    - To get in the spirit of KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas, LP played four acoustic songs in a row - the first time they had ever played acoustically. The stage turned before their "acoustic set" began, revealing a specially-designed Christmas-themed set for the band. Rob had Christmas lights on his drumkit, stools across the stage, there was a piano for Mike, the cello was brought out for Phoenix, acoustic guitars donned the stage, etc. Brad told Chester before 'Pushing Me Away' that it was like they were on "VH1 Storytellers". 'My December' featured Brad on acoustic guitar, so we are calling that an acoustic performance of the song. Phoenix stayed on the cello and Brad (Mike too, for the first two) donned an acoustic guitar for 'Pushing Me Away', 'Crawling', and 'In The End'. 'Crawling' featured an acoustic guitar intro by Brad and had Aaron Lewis from Staind on the song. Mike played piano on 'My December' and the second half of 'In The End'. Brad also played the 'A Place For My Head' intro on acoustic before the stage turns back before the song kicks in.

    - After 'Step Up', Chester says it's like the "KROQ Almost Acoustic Hanukkah" since the 9th was the first day of Hanukkah.

    - Right before 'One Step Closer,' the band played a short cover of Outkast's 'So Fresh, So Clean.'

Chester's hair and the band members' appearances also correlate this. However, a tour itinerary obtained in March 2016 shows a second Top of the Pops date for September 13, 2001 as well, meaning the band was set to play TOTP two times that year. We have added the show to the guide, but we have zero confirmation that it was actually played. Most likely, the performance was canceled due to 9/11. The Maida Vale show the next day barely happened as well, giving more credit to this hypothesis.

    - The setlist for this show that has been around for years reportedly was in the order of 'With You', 'Runaway', 'Papercut', 'Points Of Authority', 'Pushing Me Away', 'Step Up', 'Crawling', 'In The End', 'And One', 'A Place For My Head', 'By Myself', 'My December', 'Forgotten', and 'One Step Closer'. That order is inconsistent with what the band was playing on this tour, but we left it the same since it was reported this way in 2001. With the 'And One' for 'High Voltage' swap, it's possible that the band swapped the order up a little bit. For example, 'Step Up' appeared three days later between 'Points Of Authority' and 'Pushing Me Away'.     From an interview with Mike when Meteora came out: "There is one time, we had just played Conan O'Brien, I think close to two years ago, and we were just kind of getting started in our minds. We were at the airport after the show, the next morning, and we're sitting there and I'm like, "Oh my gosh, that's Slick Rick!" He's so obvious--he's got an eyepatch on, gold teeth, a beret, all this jewelry, a fur coat on. He's impossible to miss, a fur coat on. And I was just thinking, "Wow, this is crazy, I'm seeing Slick Rick in the airport." Well, it wasn't as crazy as when he came up to us and said, "Hey, I caught you guys on Conan O'Brien." I'm just like, "Oh my God, that's the greatest thing ever. Slick Rick just came up and talked to us!" Things like that, you never get used to."

    2/08/01: MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA

    Styles of Beyond has finished their time on our tour, and we were all sad to see them go home. they are really nice guys, and put on an excellent show. i hear they're going to go home to save up some money and showcase for some more record labels, as they are as of yet an unsigned act.

    as for us, driving almost non-stop for days at a time with twelve people trapped in one vehicle with "the shining" playing in the background isn't one of the most ideal ways to travel. -hahaha- at least we got here; the drive from denver last night was pretty rough, especially in the snow. something froze in our septic system, and the bathroom smell kept rob and i from going to sleep for a while last night. but our bus driver (also named rob) managed to fix it eventually.

    but this past week, the shows in salt lake city and denver were awesome. some of the biggest crowds we've headlined for, and the energy in the room really pushed us to deliver. everyone in our bus and taproot's bus have been passing around a cold. chester and steve were having coughing fits yesterday. all of our guys slept about 12 hours last night, trying to fight it off. good timing for a day off. we'll gather our energy so we can give 110% at the show tomorrow night.

    i'm going to stop writing and go look at some of those art contest entries. good luck to all...

    this is joe. we are now in chicago. the house of blues. we stayed up all night gambling. unfortunately, i only walked away with a winning of $300. tour is going great. we are looking forward to doing the ozzfest in a city near you. i hate winter. it sucks. i keep spitting up brown crap every morning. wack. funnel cake tastes good. dave has a blister on his foot. if there are any people that can give me a free skateboard, i would like one very much. brad just gained 12 pounds. mike has blue hair. rob has a palm pilot. chester is getting busy and steaming some vegetables. --Joe
