hahninator
Here's a question for you all. What is your favorite starting run of songs in an LP setlist? For example the first 5-9 songs or whatever you want to do it. For example at my first LP show I saw this: http://lplive.net/shows/20070807.php 01. Wake 02. Given Up 03. No More Sorrow 04. Lying From You 05. Don't Stay 06. Somewhere I Belong 07. From The Inside 08. Papercut 09. Points Of Authority They start with Wake which gradually builds and then do 8 hard songs in a row before taking a break. Literally back to back to back all down the set right there. It's my favorite PR07 setlist because Wake opens instead of killing the vibe in the middle of the set. Pure rocking right here. They've done some others though that are like this, including their new set (APFMH to SIB). What's your favorite? RiderSSPU
I would say the new set is really good start: 01. A Place For My Head Long Intro; Ext. Outro 02. Given Up Ext. Outro w/ Extra Note 03. Faint Ext. Outro 04. With You 2012 Ext. Intro; Ext. Scratch Outro 05. Runaway 06. From The Inside Ext. Intro 07. Somewhere I Belong 2012 Ext. Intro, False Start 08. Numb 09. LIES GREED MISERY Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/8595-best-starting-run/#findComment-163907 Share on other sites
Astat
I think the What I've Done/Faint/No More Sorrow combo they used to open a lot of shows in 2008 was perfect. They basically did those 3 songs without ANY kind of pause in between them, with the AMBO intro on WID it kept the energy going for a solid 12 minutes or so to kick off the show. wiiesel
apart from the current set I would say something like this: (that was btw. Mannheim 2008, my second LP show) 01. No More Sorrow 02. Lying From You 03. Somewhere I Belong 04. Wake 2.0 05. Given Up 06. Papercut 07. Points Of Authority This show also had the best "ending run" (encore) I've ever seen from LP 18. Cure For The Itch 19. A Place For My Head 20. Faint Ext. Outro 21. One Step Closer Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/8595-best-starting-run/#findComment-163933 Share on other sites
lgr
I barely remember the Knebworth set I saw - too busy singin' but I think the new '12 setlists are boss Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/8595-best-starting-run/#findComment-164015 Share on other sites
Geki
I have been to 12 LP shows, my first being Bamboozle in 2007 and my last being MSG 2011. The best starting run I have seen was in Manchester, NH in 2008 for the MTM Arena Tour. It had a crazy energy and the band brought it. I also love HHH live, I think I'm the only one that ever did. 1. What I've Done (AMBO Intro) 2. Faint 3. No More Sorrow 4. Somewhere I Belong 5. Lying From You 6. From The Inside 7. Points Of Authority (W/ It's Goin' Down Verse) 8. Hands Held High 9. Wake/Given Up Edited June 1, 2012 by Geki Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/8595-best-starting-run/#findComment-164025 Share on other sites
ChuckCheese
This batch from the new set is my favorite now. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/8595-best-starting-run/#findComment-164329 Share on other sites
Braininator
Adelaide, Australia - 09.12.2010 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches And Kings 03. Lying From You 04. Given Up 05. What I've Done 06. No More Sorrow 07. From The Inside Personal bias for being at this show. This was the debut of this opening combination, and also only the third time that From The Inside had been played in 2010 up till this point. Dave-Stone55
01. Wake 02. Given Up 03. No More Sorrow 04. Lying From You 05. Don't Stay 06. Somewhere I Belong 07. From The Inside 08. Papercut 09. Points Of Authority I'm gonna agree with Mark on the bias that they did this setlist at the first show I saw them at, MSG 08, where they also played APFMH. The set was just killer at that point in their careers. The WID opener setlist is also killer to listen to in the DSP's. Geki
01. Wake 02. Given Up 03. No More Sorrow 04. Lying From You 05. Don't Stay 06. Somewhere I Belong 07. From The Inside 08. Papercut 09. I think that tour was really good, set wise, and energy wise. LP was really energetic during the MTM tour, then during 2009 and the ATS tour and now, their energy has seemed to decrease.. hahninator
Um, no. How can you say that about 2009? http://lplive.net/shows/20090730.php Another great starting run. Listening to the DSP now. 01. Session 02. Given Up 03. From The Inside 04. Somewhere I Belong 05. No More Sorrow (Long intro) 06. Points Of Authority (High Voltage/Bloc Party/POA intro; RME outro) 07. What I've Done (AMBO intro) Fucking awesome. Germany knows how to rock. Band was in great form, crowd was exploding and going insane the entire show and overall it was one of the best LP shows I've ever seen. Second only to the first time I ever saw them (extreme bias). Dave-Stone55
The High Voltage / Bloc Party intro was their best POA intro along with Second To None Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/8595-best-starting-run/#findComment-165060 Share on other sites
Numbrocker
1. Requiem 2. Faint 3. Lying From You 4. Given Up 5. What I've Done 6. No More Sorrow 7. From the Inside This is from the NY 2/4/11 show. It was the best opener of the shows I've been too. I love Faint as an opener. The rest of the line up can be moved around. Twiilite
Gonna hafta go with the one they just played the other day: 01. TINFOIL 02. Faint 03. Papercut 04. With You 05. Runaway 06. Given Up 07. Blackout 08. Somewhere I Belong 09. A Place For My Head 10. New Divide 11. LIES GREED MISERY 12. Points of Authority 12 relentless, aggressive songs. They get halfway through their setlist before taking a break to go soft. It's insane and unheard of from the band since the old days!!
