LPLStaff
Fresh off of announcing a night 2 show in Frankfurt, Germany, Linkin Park has now added two night 2s to the North American Tour - Boston and Montreal. Boston moved the most tickets of any U.S. city on the tour, selling 80%+ of the venue in a day or two, and Montreal and Toronto both sold their shows out quickly. Interestingly, both night 2s will come the night before the original show. 2025.07.31 - Boston, MA (New show) 2025.08.01 - Boston, MA 2025.08.05 - Montreal, QC (New show) 2025.08.06 - Montreal, QC This brings the North American leg 2 of the tour up to 25 shows. Adding in leg 1, that's 33 shows in North America in 2025 for the band. If you're asking yourself... "wow, that seems like a lot of shows, when is the last time they have performed that many in North America?" In 2008, Linkin Park performed 18 shows in winter 2008 and 24 again in the summer, all in North America. In 2007, Projekt Revolution was 29 shows. We have to go all the way back to 2004, where Linkin Park performed 34 shows on the Meteora North American Tour and 32 shows on Projekt Revolution to get to these numbers. This makes it the largest North American tour the band has performed in 20 years. Ticket information is below: LPU Legacy Pre-sale - Monday, Dec 9 at 10AM EST LPU Passport Plus Pre-sale - Monday, Dec 9 at 12PM EST General On-sale - Friday, Dec 13 at 10AM EST Tickets + Info: https://linkinpark.com/tour There does appear to be a few more days off where other shows could fit, if needed, into the 2025 tour schedule. We will see what the band does. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/18028-linkin-park-adds-second-nights-in-boston-and-montreal/ Share on other sites
LeonardoMF93
Very curious how some cities sold out tickets so quickly that they added second dates, while other cities still have plenty of tickets available. For example, I’m still considering going to the Seattle show, and that’s only possible because there are still lots of tickets left. LPLStaff
The band just simply isn't as big in the USA as they are internationally. But with that said, if they did 15 shows as opposed to 33, you'd see more shows sell out and quickly. If New York had just Barclays and not Newark as well (effectively two shows right next to each other) then that would be a sold out show. They are likely doing extra USA shows to make up for 2 entire canceled tours in a row in 2015 and 2017. Some of the markets are just really small for them, like Grand Rapids and Greenville... those normally would never make it to an LP tour. In fact it's the first South Carolina show since fall 2000, lol The demand isn't there for them to sell out stadiums or sell out 33 shows, but the extra shows definitely play into the ticket sales here. Canada sold out because they are really hardcore about LP and they always draw huge in Toronto and Montreal. Boston moved the most tickets of any USA city on the on-sale. You won't see as many shows sell out on this run in North America solely because of the amount they are doing and the demand being lower than internationally. If this tour were the same length as Honda Civic Tour in 2012, then it'd be harder to get tickets. They also announced these like 7, 8, 9 months out and that is a LONG time in advance for LP as compared to normal tour announcements they do. You also have to remember that the high number of shows and an average capacity of around 17,000 means that the scale is really huge. We're talking about around 400,000 - 450,000 (or whatever number of tickets) tickets that can be sold. That's not exactly a small number. And as has already been mentioned, LP is not that huge in the US compared to other countries or continents. I can only keep pointing out how stupidly big LP is in Germany. The 5 stadium shows must have a combined capacity of 200.000-250.000 and they could have doubled the number of shows and still sold them out. The difference is huge. But I'm also sure that if they did a double-headlining tour with another big band, tickets would have gone fast in the US. For example, a new edition of the Blinkin Park shows would sell out rather quickly. LPLStaff
Yes, that is a great point. It is good for the fans that the band did not come right out and do a huge Linkin Park co-headline tour with Blink 182, My Chemical Romance, or Twenty One Pilots. All three are very viable, and likely, options. Inevitably the band will do some shows with those artists and they will be MASSIVE. My Chemical Romance just sold out their tour. But thankfully tickets are easy this time as opposed to having to try to fight to get in to one of those huge shows. 2026+ will definitely get something wild like that now that the band can be public about the comeback as opposed to the "hush hush" nature earlier this year when it came to booking shows. I really had no idea that the demand in the United States was lower than internationally. I think I was misled by how hard it was to get tickets for this year's shows, but that doesn't seem to reflect the usual demand. Considering what you said, splitting the tour into two parts even seems like a strategy to boost sales. Although Canada seems to have higher demand, I think Vancouver is an exception. I bought a ticket for that show and have been keeping an eye on how sales are going. It looks like ticket sales in this Canadian city aren't as high as the rest of the country. I honestly have my doubts that the tickets for this specific show will sell out. Think the 2 part thing had to do with the festivals first of all, like Sick New World, Sonic Temple, and Welcome to Rockville are in that month span and they need something to do, so they might as well tour around a bit. But it also lets them do more USA and break them up as you said. Yes, good point on Vancouver. Beautiful city, would love to go to that one. 1 hour ago, JZLP-Benningstrong said: the best support act by far its Pvris Agreed, not even close. Wish they had Paramore on some of the shows too. We shouldn’t forget that they had MCR as a Co headliner in 2007. And MCR was kinda big back then. Right now they really don’t have big Supportes for their US dates. And perhaps cancelling the tour wasn’t the main problem (that can happen) but rather Chester popping up a few months later (end of match while he broke his ankle like mid January) with STP on a tour. That didn’t look too great for some fans. That didn’t look too great for some fans. We know that at a concert, casual fans make up approximately 90% of the stadium/arena. I don’t think the casual fan gets that upset about a cancellation. They probably don’t even think about it anymore. The ones who truly suffer from a cancellation are the hardcore fans. NimaLP
They have two of the most popular bands on the scene for support acts, Spiritbox and Architects, on some of the shows, which are both insanely good live. Might give LP a run for their money. I wish we could get a LP/BMTH tour at some point. It would be absolutely insane. sublimeric
I guess I screwed myself over by sharing my presale code on the last on sale. Now my code has been used for night 2 in Boston. Oh well. Live and learn and save a ton of money this way? LeonardoMF93
It seems that you can only use your code six times, right? Now, is the limit of the code counted even if you try to purchase tickets for different tours? For example, if I use my code to purchase tickets for shows in North America, will I have fewer uses left for shows in Europe? If so, when will the usage count reset? You could use 6 for North America and 6 for Europe and 6 for South America. It has to do with the different Ticketmaster platforms. Should have 6 each for all of those. They need to issue new codes when 2nd shows get announced - no one plans for that originally. Why would you not want to boost hardcore fan ticket sales? When they sold tickets for the first show in São Paulo, Ticketmaster and LPU said the code could be used for 4 tickets. When they announced the second show in São Paulo, you couldn't reuse your code if you had already purchased four tickets for the first night. LPLStaff
I don't think moving forward it makes sense to do that. I know it's more work on their end to generate more codes, but the effort is worth it if fans want to buy those tickets.
