BBC Radio 1 New Music Show with Mike Shinoda - October 24, 2024

Recommended Posts

In case you missed it last week, Mike Shinoda joined Jack Saunders on BBC Radio 1 to discuss the new Linkin Park song "Over Each Other."

Mike said:

"The original demo was all me, and then as we were writing, in the process we played with different iterations/ways of presenting it. Some of the tracks, it was just like, I wrote the demo and then it kind of like stayed very similar to that. Other ones were more of a collaborative process and I think this one fell into that category more. It had its different twists and turns with friends of ours and at the end of the day, when we did this version with Emily singing it all the way down, it like the song - it felt the most like what it was supposed to be."

About the "get your screamy pants on" clip at the end of the song, Mike said, "This song leads into another song on the record called "Casualty" and... I'll leave it there."

Discussing meeting Emily, he said the band was not ready to do Linkin Park in 2019 but he kept writing with Emily over time slowly, and eventually Linkin Park made sense. Mike adds that he forgot how much fun it is to play shows with Linkin Park, coming off of the first leg of the From Zero World Tour.

Listen to the interview on BBC Radio 1. Mike joins around 34 minutes.

wow that was the worst radio debut of the song. There is nothing worse than you listening the song and on the very last chorus someone from the radio starts talking over it.

Also, seems like the radios have the instrumental version of the track.
