  1. To make sure we don't overlook anything, I'd like to point out that Mike Shinoda went by the name Akira in 1999 and even though Chester was already in the band and they were working on new music together, Mike still did collaborations with other rappers (only one confirmed so far, but anyway).

what is your source that Mike went by the name Akira ?

the collaboration you are talking about is the one with The Visionaries?

  2. Also, been doing some digging on the Rapology series and trying to find out whether any other LP-related tracks were featured on them. So far, I've managed to track down tracklistings for volumes 2, 4, 8, 9, 15, and 16 - nothing featured on any of those, but of note, High and Mighty's "B-Boy Document '99" is featured on volume 16, which was sampled in She Couldn't. I'd be willing to bet that's where Mike and/or Joe first heard the song.

*Edit* Found a tracklisting for volume 10 as well (nothing - it's titled as "Rapology X" instead of using the number 10, which made it harder to find), and I just bought a copy of volume 11 on Amazon that didn't include the tracklisting - fingers crossed!. Haven't found any info on volume 12, but I feel like if there are any further tracks to be found, they'll either be on 11 or 12. As previously said, anything earlier than 9 would be too early, and 16 is well into 1999 when Chester was in the band, so I doubt they would have been contributing any further songs at that point.

-First of all good luck with no.11

-We found out that Lee Cadena continued having relations with Xero as Hybrid Theory as well, so i wouldn't knock out the idea of further collaborations as HT 1999+

-You should try "#12" cause thats how no.31 is credited

-Something he haven't thought about is that their previous collaboration could not be in the "Rapology" series but a differnt collection of Urban Network. (examples : "Unsinged, Unsealed ,Undelivered" no.4 or more/ "The Urban Network Tune Towne" / "Future Jams")

"i'm fed up and i'm doing all i can do to move to a deserted island and make my own shit out of coconuts and bamboo"

lyrics from Drop, now check this link out : http://www.allmusic.com/artist/mtume-salaam-mn0001870947

Mtume Salaam is the one who sold the cds at discogs where Almamu bought them from, do you think its a coincidence ?

I'm trying to get in touch with both Lee "The Crusher" Cadena and Mtume Salaam for any further info, wish me luck!!

  3. good to have a comfirmed date :D

I do think the same, or probably a very similar sentence.

    - Some people have already said that Joe Hahn used ArtOfficial as his nickname back then, i think it was Hahninator

    - Some people have suggested that, we might need to wait for Mike's or SoB confirmation on that one.

    - It doesnt sound like Mark, but its not too long to really make some connection out of it

    - There is already a work ongoing on the lyrics. Hahninator has posted most of the Drop lyrics, and Mesck547 has added some to it too

i cant find Joe anywhere mentioned as Artofficial, i dont doubt he is, but no proof of it.

I think we should start Fiends lyrics too, anyone up for it ?

  4. So here are some things to discuss :
-I'm trying to get in touch with Lee "The Crusher" Cadena who is the executive of the cds, so if i accomplish it let me know what would you guys like me to ask him biggrin.gif
-Who is Artofficial: at the back cover says "Kenji & Artofficial (of Xero)" does that mean he was part of Xero as well, is he Joe Hahn?
-The year of release as I said it's probably 1997 or early 1998, any proof of anything about the date ?
-Do you think "F/" stands for Feat. and 007 is SoB manager ?
-Who does the backing vocals in "Fiends" is it Mike himself or Mark or someone else ?
-Who is up for writting the lyrics for the songs ?
-Literally any info about Rapology or Urban Network.
-Finally which one did you like the most : Drop Vs Fiends
  5. Exactly what I thought!

Chester joined the band in March 1999. That's confirmed.

not really check Slip, its dated at 1998 even though its a Hybrid Theory demo

Thank you for clarification. Please take a look to the original post admins to add lpdrew to the source as I did add that link to my original post so not only I get credited for it but LP Drew too

thanks mate we indeed made a great discovery :D

  6. As the one who discovered these songs (i posted the original thread)
    https://www.reddit.com/r/LinkinPark/comments/5xb1t1/urban_networks_rapology/

here is some more info about the tracks:

    https://www.discogs.com/Various-Urban-Networks-Rapology-13/release/9521613
    https://www.discogs.com/fr/Various-Rapology-14/release/9622841

I first found them at discogs, if you click on artist the links will lead you to Xero's and Mike Shinoda's pages, further more both collections credit Mike Shinoda as the graphic designer.

also the songs are about 1997-98 even though there is no info of it, thats my belief due to the fact that Rapology 16 was released at 1999 and since Chester joined at 1998-99 (its not sure, at interviews they say 99 but they have released some Hybrid Theory demos at LPU's that are from 1998) these demos should have been released at about 97-98.

*Note: Xero's song is called "Fiends" not "Friends".
