it. Danny Masterson is a convicted rpst. He is in prison with a life sentence. She still follows the guy on instagram. How is that even possible with a band like LP. Like when I first read about the stuff I would check out her following because I doubted it to be true. You would at least expect she would try to do a little bit of effort of not making it too obvious. At least after a full day of shtstorm. Nope.
