  1. Definitely best LP moment of 2010 was being able to listen to A Thousand Suns two weeks before release at Warner Bros. Records thanks to the LPU. I was looking forward to the album for so long and was lucky enough to get to listen to it before most of the world. I was pretty shocked that first listen, but it's really grown on me, definitely one of their best albums.

I can already tell the best moment of 2011 will be me on the floor with my friends at Staples Center seeing them live in February.

  2. "Right Now" is just so dope, "Kenji" is very deep, means a lot to me because my Grandfather was in the Internment camps as well. "The Hard Way" is another one that's just great.

Hard to believe the album is already 5 years old. I got my special edition signed at Mike's 1st art show too :)

  3. Been a fan since early 2001, my favorite song of HT is Forgotten, love the music and the lyrics especially mike's line: "and the memory now is like the picture was then, when the paper's crumpled up and can't be perfect again" This album made me get into music and it was the first CD I could listen to without skipping a track because all of them were so damn good.

  4. Mike in the beginning sounded really really fucking weird, but his singing got way better after that. The very very shortened version of the song sucks. I wasn't really impressed with this performance except for Rob's drumming which was fucking awesome and the gang vocals which were cool. Hopefully by the time they do a US tour, they'll get all the kinks worked out.

  5. This "making of" was just as shocking to me as first listening to the album and I guess it's cool to be unexpected and way different from their past albums/making of but I was really hoping to see more of the music being made instead of just random craziness. I guess they just really want people to have their own interpretation of the album and not really give as much insight as they have in the past. I also wished they didn't cover up so many of the talking parts with louder sounds. The camera shake pissed me off too. Overall this was a let down, but I see where they're coming from and it was interesting to see the tension and darker side of the process.

  6. LP at the laser show!

So very cool. I wish they would've taped this!! I bet it looked epic!

It was pretty trippy especially with the diffraction glasses which made everything look like you were looking through a kaleidoscope , the band Q&A was way too short, maybe 8 questions, most of which weren't good. Probably the best one was someone asked "How do you deal with negative reviews?" Joe said something like "it's like emotional rotten tomatoes being thrown at you, just close your eyes, keep them close, then fall asleep." It was pretty damn funny.

Mike also said that they have no idea what they're going to do for the next record.

    Some other interesting information

someone asked if they were going to release any heavy songs on the side like QWERTY, Chester said during the Minutes to Midnight recording process, they went through a very heavy guitar phase and he even said in interviews that the album was going to be the fucking heaviest LP album ever. Then towards the end of the process, they just ended up picking the songs that they felt sounded the best and interesting which ended up being the softest album ever, he said from that point he would never talk about a record until the songs were picked and he felt like jack ass haha.

Mike said he didn't know what was going to go on the LPUX CD yet, but that he thought LPU9 CD was pretty damn good, and LPUX might even be better.
