Does anyone know the story behind this song?

I know the song was featured on the LPU 4, but does have any other information about the song. Is any other members of the band on this song or just mike? Is it even considered a Linkin Park song

produced by kutmasta kurt

mixed by mike shinoda

I think someone said as well it was recorded around HT theory time or Reanimation (one of the two)

I think it may of be mentioned in the Facts thing on the first page.

EDIT: I just saw the fact

36. "Standing In The Middle" (LPU 4) featuring Mike and Motion Man was recorded in 2001 around the same time the two collaborated for the Reanimation song “Enth e Nd”

It is definitely a Linkin Park song, can't answer the other question.

The only reason it's considered a Linkin Park song is that it was released on a Linkin Park CD. In reality, you might as well consider it a Motion Man song that features Mike.

well its most likely LP minus chester.

Nope. Mike is the only member of LP that had any involvement with this track.

I wonder who wrote this.

Credited to Paul Laster (Motion Man), Kurt Matlin (Kutmasta Kurt), and Mike Shinoda. Published through Nog Nod, which is a division of Bicycle Music.
