2024.11.16 - São Paulo, Brazil (Allianz Parque - Night Two)

Well, now that the shows in Brazil have ended, I can share my thoughts. I attended four shows this year: Los Angeles (Kia Forum), Bogotá (Coliseo Medplus), and the two in São Paulo (Allianz Parque).

 

Without comparison, the audience in Brazil was superior in every way. The difference is absolutely surreal. When I arrived in São Paulo, I thought I wouldn’t get as emotional since I had already attended two shows before, but with the crowd singing so loudly, it ended up being the one where I cried the most.

Even though I was in the front row for the second São Paulo show (which also had a better setlist), I was far more emotional during the first one. I think fatigue impacted my experience, even though I had such a great spot.

 

A serious criticism I’d like to make to the LPU regarding the São Paulo shows: the Early Entry sign-ups for both days were opened on the same day. Anyone who signed up for both had their request for the first day disregarded. While I think this is fair, it should have been communicated beforehand, allowing people to choose which day they’d prefer to attend.

 

As for the show in Colombia, I’d like to highlight the lack of organization when entering the arena. I didn’t have any issues because I had Early Entry, but all my Brazilian friends who traveled there and didn’t have it faced problems.

Great run in Brazil. The only mildly disappointing thing is not playing a song from The Hunting Party because 2024 is the year of that album lol. Keys would have been cool to have even like as a bonus on a DVD or something if they don't show it in theaters. Well, they could always still do that I guess. But they definitely threw the hardcore fans a bone with APFMH because that's such a legendary song for the fanbase.

my guess is that the shows are gonna be released both on theaters and a CD/DVD. kinda like Live in Texas but in São Paulo lol

I went to both shows and that's my only complain. I wanted KTTK instead of LITE, it was perfect in the encore for the 1st show. They could even just add one song (as they did en texas), but it hurts a little not having any song, there was no justice for THP :(

I went to both concerts in São Paulo, in different sections (on the 15th, in the Lower Seat - Cadeira Inferior in portuguese; on the 16th, in the LPU Pit) and I want to share some information.

 

First about recording for the documentary: I think it's a possible idea for the band to use both shows, but it's important to point out the differences between the two days (apart from the setlist).

 

The crane camera used for the 15th was removed for the 16th. Check the photos below. Also, my perception from being in the Pit is that the drone wasn't used on the second day. These two elements were used extensively in the footage on the 15th, which was aired on YouTube, Multishow and Globoplay.

Bleed it Out is a very particular case in terms of recording, and I'm curious to know how they'll decide which day to use (if the recordings are restricted to the São Paulo shows) or how to unify them. For one reason only: Mr. Hahn.

On the 15th he carried a big camera. My impression from being at the show and then watching the Multishow recording afterwards was his camera wasn't broadcast on the recording or on the screens during the concert. But that changed completely at the second show: Mr. Hahn carried a smaller camera and his recording was broadcasted on the screens. And Emily took the camera out of Mr. Hahn's hands and ended up filming everything. And it was great to follow what the camera was capturing! Just crazy! Check the footages below:

On the subject of the drone: it was used a lot on the 15th inside the stadium. And, from what I saw later on social media and in the recording, it was also used outside the stadium. All, from what I saw, with legal authorization to do so.

 

On the 16th, however, it seemed to me that a drone tried to fly over the stadium. But someone from the production team, using some kind of light, signaled for it to go away (or to try to identify what it was). I noticed this because I was in the pit and someone pointed a green light up into the air. This happened in the very first few songs.

 

About the concert:

 

- Collin's guitar didn't work at the beginning of When They Come For Me. He walked across the stage, went backstage and then returned with the guitar working properly.

 

- The production team tried to set up the structure for Lost, Breaking the Habit and What I've Done (as mentioned on the Linkinpedia page). But the team ran into problems: they checked the keyboard keys several times to see if the sound was working, under the keyboard, on the catwalk and, finally, under the stairs that connected the stage to the catwalk. Finally, after no success, they removed the entire structure to the backstage area and, seconds later, Mike walked over to the keyboard on the main stage to continue.

 

- I had the impression that Mr. Hahn and Mike were looking at each other and joking around just before Numb. And that Mr. Hahn started the samples a little earlier than Mike expected.

 

About LPU and LPU Pit:

 

- I loved the experience of entering early and meeting Adam and Lorenzo quickly. Both very friendly.

 

- As soon as we got inside and headed for the pit, Adam showed up to give us the Linkin Park logo sticker in the colors of Brazil. At first he handed them out one by one: then he handed over a packet of stickers and told us to share them, so that each of us had to take a sticker.

 

- The atmosphere in the pit was very good for meeting people, talking and organizing ourselves. For example, if someone needed to leave to get something to eat or go to the toilet, the person didn't lose the “seat” he or she had gotten when entering. We entered the Pit about 5 hours and 50 minutes before the concert. Even though we had a privileged position shared by only a few people, some fans still rushed to get the best position next to the railing.

 

- And finally the biggest surprise for us was when Collin showed up to say hello and take photos. This was about 3 hours before the start of the concert and he surprised everyone. He walked around patiently greeting those in front of the stage (LPU Pit and Pista Premium).
