Really enjoying the editing on the LPTVs. Also like that the episodes are longer.

 

Makes you really wonder what happened during One More Light era to have no LPTVs - wasn't that strange? They played some great shows then, too.

I guess the backstage was a bit too serious, not having enough funny moments. Looking back to those concerts you kinda feel the band taking it all too professionally, focused "on the job" itself.

Maybe it was the overall reception of the album, the intense criticism, Chester answering back and switching between "fuck you come fight me" and  "we have to love each other" moments.

The band was burned out during the OML era, they needed a long hiatus after THP touring cycle.

But they had all of 2016 off and took their very slow/sweet time with OML. It was the first year they didn't play shows.

 

But Chester had some internal stuff going on in 2016 too, stemming from 2015 incidents (not just him breaking his leg). Maybe they did need more time off. Hindsight is 20/20 on that stuff. They probably felt they had an entire year down and were excited to do a new era.

But it wasn't like they were sitting around doing nothing in 2016. They started work on OML then. It's unlike the time span between Meteora and MTM, where, with the exception of Mike (Fort Minor), they took a long time off.
