The Catalyst #1 at "Billboard Alternative Songs" chart

After recording the first #1 debut in the history of the U.S. Billboard Rock Songs chart, the new Linkin Park single "The Catalyst" goes to #1 at the Alternative Songs chart, as well. It's the band's ninth number-one single, making them the second band with most number-one songs (together with Green Day), following Red Hot Chili Peppers with 11 number-one singles.

It's kind of crazy that they've caught up to Green Day and RHCP like that. I'm sure we'll continue to see number one singles from Linkin Park no matter how un-radio-friendly their music becomes.

Green Day's first #1 single was 6 years before LP's and now they're tied with them.

 

I'm thinking one or two more singles into ATS and we'll see LP pass up GD.
